Three days later.
Ji Zhiyao woke up really early, showered, and changed into a freshly-washed white s.h.i.+rt and black jeans, feeling wholly clean and refreshed.
Yesterday, the crew of the shopping center called him according to the details he had left, letting him know that he had been successfully chosen to be part of the amateur team and to go to level one of Silver Place for a match against W.J. this morning.
Ji Zhiyao was a little excited.
While Fi-G.o.d whom he encountered a few days ago was his first opponent who was a professional player, competing live against a professional team was still a first for him.
Whether or not the disparity between leisure players and professional players was a chasm that could not be crossed, he could not wait to find out.
After tidying himself up, a look at the wall clock told him that it was only 9 am. The compet.i.tion was set at 10:30 am, and it only takes him less than half an hour to go from his home to Silver Throne.
Yet, the remaining time was not enough to do the livestream session for today.
Hence, crossing one leg over the other and scrolling through Weibo, he laid back on his bed at peace with his conscience,
There were not many events about Heroes. After going through the posts of several well-known gaming accounts that he follows, Ji Zhiyao grew bored and starting casually scrolling through the hot and exploration pages.
Scrolling and scrolling, he was a little sleepy from reading.
Just as the phone was about to fall on his face, Ji Zhiyao caught a glimpse of a phrase, “In the morning three days ago, Fi-G.o.d…”
Recalling the match he had played with Fi-G.o.d, he lifted his legs and nimbly turned over to read the post.
“In the morning three days ago, Fi-G.o.d was up early and led me in a match. He was absolutely manly QAQ 1 !!! Not only did he not despise my terrible skills, he even said that I had eighth-grade syndrome when I apologized to him. *sobs*~ was actually a little upset, but watching Fi-G.o.d trash the opposing team while drinking yogurt, I somehow felt better again~”
Below there, several HD screenshots were attached. The screenshots were of the game’s open chat.
Out of nowhere, Ji Zhiyao suddenly had a sense that somehow this was related to the match he had played. Thus, he tapped to view the photos, wanting to make out the situation.
The first image was of a username that was covered and followed by the words “QAQ, don’t mind me. Although my skills are lousy now, once I train for a period of time, I will definitely be able to protect you!”
The username in the second image was not covered. It was Mix.Fi. The words following it were direct. “I think you got eighth-grade syndrome.”
The third image did not even capture the username but only a simple phrase: “Let me be the one to protect you.”
The fourth image was a conversation. The covered username said “Fi-G.o.d lagging?” to which Mix.Fi replied “Opening the yogurt cover.”
The fifth image was the results of the match. With the exception of Fi-G.o.d, all the other usernames were covered.
With a dull clatter, the phone slid down while Ji Zhiyao was still staring aghast at the screen.
He did not know how to even describe how he felt right now. If he were to make a comparison, it was probably as annoyed and helpless as one was when realizing in the end that it was just a loose screw of an electric lamp causing all the commotion in an issue of .
This blogger girl was probably a big dreamer.
Ji Zhiyao swallowed his saliva to calm down and tapped to enter the profile.
An influencer with little fame with five to six ten thousand fans; other than selfies, her posts only consisted of ambiguous screenshots.
Fi-G.o.d was not the first person whom she had created a deliberate misinterpretation out of context using screenshots, but he was definitely the most famous one.
Ji Zhiyao was suddenly angry.
His anger had appeared out of the blue, and he was so caught off guard that even he himself could not tell if it was because he was present yet unknowing of the whole incident or because Fi-G.o.d was being used by someone to gain attention.
He scratched his head in frustration and cursed quietly.
