Annixon and Athena made their way down to get some breakfast. Maania was in a chipper mood when she saw Annixon and grabbed him by the arm, "You will sit here."Annixon chuckled, "You"ve changed."
"You have changed me Annixon Bright. So what do you want to eat?"
"Well, I can"t eat solids yet, so. Porridge or soup."
"Well, I could make you some gruel."
"That would be fine"
She smiled at him and went off to go make him some food.
Annixon waited for everyone to settle down before he spoke up to the entire table, "Everyone, I want you to listen up. I think it time we go have a little chat with the Baron. Athena how much money was offered to slay the beast?"
"The amount got drastically more after the necromancer interceded. The message was that I can go claim it whenever I want."
"It sounds that you haven"t claimed it yet?"
"Yes, how can I claim something when I wasn"t the one to kill it?"
"Nooo, you are the reason that thing is dead."
"Stop making it sound like I did anything. You are the reason that it was successful, all I did was just shoot. I didn"t even aim."
"You would have been richer for it."
"I do not care about money. In fact, I used the money I saved up and split it all up amongst the families that were in my team."
Annixon scratched his beard, "Well that basically means the money is still up for grabs. How much was it."
Maania placed his food in front of him as he took a bite Athena spoke up, "Five thousand Ducats."
Annixon spat the food out he was eating spraying it all over Juliza. Juliza exclaimed, "GROSS! That stuff is supposed to go down the gullet, not my face!"
Maania lightly knocked him over the head. Annixon could only laugh, "My bad, my bad. I was just a bit surprised…that is a lot of dosh. In that case. This is my plan…"
He explained his idea to them and their different roles in it.
Back at the Baron"s house.
A surprisingly beautiful Dracana showed up. The Baron was waiting to receive her.
She stepped out of the carriage, "h.e.l.lo my dear husband." She walked over to him and kissed him on the check. He reciprocated, "h.e.l.lo Sidero. You made good time."
The two walked arm in arm, but anyone could sense the tension between the two. They didn"t speak a word until they were behind closed doors.
Sidero was the first to speak. She wore an elegant red dress and she was adorned with all sorts of jewelry. Long black hair and with provocative red eyes. Her horns had black coloring, "My son got hurt, dear husband. What happened?"
"He had an unfortunate run-in with a hard object."
"Mmm, you really think I am going to believe that? Remember this place is part of my domain and I can cripple it in a heartbeat. You need us, we don"t need your port. Now what really happened to my son?"
The Baron despised the woman. The only reason he was married to her was that his father wanted an alliance with them. They were a rich and wealthy family, as well as highly influential in the court. He wanted to break things off after his father died but now they were too reliant on the trade that their city brought. The Marina Family. A dangerous group to have as a foe. They would rather sack his city than lose it, "That was the report I got, my dear wife."
"You take me for a fool, Kedrick!?"
He remained silent. He continued, "My spies said he was attacked. He continued, "My spies said he was attacked. Your soldiers did a p.i.s.s poor job protecting my son. I want their heads as well as this attacker."
The spies again He could have sworn he got rid of them all, "Sidero, I will not have you dictate how I handle affairs in my city. I trust mu soldiers with my life. Do you trust yours?"
"You better stop testing me Kedrick. The Marina family shouldn"t be taken lightly, now do as you"re to…"
There was a knock on the door, "My lord. A man has arrived to claim the prize for slaying the beast and necromancer."
"That"s impossible. The only man that could do that is dead. The prize belongs to Athena and she refused it."
"She"s here to my lord."
"What?!"
He turned to Sidero, "We will talk about this another time. I need to see this."
"Of course Athena would make an excellent wife for Alexon."
"If it is who I think it is you might want to refrain from that course of action."
"Oh? Who might this be?"
"My possible future freedom."
Valiant was on his way to check up on something with the Baron when he entered the waiting room. What he saw there scared him so bad he was flat on his a.s.s. He struggled to remove his swords from his scabbard while exclaiming, "You should be dead!"
Annixon decided to have with it. He stood up and tried walking like a zombie, "Uugh, I am undead. I am here to eat your brains and take my revenge."
He started freaking out.
Annixon rolled his eyes, "I ain"t here for you. I am here to speak with your Baron. On a strictly professional level by the way."
"But how? Ma.s.ses came to your burial."
"I had a very mean apothecary. Truth be told I was never dead. Just my heart was beating very slowly, giving the illusion of death. Then I got buried. That was fun."
Anastacia happened to be with him, "You are never going to let us live this down."
Annixon happily laughed, "Of course not! Where is the fun in that!?"
Valiant relaxed and sheathed his sword, "d.a.m.n, I would rather not face you as an undead. Their magic immunity makes them a seriously difficult foe. That was one seriously c.r.a.ppy joke, man. I am relieved though."
"Oh?"

"Yeah, with you alive a lot of people can sleep peacefully again. That little demonstration in town with the Baron"s son put a lot of hearts at ease."
"Then will you do me a favor?"
"If it is within my power. Sure, what is it?"
"Spread the word that I am still alive."
"That I can do." He said it with a smile, "But what brings you here?"
"I am here to claim my prize."
"The prize for killing the necromancer and the Decay beast, right."
"Yeah, little Athena here felt bad for taking it. I don"t, but this also gave me the opportunity to speak with your Baron"
"Be careful of his wife."
