"Caps, are you sure that you still want to mess around with me?" Ash questions, his tone fierce while a vibrant shard glowing with vibrant colours blinds Caps.
The shard rotates in the air, a prism coloured barrier surrounds the trio in a circle, protecting them from Caps if he were to make any rash moves.
"No way! Even if you managed to find the flower which was hidden, there"s no way you can control the shard as your own unless it accepts you willingly!" Caps screamed as a green magical array forms before his palm, condensing a fire bolt that"s green in colour.
Caps being a scheming person since young, there has never been a time where things didn"t go as he had planned. To make things worse, this was the first mission his father entrusted him with and if failure ever happens, he knows that things are over for him considering the temperament of his father.
"Fire!"
With a single command, the bolt of poisonous flames lands on the ground before then, surrounding them in the middle. The flames were spiking up at times and whenever they attempt to leap out, it"ll rise up to trap them back in. A flame pillar when defensive, wisps of flying flames when being offensive as the circle gradually closes in, attempting to devour them.
"Don"t worry, this isn"t a problem at all as long as I"m around." Ash a.s.sured them, the shard which he revealed just now was taking on a deep shade of blue that reflects the ocean, three lily pads coral blue in colour forms beneath their feet.
"You managed to gain the trust of that shard? How is that possible?" Caps asks in anger, which made him forcibly speed up the process of the circle of flame shrinking even though it means lesser enjoyment time.
"Why must you guys make it so difficult for me? All I want is just to fulfill the last wishes of my long gone ancestor by securing the last part of the flower we occupied for ourselves, to h.e.l.l with all those weaklings that tried to challenge my ancestor only to fall in his hands by that time as he appointed the seven flowers guardians that time.
"What did you just say? If that"s the case, then your father is…" Lancelot asks, his gaze suddenly darting over to the side as he dashes there and swings in a beautiful arc, splitting a demon ape into half.
"Pretty cunning of you to have forcibly slaved the only demon ape in the area to backstab us when needed. But you exposed your plan upon revealing your ident.i.ty without the intention to, because your father is someone who I"ve been plotting to kill." Lancelot says, his killing intent rampaging around the area, attracting the cries of many demon beasts nearby, but most of them were crying in fear as they retreat from where the killing intent originated from.
"Why do you want to kill my father and how do you know about his ident.i.ty?" Caps asks back, slowing the shrinking speed of the circle of flame, even though he wants to have fun by torturing them slowly with style, he knows the obligations that he has to fulfill are much more important than his selfish thoughts.
"Your father also calls himself as the holy raven of the heavens, am I right about that?" Lancelot asks in amus.e.m.e.nt, but the anger contained within his voice was too intense to be concealed in the slightest.
Nightin understood why, but didn"t tell Ash despite the confusion on his face, it was a secret between the master and disciple and the reason why they even met each other and ended up with this level of relations.h.i.+p.
Revenge was the tie that brought them together in their first meeting and being the only person who knows about Lancelot"s reason for living initially, but only now does he know that the White ravens in the lower realm are actually just one of the abandoned branches.
"How do you know about my father"s nickname, even my father"s closest subordinates might be left clueless when they hear about the holy ravens for the first time."
"Do you know the white ravens then?"
"You mean those bunch of trash who were banished to the lower realm and forced to never return until they kill a hundred thousand cultivators that cultivate the lightning element?" Caps asks, the mockery in his voice getting louder with each pa.s.sing second.
"Hahahaha Hahahaha, let me guess, your family was ma.s.sacred by the white ravens banished to that trash realm! Am I right?"
The circle of flame suddenly vanished, in place of it was a ring of lightning that possessed the same offensive attributes.
"I"ll make it a memory you"ll never forget then! Your life has been sealed from the moment you tried to make my father your enemy, do you really think you can contend against an Overlord?" Caps questions Lancelot whose face was calm, but his heart was already crumbling from within as it reformed itself.
"Don"t worry, your father"s life is a must, but I"ll wait until the day where I can crush him into nothingness and slaughter each and every single one of his loved ones, I"ll destroy the empire and kingdoms he has built and break his ambitions once and for all. I"ll snap his wings off and pummel him into the water, where he"ll suffocate to death by himself with no one loyal enough to risk their life to save him."
"You think I haven"t done enough research before even planning to make the holy raven my opponent?" Lancelot rebuts, his gaze signalling for Ash to change the element of the shard.
"Lightning!"
With another command from Ash, the lily pads beneath their feets vanished and they were kept levitating by some mysterious force field.
"Disperse!"
The ring of lightning then dissipates as Ash mocks "Caps! Is that all you got for us as a DemiG.o.d? You wouldn"t want to fight us to the death either when I possess the shard unless your father is here, am I right about that? I"ll give you a chance right now, back down and we"re quits for now, if you want another battle in the future, then try getting us!"
"You asked for it." Caps said as he took out a scroll from his hand, only to crush it within his palm as he laughed "My father may not be able to make it here, but the energy clone that contains about 10% of his strength is more than enough to crush all of you present."
"Why did Caps crush my energy clone? Is his life in danger?"
d.a.m.n it! Even though I have the shard, the amount of strength I can bring forth with it is still quite limited and far from its fullest potential, but my current imagination energy is too weak to bring out more strength either. Ash didn"t voice his worries out, but stepped out and told them "Fall back, I"ll deal with this."
Despite the efforts Ash spent to conceal his fear, Nightin could still sense it as he replied "I won"t, because this battle isn"t over yet."
Taking out a snake ornament Orochi had stuffed into his robe before vanis.h.i.+ng that time, he crushes it into dust as a projection of Orochi appears.
Is that young lad in danger?
The two sides may not have the intention to, but the battle breaking out between them has already attracted the attention of two high ranking Overlords. Someone from the Evil realm and the Holy realm.
"No way! How can the projection you summoned be stronger than my father even though the energy concentration is only around 8%!" Caps shouted in fear as he attempted to escape, but the blast of flame was much quicker as it soon consumed him, burning him alive.
"You"ll regret it! My father will know through the projection of your images after I die!"
Laughing at Caps last breath and his pathetic screaming, Lancelot crush his final scheme as well "It"s a pity though, I"ve spent one whole year just to a.n.a.lyse what type of lightning works best, since you have told me the method to, then I"ll just electrocute and burn your right arm into crisp first."
Vzzt
"Argh!"
"You"ll regret… One day…" Those were Caps last words as his body fell onto the ground.
