Before Feya could argue, the other three princesses turned away and began inspecting the bears. Both seemed to be in much better condition now, as Kyera rinsed the blood from their fur. Melania and Lalia glanced at one another, both seeming concerned."Kyera, you are sweating and look a little pale." Lalia pointed out, well aware of where that healing magic was coming from. Kyera"s body looked weaker than it had at the start of this hunt.
"I know. Healing is not easy but these two would have died a slow death if I hadn"t." She replied slowly throwing one leg over the bear"s back and starting to slide down. Her eyes scanned the sky and the first thing she noticed were the clouds. The rolling sound of thunder resonated with her soul. "Oh thank G.o.d." Kyera smiled as she caught herself on the ground.
"Is everything okay?" Melania asked curiously and Kyera flashed her a blinding smile.
"Everything is great. Come on, I want to welcome them home." Kyera replied getting onto her sled, giggling in excitement. The other Princesses didn"t have a choice but to follow suite, climbing onto their own sleds. Kyera smiled brightly as urged the wolf into a run, the second following close behind with her kills. Melania and Lalia didn"t hesitate to follow, but Lalia stopped and let Feya ride with her.
Kyera didn"t notice, nor did she care. As they dashed through the forest her eyes were glued to the sky above, the bits of it she could see through the canopy of trees. The sound of wing beats was barely audible over the rolling sound of the thunder. The wolf ran through to the edge of the forest, a long stretch of white snow covered hills led to the palace. Kyera jumped off of the sled and looked up at the sky.
Two large shapes sped over head. She could see the deep gray body of Ember and the white cloud like scales of Ivory swirling around each other as the dragon"s twirled through the sky together like a sideways tornado. The clouds followed their wings and twisted across the sky before the pair fanned their wings and broke the clouds with a thunderous clap of the sky.
Kyera laughed and called out loudly to the sky "Storm Twins!" Kyera"s voice was carried into the sky by the Storm Winds. Both twins seemed to glide to a stop and begin circling, their focus clearly on the ground. Kyera came to a stop her laughter full as it filled the air, she spun in slow circles dancing with the wind as the twins came to the ground.
Lalia and Melania burst through the forest edge in time to see two great dragons landing on either side of Kyera. She ran to the dark dragon as the white moved closer. Wings surrounded her as she wrapped her arms around the black dragon"s nose. Lalia chuckled as she glided slower to a stop. "I am going to take a wild guess and say they are the Storm King and Queen." Lalia mused aloud and Melania looked over at her curiously.
"Who?" Melania asked honestly lost.
"You know them as the Storm Bringers." Lalia replied with a soft smile. There was a beauty in the calmness of the moment. The storm seemed to be held in time, paused over the pair and their human.
"Oh wow…" Melania whispered as they watched the storm twins separated, Kyera standing between them, one of her hands on each of their noses as she stood between them. The power pa.s.sing between the three was clear.
"Welcome home, my loves." Kyera whispered as she felt the love pa.s.sing between them and through her. Ivory b.u.mped her nose gently against Kyera"s chest. Kyera lovingly pet her nose kissing her brow lightly.
"Thank you, My Lady. Are you alright? We came as quickly as we could to back the Dark Ones up but the baby… Is the little one okay?" Ember asked as he leaned down and breathed warm air gently over Kyera"s body trying to give her some comfort. She looked up into the air as it flowed around her, thawing her body from the icy cold.
"The baby and I are fine… but I am afraid I will need your help again." Kyera replied sighing as she felt the warmth pour through her system. "First I need you to meet a few people." Kyera turned and smiled at the Princesses. "Lalia, Melania come here. I think you should meet our saviors." Kyera waved the girls over to her.
