"Are you alright?" They had been eating supper when Zylvia had swiftly left the table and ran from the room, prompting her husband to follow her and ask this question.Kaldrek had found his wife leaning against the wall, her head pushed against her arm. She had heard him and said that she was fine, even though she definitely did not look it.
He leaned beside of her and taking her by the arm pulled her gently against him. He decked a kiss on the top of her head and then tilted her head up to face him. "Are you sure you are okay? Because, Zylv, you do not look okay."
Her face was pale and she looked slightly sick. But she leaned into him and shook her head, "I"m fine. Just a little sick to my stomach. But I"ll be fine."
"Do you know what happened?" Kaldrek gently brushed some hair from her face.
She bit her lip, and her eyes met his. They were bright and clear, making him acknowledge that she was indeed fine, "Just the smell of the food made my stomach turn. But I am sure I"ll be fine. Thank you for checking up on me."
"Of course. Is your stomach still upset? Do you want to finish supper? Would you rather lie down? Or-?"
"Lying down sounds wonderful right now." His wife leaned forward and kissed him gently before walking to their bedroom.
Kaldrek accompanied her and hovered worriedly by her. Zylvia did not usually get sick, especially to her stomach. He was worried that this was a bigger deal than she was letting on.
She propped their pillow up and leaned against it, "You should go finish eating…I"ll be fine."
"Nu-uh." Kaldrek shook his head and climbed up beside her, "No way. I am not leaving my precious lady when she is not feeling well."
"But –"
"I am not hungry anyway." He a.s.sured her and stroked her hair, "So no buts."
She let out a sigh, and leaned against his shoulder, "Alright. If you insist…"
Her words trailed off and she closed her eyes. He felt her squirming as she tried to find a more comfortable position. He pulled her on top of him and let her use his body to conform to. She relaxed and her lips curled up in a smile.
"Hey Kaldrek?" She murmured from where her head was buried in his chest.
"Mm?" He was continuously stroking her hair and back, trying to do whatever he could to help her.
"I love you." He felt his wife"s nose touch his neck and rub gently against him. "And I already am feeling better."
"Thar"s good," He kept his arms around, feeling comfortable. He felt drowsy and realized that he was about to fall asleep on her. He turned his head and began placing kisses on her face and top of her head. "I love you too, Zylv. You"re my world."
He peeked at her now blushing face and smiled to himself. He loved the fact that he could make his wife blush so easily. She looked absolutely adorable with her cheeks so red. She laughed softly and borrowed deeper into his arms.
Kaldrek focused on his wife"s breathing, on the soft tickle of her breath against his lower neck. He absolutely loved this woman. She really did mean the world to him and he would gladly spend his whole life proving it to her.
His eyes closed and he lowered his arm so he was holding her waist more snugly. Her soft breathing had a relaxing effect on his tired body and he found himself swiftly slipping into unconsciousness.
He was a bit worried about falling asleep on her, but knew that if she needed him then she could easily wake him up. Kaldrek had never been the deepest of sleepers.
