The Story Of Dusk

Chapter 30

Qi Xunyi gave a start when he opened his eyes. The first thing that he felt was the throbbing pain on his shoulder and the memory of the b.l.o.o.d.y scene inside the underground welcomed him. He bolted up and examined his surroundings.

He was inside a dimly room without a single window, hence, he didn"t know if it was night or day. He tried to get off from the bed, but only in the second steps his legs already gave a way. He slumped on the ground with both hand supported his body, in this position the wound on his shoulder stretched and he let out a deep groaned by the sharp pain.

"Prince, You can"t get off of the bed yet." A chirped sound from in front of him made Qi Xunyi raised his head only to looking a skinny boy around 12 years old ran toward his direction, knelt down and helped him to stand up.

Despite that, his tinny body couldn"t possible to support a grown up man like Qi Xunyi, not to mention the man also didn"t have energy left on him to stand by himself.

Both of their attempted only resulted by blood smeared on the bandage on Qi Xunyi shoulder that indicated the wound on his arms opened again.

Looking the blood, the boy"s eyes widen, his round face was etched with fear. "I will call Uncle Ye Xiu." He said and dashed out from the room.

With the mentioned of Ye Xiu"s name, Qi Xunyi tensed body relaxed a bit. At least he wasn"t in enemy"s hand.

While waiting for the a.s.sistance, he recalled the last thing that had happened on the verge of the situation.

"Modama…" He hissed the name. He recalled the man named Gong Xu had successfully escaped with him.

Qi Xunyi was very sure if Prince Xiao Tianyao chose to ignore him and his mother, he would have high chance to catch them, but the bad consequences were him and his mother to burden. Both of them, would be death by now, since he was wounded and couldn"t fight.

He sighed and praised Xiao Tianyao"s wise decision to spare his life.

Ye Xiu and the boy came not too long afterwards, without saying anything Ye Xiu helped him to stand up and laid him on the bed.

"Sheng, called the doctor." He said in low voice that sounds like grumble.

"What happened?" Qi Xunyi asked between his gritted teeth.

"You have been unconscious for two weeks, it seemed the dagger that stabbed you smeared with poison."

Qi Xunyi nodded. "How about … Xinghe?" He asked carefully, even so he could figure out the answer by himself.

"The Kingdom of Xinghe is no more. The Emperor of Azura issued a decree to sentence all the people from the palace to death. You are the last descendant." Ye Xiu said it plainly. No matter how good he arranged the word, but the truth was right before their eyes. It would be easier in this way.

"Qi Xunyi," Ye Xiu called out his name. There was a trace of anxious this time. "Concubine Qi, she is not in good condition."

Qi Xunyi ghastly pale face turned horrified. "What happened with my mother?"

When Feng Chang and eunuch Ma had left, Luna was gazing at the golden rays from the sunset when the door room creaked open. Luna could feel who he was as she asked without even turned her body.

"You are fast." She complemented him.

"Sister…" Gong Xu called out his older sister softly. "You don"t need to do this." He said with head down.

He was always a timid man with great ability if he could overcome his self confidence issue. The only thing was, his own father always disgraced him by not having the same ability like he and Luna has. This was one of the reasons why Modama despised him.

Luna didn"t reply to his statement as she turned around and face her brother. "Do you bring it?" Luna asked.

Reluctantly, Gong Xu pulled out the small red bottle from his pocket and handed it over to Luna, she received it with smile.

"Sister, it wasn"t right to play with your life…" Gong Xu mumbled. He was just a teenager, barely a man. But, his concern about Luna decision was sincere. He acted like a little brother he should be.

Luna gave him soft smiled and tousled his head. "Let"s promise to always lookout one another, no matter what."

Gong Xu didn"t buy his sister"s word as he looked at her with dark face. Luna knew what was inside his mind as she clapped his shoulder, however Gong Xu brushed away her hand. "Don"t using it against me."

Luna sighed. "Leave for now Gong Xu, we will meet again once a month, after all I need the medicine."

Gong Xu didn"t say anything for long while, he was only staring at his sister before he retracted his gazed and left the room without saying goodbye.

This parting indeed wasn"t a goodbye, at least not yet.

As Gong Xu left, the room turned to its original tranquil.

Luna turned around to look the unconscious man on the bed without expression, this all a mission, and she needed to a.s.sist her father to get the revenge for their kind.

Personally, Luna didn"t like it, she didn"t like the way how it turn. However, this was what her father had taught her, this was how she grew up. As the last heir of mind controller, it was a burden that she needed to shoulder.

Xiao Tianyao fast asleep didn"t even realize the danger that hovered near him.

Luna was approaching the bed slowly, took off her dress in her every steps, leaving a trail behind her. When she reached the bed, she was almost naked. She pulled off her hair pin and threw it away as her black satin hair tumbling on her shoulder and cascading on her figure like a night veil.

She knelt beside him and stroked Xiao Tianyao lips while the man brows furrowed, as though he felt an uneasy feeling. Luna didn"t stop, she bent her body and whispered into his ears. "Love me and don"t leave me…" She repeated her words. Gradually the taut between Xiao Tianyao eyes loosen as his breath turned sluggish.

Slowly, Luna long fingers trailed down Xiao Tianyao"s body and stop on his belt, with a gentle moved she unbelted it. It was impossible for her to undress him, thus she resolved to stop on his inner clothes.

As she was laid down and snuggled in his embrace, she put her face on Xiao Tianyao"s bare chest and closed her eyes.

The moment later, Xiao Tianyao"s eyes fluttered opened. He felt lightheaded, like someone who just overslept for long time. It was strange for him, as he had never had a good sleep ever since the tragedy that befell his parent. He got the worse case of insomnia and b.l.o.o.d.y scene from all the battle he was in unfolded before his eyes every time he tried to close it.

However, he didn"t feel that way for the first time in these morbid years.
