The ma.s.sive tentacles suddenly went limp and crashed back into the sea. The smaller tentacles on the ship went limp as well. The Captain stood there is disbelief. The Kraken died? How, why? What happened? A Kraken doesn"t just go limp…it dies!?The entire ship was quieter than a cemetery. Today they all witnessed the impossible. Something killed a Kraken.
One random sailor slowly came to his senses, "We are alive? WE ARE ALIVE!"
The entire deck roared in cheers. The captain ordered to cut the tentacles before they fell into the sea, "Today, WE EAT KRAKEN!"
Celty came running up the stairs towards the helm, "Wha" I tell ya Cap"ain, WHA" I TELL YA!"
He instinctively patted her on the head, "Your gut instincts saved this ship, the crew and the pa.s.sengers on board. n.o.body is going to believe this stupidly, ridiculous tale. Who was this man?! Is he a demiG.o.d or something?"
Celty went quiet. She didn"t see him surface. She feared the worst. He made a promise to him…and kept it. She might even have a son one day, because of him. She quietly cried when she looked away from the captain. The captain just placed his had on her shoulder to comfort her
Anastacia looked at the water. The creature had died, but Annixon hadn"t surfaced. She couldn"t hold it in any longer and howled her lungs out in heartbreak. Everybody could hear the agonizing sound. Sinah herself grabbed the shirt that was Annixon"s, and quietly cried herself
Annixon burst out the water, completely out of breath, "SON OF A b.i.t.c.h! I HAVE BEEN DOWN THERE FOR FIVE FREAKING MINUTES. I THOUGHT MY LUNGS WERE GOING TO EXPLODE."
Everybody went quiet. Anastacia began to panic, "Sinah get the rope. GET THE ROPE!"
They both ran to pick up the rope and tossed it towards Annixon who gladly accepts it. He pulled himself up and he saw the two girls in tears, "What, you think a measly little Kraken can stop me? That"s insulting!"
They both ran to him and embraced him in a hug that he thought was busy breaking his bones, while crying all the while, "Somebody had to do it kiddos. Might as well have been me."
Anastacia came to her senses, "Don"t you ever leave me."
"What and break my promise. Ain"t gonna happen, kiddo. I promised I will look after you. So, you are stuck with me."
Sinah hesitantly spoke up, "What about me?"

"A dumb question gets a dumb answer.", as he pats her on the head. She immediately knew what it meant and smiled. Hugging him more.
He looked around for a bit, "Uuhm, I am still hungry. When"s breakfast?"
A deep voice went off to his right, "If you are willing to wait a bit longer, we can make you some fresh Kraken. By the way, n.o.body has ever had Kraken before."
Annixon studied the man.
He was large and gruff. He exuded peaceful confidence. Like a natural leader. He had a ma.s.sive beard with a ponytail at the end. His black hair did the same. The beard covered a lot, but his eyes were as friendly as they came. He was also well dressed and wore a peculiar hat. Like that of a pirate captain.
Annixon smiled, "Finally, I get the honor of meeting the Captain."
Celty was standing next to him. She looked restless. The captain noticed it, "It"s fine, little Celty. Go on."
She ran full speed into him, knocking his wind out, "You actually di" keep ya promise."
"I do try and keep my promises, but next time slow down a bit. I am still finding my air."
"Oh sorry, didn" mean tha"."
He patted her head and turned towards the captain, "Captain. If ever there is someone that deserved the praise it would be her."
The Captain smiled and went down on one knee, "Aye, I do recognize her efforts, but I recognize yours even more."
Annixon was starting to freak out, "What are you doing?"
"You saved everyone on this ship…including my daughter. For that, I can never repay you enough. You are my most honored of guests. Whatever you need I am at your service."
"Dude, seriously, don"t bow. I have a thing about that. Wait, Celty is your daughter?"
"No, master? I never did get your name."
"Annixon Bright, yours?"
"Like a beacon of hope in dire times, an appropriate name. My name is Captain Duval Marigold, but you can just call me Duval, young master."
"Annixon is fine, really."
"My daughter is a recluse and always keeps to herself. She remains in my personal cabin, and would never come out to do anything. Trauma with her mother when she was nothing more than a young munchkin."
Annixon rubbed his chin for a bit, "I have some dealings with Post-traumatic stress syndrome."
"What is that?"
"It"s what your daughter is going through. If you don"t mind I could try and help her."
"Do you ever try and stop helping people?"
"Of course, I do. First, I p.i.s.sed off an elven barracks and then a city lord. That"s gotta count right?"
Duval raised an eyebrow but ignored it. He turned around to face the gathering sailor and shouted, "Today we feast. Today we eat KRAKEN! One of the most dangerous creatures of the sea and this young man will be my guest of honor."
They all cheered in unison.
Annixon just held his stomach, "But, I am so hungry."
They cooked the meat in record time and brought out different kinds of food. Freshly baked bread. All sorts of jams, cheeses, baked desserts, dried fruits and nuts, and don"t forget the main meal. The meat that they were able to save before the Kraken sank to the bottom of the ocean.
Dulan poured some beer into a wooden mug and gave one to Annixon. They both cheered and downed as Duval proclaimed, "Here sits the craziest, most suicidal son of a b.i.t.c.h I have ever had the pleasure to meet."
Everyone cheered in unison. It was a bit awkward for Annixon, but he sucked it up for the girls who seemed to be enjoying themselves. After how many rounds of beer he kind off lost track of time.
He woke up the next morning with a splitting headache. He had a quick look around. Everyone was laying around sleeping on the tables. Around him, he was resting against Duval, as the three other girls slept on him. Sinah was sitting and sleeping on his lap. Anastacia had her head on his shoulders as Celty was sleeping against his legs, and the only thing that went through his head was, "Aren"t they too young to be drinking?"
