My fear didn"t come to be a reality, my aunt didn"t make any move to comment about the fact that I had tried to appraise her. It would seem that she wasn"t petty, or maybe there was another reason she"d chosen to not reveal my secret to anyone.

I let out a breath that I hadn"t realized I"d been holding. It was a relief that my skill hadn"t been exposed.

"Brother, why didn"t you tell me that my dear little niece was so adorable, I would have come to visit her sooner," she laughs softly as she steps forward towards me.

Her body drifts forward like a specter, she moved so soundlessly it was as if she didn"t have any ma.s.s. It was like her body was a shadow, it was there but there was no substance to it.

"We had no idea where you were sister, the last that we heard from you, you"d been in the territory of the merfolk," my father says with a small sigh as he looks at his sister.

My aunt arrived in front of me, the closer she got to me the more I realized that she was a bit of a frightening existence. To become a Vessel to a G.o.ddess was no simple feat, it was something that required a special characteristic. If one was successful in becoming the Vessel for a G.o.d, they"d be able to exert the force of a G.o.d as well.

This would also allow a G.o.d or G.o.ddess to take on a physical form in the material realm.

Holding out her hand, she waits for me to reach out and take it. Steeling my nerves, I reach out my hand and place it into hers. Her hand was like ice, it felt like no life was in her flesh. It was as if the feeling of death was slowly creeping into my body.

However, the feeling didn"t persist.

"I apologize, I had a calling from the G.o.ddess that I couldn"t ignore. It happened so sudden that I couldn"t send word to you, to let you know how to contact me," she says with a slight dip of her head in apology.

"Yet, I think we should be paying more attention to the little one, then my vanishing," she recovers quickly with a laugh.

I wanted to roll my eyes, this woman was shameless, she"s the one that had brought it up. I just shook my head internally at her antics.

"If you"d be so kind my dear to open your life page," my aunt says to me softly. Her hand was still holding mine, but the frightening chill had lessened.

I look towards my Mother; her emerald eyes are tranquil. She gives me a slight nod of her head as if to rea.s.sure me that it was okay to show my life page. I look away from her and duck my head, my hair sliding to cover my face.

A complex emotion was born in my heart at the moment, I was worried about what they"d seen on my life page. I had the t.i.tle "Reincarnated Person," I didn"t know how they would take that. I wasn"t ready for this sort of trail that had been placed before me.

My mind was unsteady…

"Don"t worry about it, trust your family…"

I jerk my head up at the soft sound of a voice. It was nothing more than a whisper, but I was sure that I"d heard it as clear as day.

Was that a G.o.d?

Gritting my teeth, I suck in a deep breath through clenched teeth.

"Life Page Open," I mutter softly.

「Life Page Open! 」

The same clear screen that I had seen before appeared in front of my face. I turn and look at my aunt and an ever-calm smile was still resting on her lips. It was a little unnerving to look at her.

"Now say "visualize"," she tells me with a nod of her head.

"Visualize!"

「Life Page Visualizing」

With that notification, the page in front of my face transformed from clear to a black screen with golden writing on it. I reach out my hand and touch it; it didn"t feel much different but I could tell that others could see the page as well now.

"Perfect my dear, shall we take a look at your life page?" Aunt Sorina says with a small smile on her lips and she peers closer at my page. I felt my throat close as she looks at the page. I can"t help but squeeze my eyes shut in antic.i.p.ation.

As the second"s tick by I could feel the bundle of nerves in my stomach winds tighter and tighter in my stomach. Peering an eye open, I look at my aunt"s face, but the smile on her lips never wavered in the least.

Her open eye quickly scanned the screen, and when she was done as leans back and raises her hand to pat me on the head. I raise an eyebrow at her and look for any indication of what she might be thinking, for something, anything about what she thought.

However, it seems that my Aunt had a very good poker face because I couldn"t read her at all.

"She"s indeed your Daughter," my aunt finally commented as she gives me a small wink. Then she stepped back and my Mother moves in here place to take a look.

Had she not seen the "reincarnated person" t.i.tle?!

My Father also moved into place behind my Mother and look at my life page. I suck in short breaths trying to calm down my mind. Salem was the only one that didn"t make any move to look at my "life page."

He has an indifferent expression on his face.

"That"s my little girl!" My father"s voice broke the silence that had enveloped my mind. He reaches his arms out and scoops me up into them, he swung me over my mother"s head and held me close to his chest.

I felt my eyes widen as he smushed me into his chest.

"Father?" I question as he holds me tightly and I cough slightly. It felt like he was smooshing all the bones in my body, but it was a comfortable smush.

My mother let out a soft laugh as she watched us with her emerald eyes. The fear that I felt, thinking that my family might reject me when they saw my life page, completely vanished. I didn"t have anything to worry about at this point, as far as them possibly rejecting me.

"Don"t be surprised my dear, your father is just very happy that you"ve got the 「appraisal skill」. That"s something that can make or break a good merchant and you"ve gotten that coveted special skill. If your father had it his way, he"d drag you with him on his business meetings. But I plan to enroll you in adventure school," she giggles as she glances as my Father and me.

A lot of emotions roll through my body at that moment, it was a mixture of relief and confusion. Had they not seen the other two skills, and the t.i.tle, and the other blessing?!

"Blood plum, she"s a natural-born merchant, I knew that the moment I held her in my arms, that my baby girl would be a splendid merchant," my father retorts at my mother as she smiles down at me.

She tilts her head and gives my father a watery smile.

"How funny, the moment that I held her, I knew that she"d become a great adventurer just like me," she raises an eyebrow towards me father and a chill runs up my spine.

My Mother defiantly wore the pants in the family, when it came to her children.

"Blood plum be reasonable why would you send our daughter into those dungeons; you know about all the unspeakable things that happen in there. Not to mention the danger of being an adventurer," my father says. As he tried to play it"s not safe to send our baby into a dungeon card.

But she wasn"t hearing any of it.

"Darling, you know that she has the blessing of "Blessed Child of Death," that"s an amazing blessing."

She was standing her ground in her views. She took a step forward moving in closer toward my father and me. Seeing this my Father leans down and places me on the ground.

My aunts" hands come around my shoulder as she pulls me back towards her. I look up and find her smiling down at me. With a wink, she flicks her finger and the life page that was still in front of me vanishes. I want to ask her how she did that, but she raises a finger to my mouth and smiles.

It seems like she was telling me not to ask. She was even more complicated than I originally thought she was.

"We shouldn"t allow her skill to be wasted, she"d make a phenomenal merchant," my father continued to verbally hash it out with my Mother.

This was the first time I"d seen them disagree on something, and my father not conceding to my mother within the first couple of seconds of the argument.

"Exactly, she"d be an even more gifted adventurer, an a.s.set to both the family and herself. It would allow her to also live in comfort for her whole life," my mother argued.

"It"d be the same if she was to be a merchant, or are you saying that having our baby girl being a merchant and safe, isn"t better than her putting herself in harm"s way?"

I could feel the air turning a bit sour, things weren"t looking great at the moment. Watching both of my parents argue was like watching a snake and a mongoose fight, each was will to wage battle for as long as needed.

I didn"t like it one bit.

"Mother! Father!" I raise my voice, and everyone turns to look at me.

It was like being put underneath a spotlight, but I didn"t let it bother me. Clearing my throat, I fix my eyes on both of my parents.

"Shouldn"t I be allowed to decide what I want to do with my life?" I ask them both.

A look of surprise flashes across their faces, but my Father was the first to nod his head in agreement. It seems like he was thinking it through and realizing that I was my own person.

My mother, on the other hand, was a bit hesitant as she looks towards me. But after a few moments pa.s.s, she takes a deep breath and seems to clear her mind.

"Blood plum, she"s right. It isn"t for us to decide what she"ll do in the future, we"ll have to let her choose," my father says while reaching a hand out to my mother.

She glances at his hand, before an enchanting smile slides onto her lips. She reaches out and take my father"s hand, he whisks her into his arms.

"Then, my dear, what do you want to do?" She asks me.

Clenching my fist, I raise my eyes to meet my parents.

"I want to be an adventurer and a merchant!"
