The three women fell speechless, staring at him curiously. He stood tall, ready for what he knew was to come. Afterall, the way he had been treated before the Matriarch came was still fresh in his mind, but at least it would get the off Kyera"s case. What he didn"t expect was the look in their eyes...almost greedy."I see, so lady Kyera married herself a Prince willing to step in when he feels his lady is being made uncomfortable. I am sorry, Lady Kyera." Lilith tried to sooth his mood. However, despite trying to use her charms he slid his hands around Kyera"s waist.
"My good lady, it is Princess Kyera." Clovis corrected firmly. There was a sharpness to his voice that was honestly a bit of a shock.
"Oh, my apologies. I thought your father had stripped her of that t.i.tle and you were seeking refuge here." Rylee curtsied to show sincerity but there was a smirk curling her lips even as she spoke. Kyera tensed.
"Fortunately, if Kyera needed refuge, The Shadow Vale Emperor would be pleased to have us both. I had hoped to meet her family and understand a bit more of your lovely culture. However, it seems as though your insisting on being rude" he replies turning to guide his wife away from them. Kyera smiled softly kissing his cheek and laying her cheek on his shoulder.
"Thank you, honey." Kyera smiled at him, it felt good to have someone to lean on around this family. She had always been on her own here since the boys deaths. Afterall, a guard speaking up for her only made the teasing worse and earned the guard a lashing. At least this way Clovis could back them down.
"No one bullies my mate, not even her family." Clovis replied, his voice purring just a bit. Kyera felt her heart speed up at that sound. There was a new layer of comfort to that word that made her smile. Though, this had never been her plan, she felt at home at his side.
"Kyera Mei!" exclaimed a voice Kyera knew well. Looking up she saw a pretty red haired woman standing not far away. She was a more homely presence, plump with sweet pinky skin and laughing eyes. She was a absolute housewife goal. However, Kyera remembered the 10 year old child freckle faced outsider she use to run around with.
Letting go of Clovis she ran over and hugged her close. Clovis stared at his now empty arm at a loss then over at his heartless wife. "Clovis, this is my most awesome Aunt ever, Myla!" Kyera introduced and Clovis looked her over a bit surprised, but nodded respectfully. Princess Myla smiled, something warm and sunny like Kyera"s own grin. He found her much more pleasant than those ice witches moments before.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Prince Clovis. I am Myla, second heiress to the Matriarch Mother, and this is Ramsey my husband." Myla introduced herself and her husband. Afterall, the t.i.tles of his land didn"t quite fit into their own.
"I see, I am Prince Clovis of the Dancing wind. Fourth Prince to the Seasons Turning thrown." Clovis smiled and nodded at her warmly. Her husband smiled seeming interesting.
"Your kingdom is very interesting, though its culture is difficult to navigate." Ramsey offered taking an interest that Clovis hadn"t expected. Kyera smiled recognizing a test when she saw one.
"I couldn"t say I have noticed. I grew up with it, so it all seems simple. However, after marrying Kyera, I have realized there"s alot for me to learn about outside cultures." he replied honestly as the two men clasped hands and shook. Kyera and Myla grinned and took each other"s hands now that the formality was over.
"Kyera have you been riding lately?" Myla asked and Kyera"s eyes lit up. Not noticing this, Ramsey raised a brow.
