The Sinners' Queen

Chapter 219

The Confession Crazed was not really a mystery.

Gio had merely sent a small present to his uncle.

Each of the women in the country who had emails or access to the internet received his list of instructions.

The contents were different, depending on the age, but all their last task was similar.

Before the night ends, they must send at least a hundred confessions or marriage proposals to the emails or addresses provided. If they were bold enough, they could also choose to send videos or even do public confessions.

There was no need to change the contents, no matter what method they chose. But he emphasized that they must spam the receiver with as many they could.

Once they sent proof of completing all the steps, they would receive some cash.

Even though the ordeal sounded so stupid, thankfully many women fell for it. Must be the fault of the one hundred credits advance payment which he sent beforehand and the promised five thousand credits that would enter their accounts if they completed the missions.

Gio decided to be generous just this once to fully show the Albarez" head that his respect for the elders should not be abused or taken for granted again.

Even without waiting for the next morning to arrive, he was sure the self-proclaimed Business King of Alina City had already become the headlines of many news stations and publications.

Gio was even suspecting that his and Sofony"s engagement would only come second tomorrow.

But he would not mind, really. As long as his uncle would take in the farcical greeting gift the way he expected.

"You want to control my life? Hmm? Come again? You mean you"re simply too bored with yours? Oh. Must be hard growing old by yourself so here"s a bunch of women more than willing to give you sons and problems to deal with," he laughed to himself as he carried his woman to their new bedroom.

...

East Alina. Purple Shadow Residences.

A day pa.s.sed and all of them were already back to Alina City.

Since then, Chris couldn"t take off his mind from the pitiful boy he saw in his dreams.

Just last night he was summoned to that dark place to accompany the boy.

The kid"s state had never improved. Chris felt pain at this fact hence there were many times that he wanted to rescue him.

The problem was that this small guy didn"t know where he was.

He only knew that his name was Milo, and that he was a level 2 system user, number 765.

This was the other problem. Milo was a level lower than him. And according to him, he had never gone out of this place ever since he became a host.

The little guy had been there ever since his current AI bound itself to him.

Milo was sold to the owner of that huge underground dungeon a year ago by his own father... and was made into an immoral host through all the tortures and mistreatment that he received...

"Sighs!"

Bothered and p.r.i.c.ked by his conscience, the hacker did his best to search for any information about "Catastrophe", name of the organization according to Milo, all over the internet and even deep web. But for some reason, there was just nothing to be found in there.

"It seems that woman is really correct," he thought, frustratedly leaning his back on the swivel chair"s backrest.

"This organization must be the same as the one I have just tried to investigate last time. But the problem is which of those locations."

When he went to C Empire he confirmed through a peripheral member there that the organization indeed had several such other places.

The alarming fact actually was that aside from Sofony"s knowledge shared to him which was gotten from the amputated mercenaries, he first got clues of their existence from some highly cla.s.sified files of C Empire"s National Intel Bureau.

"If all those experiments and tortures are to create immoral hosts like us, it simply means that one or several political higher-ups of C Empire know a thing or two about the system and how normal people could become like us."

When considered from this angle, it was quite frightening since it denotes that the C Empire"s government was involved with the organization which does all sorts of inhumane practices.

"Is this what they called true patriotism? Milo"s features and name was not that of a local C Empire citizen. It could mean that those made a slave or experimental subjects are from other countries..."

The thought made him release a deep sigh. He couldn"t extricate himself from the matter because he had already been involved. But even though he got involved without his permission or consent, he couldn"t find the heart to get angry at the kid who only subconsciously summon him in his dreams.

"Thanks, big bro... for coming here again... for me... Please come again,... and tell me of more wonderful things... about the outside world."

Towards the small boy who said these naive and innocent words to him with a very pure but heartbreaking smile, how could he have to heart to think of him as a bother?

When the system first heard of him recounting about Milo, it asked him,

The question was stupid. But it has a high likelihood of being the case.

The boy had been kept in darkness for so long. Loneliness and lack of hope for freedom was not his only adversary, but physical and emotional tortures too.

With his mother dead, it must have hurt so badly to be abandoned by his father too. No. Not abandoned.

The father must have thought his deeds wouldn"t be found out, but with the system filling Milo with his real situation from time to time, the kid learned of his real situation in that place.

Chris was already quite old, but still thinks of Milo"s situation as very heart-wrenching. What more of the kid"s fragile heart?

The problem with the boy was that even if he wanted to become in the dark about the whole matter to lessen the pain, the system was a b.a.s.t.a.r.d existence that kept reporting him the truth.

"Maybe it"s already amazing that when I met him, instead of wis.h.i.+ng for the world"s destruction, he wants to vanish and just be released from the pain."

A second later, he grimaced, "Unfortunately, that in itself too, was not a healthy way of thinking. Especially for someone as young as him..."

At its sudden words, Chris was jostled out of his train of thoughts.

"Chris? Are you listening?"

Wow. Its reminder was quite timely, huh.

He was in his own house, talking to his manager through a video chat.

"Ahm, System, what did he just tell me?"

He acted as if he was thinking about something while waiting for its reply.

It answered,

As if on cue, the manager"s chastising voice rang.

"Chris, we can"t just back out. Especially without a valid reason. Even if we tell that we have actually accepted another and there would be a conflict of schedule, I doubt it will work given Director Dave"s influence and extensive contacts in the industry."

"... What a headache. I feel bad that all I"m thinking about is mind-controlling my manager to end this talk."

He sighed and sincerely requested, "Please help me arrange a meeting with the director. I"ll tell him my real reason then."

His manager held her forehead and said, "I guess we can only do that. I"m sure Director Dave already has bad opinions of you."

The half-host didn"t take it to heart though. He was really more concerned about that kid. And even if he was not, he had a promise to keep.
