"I am sorry, My Lady Matriarch. However, his att.i.tude required readjusting." Clovis apologized to Crystalsa, before offering a hand to Reever. "Now would you like to stand up and act like an adult and a n.o.ble or was that reminder not hard enough?" his voice was cold, but indifferent. It was very close to chiding a small child.Reever glared at him angrily, before rolling over and standing up on his own accord. Before he could react, and attack Clovis, Bryson caught his arm. "What I said for Kyera, goes for her mate as well." Bryson added giving his brother a meaningful look. Crystalsa watched her two younger sons with a slightly lost expression as the memories began to fade and she realized where she was again.
"Since when does my brother, the proud Prince of the Frost Lands protect a outsider before his own brother?" Demands Reever as he jerked his arm away from Bryson, or at least tried to. The older brother holds fast, not letting go of Reever"s much smaller arm by comparison.
"Since my younger brother forgot who is a insider and who is a outsider. Kyera and Clovis are family. Deal with it, or fight for the right to decide who is family or not. I would LOVE to remind you why I am the Heir." Bryson Growled softly into his brother"s face. Finally he pushed Reever back, using his arm and let go, as if he had touched something dirty.
"Reever, darling I think it might be best you and I go for some air?" A young woman asked by the door. She looked about forty years old and offered a very sweet smile. No one was quite sure when she had entered, but it was probably a very good thing she did. Reever turned to his young wife and smiled. Kyera felt her heart skip a beat as she saw her grand aunt. She was perhaps one of the most interesting of the family. Never crule, nor kind, yet she managed to be more than fair to the children, though never bareing one of her own. Long brown hair, like tree bark in the spring, warm and inviting was swirled into a fashionable bun behind her head. Two braids wrapped around the base to give it character. Her face was simple, but the elegance to her face had only increased with age. Overall she was simple, just a girl next door, and yet Kyera found she had a unique beauty in the way she held herself.
Reever seemed on the edge of disagreeing, turning to face his brother more accurately. "Reever, I want to go to the gardens." She persisted in a voice that was more demanding than her small form seemed capable of. He raised a lip slightly, but reluctantly turned away. He moved toward her and took her arm.
"As you wish, My Lady Rose." Reever agreed, and guided his wife gently from the room. The four royals left in the room could barely hear her as she chastised him as they left the hall. It was clear she was unhappy with him as well.
Kyera only spared a moment to look at her Grand Aunt Rose, before turning her attention back to her Grandest Mother. "Are you okay?" She asked gently, reaching out to guide a fallen hair out of the older woman"s face. Her shadow energy started working its way through her body, checking for anything to heal. In truth there was nothing, her body was just worn out from giving life to the flower.
"I will be fine, my child. We only have a hours before the festival. It will decide my fate as it always has. You know our long life spans darling. If it wasn"t for this flower I would hardly be out of my prime." The older woman replied, coughing gently into her hand. There was so much pain in Kyera"s eyes as she tried to comfort the older woman.
"I know. I just wish there was something I could do to ease your pain." Kyera whispered laying her head gently against her grandmother"s knee. A soothing hand caressed Kyera"s hair.
"Just having you come home for a visit was enough to give me some peace of mind my darling Great Grand Daughter." Crystalsa whispered as she ran her fingers through Kyera"s hair, pulling the silver strands back and away from her face the way grandmother"s do.
