"Your daughter successfully recreated Shadow Spread. It"s a medicine only made by the royal family and can heal major ailments like cough, and fever, but also can erase a bruise as though it never existed to begin with." Kyera explained motioning to her arm. Clovis gently inspected the once bruised shoulder."I see. I should thank Mordrin for sharing such a special secret with my daughter." Clovis replied seeing she was chatting happily with both Shadow Veil Royals. He hadn"t seen her this happy since she was told Kyera was to be her mother.
"Yes you should. We should also consider the medicine path for Raina. This recipe is hard to recreate and to do so at her age she must have a good internal balance. The type of balance that makes good healers." Kyera added, honestly having been thinking this for awhile now. Raina was a vhd of many talents most of which revolved around other people"s happiness and praise. She had a good chance at becoming a fantastic healer.
"I see. Perhaps, I mean she plays the Zither well, why would she need a duty other than the crown?" he asked honestly curious. No one wanted to make the future more difficult for their children than the ones bestowed at birth.
"The law of the forest reminds us to have more than one plan. If one thing falls through be ready to supplement or all together change to a new plan. For me I am a Warrior, but I am also a medic and a princess. That way if one lifestyle become no longer sustainable you have a way to make a new life." Kyera explained and Clovis began to think about it. The royal family had never worried about such things before. If their children learned skills it was to impress the Emperor or Empress, not as a contingency plan. It was a bit of a novel idea to him at the moment.
"I see, how would a lifestyle change that much? If a royal loses their position they are normally more concerned with making things right with their G.o.ds before their beheading." Clovis pointed out with a bit of a sigh. Kyera smiled softly.
"Do you really think I will let anyone touch my family? If you don"t become Emperor we will take care of ourselves here. There will always be a place for Raina but she has her pride as do you and I. She will feel more comfortable if she has a skill she can dedicate herself to. You saw her when she realized she was healing me. She"s fascinated." Kyera pointed out as she took a moment to glance over at the child who was explaining something to Mordecai and the Empress with quite a bit of animation. She was so impressive compared to her normally subdued state. It was refreshing to see her spirit come alive.
"I see, your setting Raina up to be a decent princess by Shadow Veil standards in case our move is permanent." Clovis concluded and Kyera frowned slightly, how was she going to explain this without being rude?
"Have you met Fara, of the Snow Drop Palace?" Kyera asked suddenly. "She is a seamstress and makes beautiful clothing for her Empress mother every year. Princess Lora of the Frost Gate is a dancer, and a master at her skills. Princess Kali, Mordrin"s mother was adept at poetry and literature and wrote many children"s stories. Clovis, it is only your kingdom that insists their princesses only learn what they must to he good wives with the addition of music. I want Raina to have more of a life than waiting to be a wife." Kyera explained, honestly there were other countries than what she mentioned with more impressive princesses. Such as Kora Kai who could lead an entire army herself if need be, or Sora her sister who was a skilled merchant and ran several booming businesses. She simply chose less experienced ones so he would see her point.
"Hmm that is true, I just never thought of it that way. Raina"s teachings really have been a bit… lacking." Clovis admitted looking at it from a new point of view. At first he wanted to argue but, then again she was right.
"So it is settled. If Raina wishes to pursue Medicine we will encourage her." Kyera decided with a bit of a smile. Clovis grinned, his wife never ceases to amaze him. The ball was still left in Raina"s court.
"What did I do to deserve a wife like you?" he asked chuckling at himself. Kyera grinned.
"You presented a challenge to a hunter. Didn"t anyone tell you a Tiger never walks past a challenge?" Kyera asked teasingly and then a mischievous grin crossed his lips.
"I will have to challenge you more often." he growled lightly into her ear the implications causing kyera to blush.
