Chapter 463: Xiao Jing’s SchemingTranslator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
By rights, the combined pressure of thousands of demons using the Demon Clan’s martial technique should have been powerful enough to smash Ye Mo into a pulp.
But Xiao Jing completely turned the tables.
As a deity, Xiao Jing’s powers need no further introduction. Though she was still developing, each attack she dealt was still deadly. The bodies of some of the weaker demons exploded under her attacks.
As the outskirts of the North Desolate Mountain was embroiled in chaos, the demons looked at Xiao Jing in fear.
“How is this happening? Such power – what’s that demon made of? A golden-colored demon – don’t tell me, is that a Jade Crystal Beast?” The Demon Kraken, Mo Jiao, had yet to come back to his senses. By the time he did, another group of demons had fallen.
“The Demon Master ordered us to head towards the Desolation City and find the Jade Crystal Beast,” he said. “Who would’ve thought that it would end up in the hands of a human.”
Mo Jiao was shocked. The Jade Crystal Beast was a descendant of the Giant Dragon G.o.ds, but now she was somehow willing to be a battle tool for an ordinary human.
“Master Mo Hun is negotiating with the Devil Spirit Clan’s clan master,” he said. “I’ll lose if I try to fight that human head-on. I’ll report to Master Mo Hun. With his strength, he’ll be able to catch the Jade Crystal Beast.”
The Demon Kraken expanded his gigantic Demon Wings and flew toward the inner parts of the North Desolate Mountain, not giving his underlings a second thought.
“Xiao Jing, stop him,” Ye Mo shouted. “There must be better fighters inside the Demon City. We’ll destroy their external forces first, then we’ll meet up with Sister Miao Miao inside.”
Xiao Jing let out a roar, her footsteps left a golden glow in the snow where she stepped. She morphed into a golden ball of shadow and flew to block the Demon Kraken’s path.
“She’s too fast,” Mo Jiao said. then to her, “I know you can understand what I’m saying. You’re ultimately still a descendant of the Giant Dragon G.o.ds – you’re a holy presence. Why would you follow a mere mortal like this? You know that you’re nothing compared to what you used to be. This human can’t make you stronger.” Xiao Jing’s expression s.h.i.+fted, becoming less fierce. He continued, “The best choice for you is to fight by the Demon Master’s side. Come, return to the Demon City with me, and I’ll bring you to see the Demon Master.”
Caw!
Xiao Jing let out a scream, any sign of animosity vanis.h.i.+ng. Stepping on the golden glow, she walked gingerly towards the Demon Kraken.
“This Jade Crystal Beast’s spiritual consciousness is still unformed,” he said, grinning as he watched Xiao Jing slowly walk toward him. “She was too easy to persuade. Who cares about the Devil Refining Gourd, I’ll bring the Jade Crystal Beast back to the Demon City myself. If Master Mo Hun finds out about her, I won’t be able to claim credit.”
But when Xiao Jing got close to him, she snarled again. Releasing a claw strike, countless of golden crystal shards, each at least three meters long, morphed into raindrop-like shapes and attacked Mo Jiao.
Boom, boom, boom, boom!
The golden crystal stones pierced Mo Jiao before he could even react. His whole body was filled with the golden crystal shards until he looked like an ant’s nest.
The golden crystal stones were extremely durable and could be used as a weapon against opponents. It could easily pierce through even the body of a demon.
“You!” Mo Jiao looked at Xiao Jing in disbelief.
With his strength, no one would’ve been able to stop him had he tried to escape.
But getting tricked by a demon was the last thing that he would have expected to happen.
The seemingly harmless Xiao Jing was more devious than she looked.
Ahhhh!
Mo Hun’s blood spilled across the North Desolation Mountain. Body trembling, the golden crystal stones were sent flying. Demons behind him were pierced by the flying shards.
He reached for the sky. Midair, his body expanded and turned into a demonized thirty-meter long Kraken dragon. Blood still flowed down his body, dripping onto the snow.
Ye Mo wasn’t afraid of Mo Jiao at the peak of his powers – now that he was heavily injured, even in his true form Ye Mo had even fewer reasons to fear him. As Mo Jiao soared into the sky, Ye Mo disappeared as well.
When he appeared again, he was already beside Mo Jiao, his spear stabbing through his brain.
“Master Mo Jiao is dead, hurry up and escape.” A few demons yelled in fear as they lifted witnessed Mo Jiao’s death.
With his Sky Blood Spear, Ye Mo had stabbed right through the crown of Mo Jiao’s head. Mo Jiao’s gigantic corpse drop falling from the sky was a devastating sight to behold.
A demon in the initial stage of the Spirit Devour Realm was killed by a man in the Heaven’s Strength Realm, just like that. It was unimaginable to the watching demons, but they had all seen it happen.
With Mo Jiao’s death, the demons’ spirits were shattered.
Xiao Jing made her move again, stepping on a golden glow. Every attack ended in death.
A brief display of martial technique was all it took to destroy all the demons around the mountain.
“Xiao Jing, let’s go!” Ye Mo shouted as he plunged into the North Desolation mountain.
North Desolation Mountain, Lingyun Cave Entrance:
Two groups of men were stood across from each other, trapped in a stalemate. One group, the men guarding the entrance of the Lingyun Cave, were Spirit Foxes. Their leader was slightly bigger than the rest, his furry silver-colored fox tail flicking angrily. It made a tiny whirlwind of snow.
Behind him was an extremely handsome man clad in the attire of the Door of Desolation.
Miao Miao also stood behind the man with a fierce look on her face.
“Silver Fox Clan Master, I have no more time to waste waiting on you. Are you going to hand over the Devil Refining Gourd or not?” the speaker wore a black cape on his back, had two sharp horns on his head and two rows of ferocious teeth in his mouth – a fearful sight. From his aura, he was in the Transcendence Realm.
The three Spirit Devour Realm demons behind him were no pushovers either.
“Mo Hun, the Door of Desolation already knows you brought so many demons to the North Desolate Mountain. They’ll send disciples to destroy your army.”
“Haha, a sacrifice I’m willing to male for the Devil Refining Gourd.” Mo Hun smiled easily. “The Demon Master will use it against you. So what if we lose the Devil Army. They should be glad of the chance to die for the glory of the Demon Clan.”
“You brought your army to attack and seal my mountain,” the Silver Fox Clan Master said harshly. “Don’t think I don’t know why. I know you’re afraid of the Devil Refining Gourd. Tell me, what do you think your chances are if I decide to unleash it?”
“Hmph, the Devil Refining Gourd.” Mo Hun sneered. “Take it out and let me see it, if you can.”
“We’re not going to just let you peek at the Devil Refining Gourd,” Miao Miao said viciously.
Thus, the stalemate: Mo Hun didn’t dare attack, for fear of the Devil Refining Gourd’s power, while the master of the Silver Fox Clan knew that, with the gourd sealed, its powers were useless.
