I nodded my head. And just like Faylen, Knightglen Jim and Knightglen Vince, I looked at the road ahead.

Tiger Zais heavily breathed out of her mouth and looked where Knightglen Jim, Knightglen Vince, Faylen and I were looking – at the road ahead.

"Zais forgot what she said. And Jim and Vince forgot what she said as well. Then why didn"t Faylen forget? She is an NPC just like them. Is it because she didn"t encounter the man that Zais, Jim and Vince encountered? And if so, then would my memory also get erased if I encountered him? What a terrifying but an impossible thought. It has already been proven many times that human memories can"t be erased and if they could be, then it would be illegal," I thought to myself, furrowed my eyebrows and cold sweat poured down my back as I realised that the situation I was in couldn"t be legal either.

For the first time in my life, I felt fear grip my heart. And so, I took in a deep breath through my nose, closed my eyes, held it in for a few seconds as I went through each and every one of my memories. Then, I breathed out of my mouth and opened my eyes. "There aren"t any gaps in my memories. The devs didn"t erase any one of them, yet. What about the NPCs? How can they erase memories? Zais, Jim and Vince met the man with violet eyes more than 1 or 2 days ago, but they lost their memories of him just now. It could only be magic. And if its magic then I have nothing to fear as I have > skill which makes me immune to all magical effects," I thought to myself and looked at Faylen. "Faylen."

Faylen looked at me. "What is it, big sister Astrid?"

Knightglen Jim, Knightglen Vince and Tiger Zais looked at me and Faylen.

"You once said that you could feel magic in yourself and me," I said. "Is the magic that you feel inside me different from the magic that you feel inside yourself?"

Faylen smiled. "You mean mana, big sister Astrid. But yes, the mana which I feel inside you is different from the mana which I feel inside myself."

"Do you feel mana in Zais, Vince and Jim?" I said.

Faylen nodded her head. "I did just a moment ago. But it"s gone now."

I looked at Tiger Zais. "Zais, I want you to repeat after me."

Tiger Zais nodded her head. "Okay, Astrid."

I looked at Faylen. "I want you to watch Zais, Jim and Vince and see if that mana appears inside them again."

Faylen nodded her head. "Okay, big sister Astrid."

"Do you want us to do anything, G.o.d," Knightglen Jim said and Knightglen Vince nodded his head.

I looked at the two of them. "Just listen to Zais"s words and try to remember."

"Okay," Knightglen Jim and Knightglen Vince said in unison as they nodded their heads.

I looked at Tiger Zais. "Are you ready?"

Tiger Zais nodded her head. "Yes, I am ready."

I began speaking and Tiger Zais repeated my every word, "When Pete was dead, and Vince, Jim and I were midway to Moonbright, he appeared in front of us. The most beautiful man with short black hair, dark-purple eyes and not wearing a single shred of clothing. Not even of his family jewels. What happened next was something which I wish I could erase from my memory. But never will. I looked into his dark-purple eyes and then. I can"t remember. I looked into his… His? I looked… looked? What were we talking about just now?"

I looked at Faylen. "Well?"

Faylen shook her head. "There was nothing, big sister Astrid."

"I see," I said and looked lover Tiger Zais, Knightglen Jim and Knightglen Vince. "Did any one of you remember anything?"

"I remember that I said – what were we talking about just now, but nothing before that," Tiger Zais said.

"Yeah. I also remember that lady Zais said – what were we talking about just now, but I don"t remember anything before then," Knigtglen Vince said.

"Yeah," Knightglen Jim said.

"I see," I said and looked at the road ahead. Then, Faylen, Tiger Zais, Knightglen Jim and Knightglen Vice looked at the road ahead as well.

I saw a few slimes into the distance. "Faylen, protect Zais, Jim and Vince, I am going to deal with the slimes ahead."

Tiger Zais, Knightglen Jim, Knightglen Vice and Faylen looked at me. "Okay, big sister Astrid. I will protect them."

I nodded my head, unsheathed my two weapons and ran towards the slimes.
