The Traitor of the Hero party
Chapter 2 The smiling man
"Ahh, that guy who is always laughing eerily.."
When asked about him, everyone would say that in unison.
People who do not really know him, they say he"s creepy.
That man is the burden of the hero party.
However, he is the strongest.
A political demon lord subjugation. Hak, who knew all that went on behind the scenes, hid his ident.i.ty and became the hero party"s burden.
Hak was hoping to finish his job quietly like that but…
The world would not let Hak do that.
Because those who have power, have responsibilities.
"Oi, what are you doing in the hero party, you small fry?! Just quit already, you are a burden!"
"If you can enter the hero"s party, then I can easily enter too! Definitely using his n.o.ble papa"s connections. Just die!"
Because those who have power….
Hak was being beaten by trained men in a back alley. Groaning "Uguu" every time he was being kicked.
It had already gotten dark and there was a really low chance of people coming into the dark alley.
As unfortunate as it is, the one being kicked right now by thugs was Hak Elstone, who was treated as a burden of the hero party.
And this was the reason Hak was called eerie.
"Hehe, sorry. I myself don"t even know why I am in the hero party, which is filled with amazing people."
He was laughing. Or to be precise, he was smiling.
Being kicked, blood was flowing out of his mouth but still–he was smiling.
"Why is this guy laughing?"
"Creepy."
Even after being treated like that, Hak was carelessly smiling.
"Aaahhh—!! Hak is being bullied again!"
A particular high-pitched voice echoed throughout the alleyway.
Including Hak, everyone there faced to look at the direction the voice came from.
There, a girl of small stature of about 13 or 14 was standing.
Even in that dark alley, her face appeared cute and the guys kicking Hak were charmed.
"Everytime I notice, Hak, you are being bullied, aren"t you?"
"Ahahah. I wonder why."
Still lying on the ground looking pathetic, Hak answered the girl with a smile.
"Well, it"s Hak so it can"t be helped, I guess!"
"Hmm, that might be true."
Ignoring the two thugs completely, the girl and Hak continued their conversation. However, the thugs couldn"t do a thing.
Because they knew the girl.
"For now, I would be happy if you could save me~"
"That stuff is called pimping or something! Alf was talking about it!"
"Ahaha."
He again laughed with a parched voice.
"I guess I have no choice. Lulu shall save you then~"
And then, finally, the guy opened his mouth.
"Lulu Pran."
Who is the one who defeated the most demons and monsters?
The Hero? No.
It"s Lulu Pran, a girl of only 14 years.
Her specialized weapon was called Grave and it resembled a long sword, with a long body. It was a characteristic kind of polearm.
It was made specially to go along with Lulu"s height but even still, it was about 1.5 times longer than her body and looked to be off balance compared to her small body.
However, Lulu was an expert at using Grave and exterminated enemies at an overwhelming speed when she was against multiple opponents.
"You people, it is not nice to bully, you know?"
She said with a smile. The thugs started to sweat. And as Lulu advanced one step forward, their face became pale.
""Gyyaaaaaa!""
They went running away as fast as their legs could carry them. From their behavior, one wouldn"t believe they were kicking and punching Hak just now.
Seeing the thugs run away, Hak stood up and started brushing the dirt off of his clothes.
"Ah, they ran away."
"Yep. Thanks, Lulu."
"Yep, yep. Not problem at all."
"I am pretty pathetic to be saved by a girl younger than me, huh?"
"Hak is like the mascot of the party so I guess it is okay?"
Thinking that Lulu was more like the mascot of the party, but admitting it was as Lulu said so, Hak stayed silent.
However, his smile was still there.
"More importantly! Alf is calling everyone!"
"He is?"
"Yep, yep."
She nodded.
He can"t not go since he was called.
Even though he was the burden of the hero party.
Hak started walking behind Lulu, who had already started walking ahead.
And as always, his expression was that of a smiling face, to the point of it being creepy.
