Roughly an hour later, the trio once against created a huge uproar amongst the underground societies of Mattrine district. They eliminated a corrupted businessmen, Sewali. After plundering a portion of Sewali"s wealth, they hurled cash everywhere and succeeded in upsurging an unbelievable chaos in the place; thus allowing them to escape.
Next up, was obviously to convince Abreu"s a.s.sistant.
The a.s.sistant was called Ache, and just as bad as Abreu, he was similarly fired from the corporation. The only difference was that Abreu was fired due to greed, while Ache was fired for his exuberant desire for knowledge.
If Ache was the son of a tyc.o.o.n, he would probably have a shot of becoming the next Edison. He loved complex engineering issues the most; dismantling machineries to learn the principles within before a.s.sembling them back. The more complex the devices, the more intoxicated he became.
Finally one day, he could no longer resist the temptation of a base station satellite. On one moonless and windy night, after getting his colleague drunk, his evil clutches finally stretched towards the naked sheep.
Ache believed he could easily dismantle the security sensors, where he would have another hour for research, before a.s.sembling the sensors within one hour again. If he managed those three hours well, he would likely succeed in examining the satellite apparatus and mask it as a malfunction afterwards.
Sadly, he overestimated himself this time...when fully armed soldiers charged into the base station, Ache had only a.s.sembled half the sensor and even installed wrongly a single electronic component.
Hence, Ache was fired. Fortunately, he hadn"t caused any tremendous losses or damage, and his direct supervisor merely confiscated all his a.s.sets and kicked him out.
At present, Ache was working as an automobile engineer at a car workshop. Twelve hours a day, his body would be covered in oil and grease.
Thus, without expending much efforts, Abreu managed to easily seduce Ache into follow hime with stacks of cash.
"Where"s our next destination?" Piloting a army jeep, Sheyan turned to inquire of Abreu.
Abreu looked down and carefully examined a digital map he was balancing on his knee, his hand s.h.i.+elding his eyes from the incoming rush of wind.
"Hmmm, base stations within a fifty kilometres radius around Mattrine district…...oh, 1, 2, 3,4, 5…...a total of seven. Hey Ache, which one are you most familiar with?"
Ache was a puny skinny chap, and was curled up within a large coat. He murmured.
"West, the one on the west in the coordinate C36, K12. That area has suffered dinosaur raids for five times already. Besides, that base station is one of the least important one, it"ll probably be demolished soon…..hey Abreu, I just realized acceding to you is a huge mistake! With me, we only have five guys, just five guys! There"s still a total of 31 miles to reach that place where birds wouldn"t defecate either. We can only pray to the lord if we hope to arrive there by car safely."
Just when Ache concluded his statement, an outburst erupted unexpectedly from a nearby heap of rubble. Closely after, several shadows dashed out in a uniform line. Those shadows appeared like wolves, but had long tails at their rears and lizard skin. When they scurried forward, they looked like triangular serpent headed kangaroos!
The das.h.i.+ng speed of these shadows were immensely swift. Even a cross country jeep travelling at 60 miles per hour was caught up by them.
When Ache witnessed this scene, he cried out bitterly.
"s.h.i.+t s.h.i.+t s.h.i.+t! Those are Mussaurus, ahhh they"ve locked onto us! After the dinosaurs had invaded the mainland, these Mussaurus are one of the newest breeds. It"s said they are ten times deadlier than a similar pack of wolves!"
Yet at this moment, Sheyan jammed break the car. After a screeching drift, he and Reef leapt out, while Mogensha stood up from the co-pilot seat. He was still lazily puffing on a cigar while positioning his AK.
To the contestants, dealing with a pack of Mussaurus comparable to normal wildlife, wouldn"t take them much effort. After all, this was merely nearing the periphery of the dinosaur disaster zone. Those beasts that were viewed as savage hunters, were practically like dried twigs to the contestants, as they started ma.s.sacring the pack of Mussaurus.
Not long later, the remaining Mussaurus released sharp roars and fled, In the face of danger, they could sense threat and retreat accordingly.
At this point, Reef glanced at Ache again and earnestly rea.s.sured.
"
"Buddy, the lord looks over every one of us."
Encountering such an aspect, apart from wryly smiling, what else could Ache say?
Still, after witnessing the formidability of the trio, he couldn"t help but develop great confidence in this operation. Besides, in his opinion, it needed 30 fully armed soldiers to deal with such a pack of Mussaurus. This meant that the battle capabilities of this trio, each surmounted that of 10 fully armed soldiers!
Thus, campaigning against 7-8 guarding soldiers at the base station no longer seemed so arduous. After all, both Abreu and Ache were fully aware of how the security of those satellite base stations was like. Furthermore, most of the defensive mechanisms were targeted towards combating dinosaurs and not humans.
Thinking of that, Ache couldn"t help but yell.
"Wait, wait! Bring along the caraca.s.ses of those Mussaurus!"
Rain pelted down on a sandy desolated wasteland. The majority of vegetation here was maize. Modern time scientists have introduced a new name for it, known as Poaceae"s Spurs.
These were a genetic variation of maize. After absorbing much excretion from genetically modified dinosaurs. They propagated with matchless pace to cover the vast stretches of wastelands, and overwhelmed the ecology of plants here with their frightening growth rate. Thus, they also became the most crucial and unparalled food source for herbivorous dinosaurs.
The trio and company pushed their way through a cl.u.s.ter of craggy rocks, trying their best to knock loose rocks and exposing their tracks. In areas difficult to traverse, they bent their waists and gently climbed through.
By the side of a red rock, Sheyan scanned his surroundings before gesturing for Ache and Abreu. The duo strenuously shoved through random vegetation and arrived at that rock. After lifting the rock and digger for half a metre down, a seemingly futuristic optical cable was seen.
Ache swallowed his saliva and exclaimed.
"Just by pulling some tricks here, and we can cause much headaches at the satellite base station. For example, unstable voltage or bad signal frequency, but nothing too huge to arouse their concern. They will rush here for a quick check, because most of the time, the culprits are those Mussaurus. With their frequent appearances, it wouldn"t arouse any particular alertness in the base."
Abreu shrugged his shoulders.
"As such, by pulling some tricks here, five soldiers and two engineers will probably make their way here within 15 minutes. Whether we can quickly dispatch them and successfully infiltrate the base, depends on your ability. Remember, don"t let them have the chance to release a distress signal, and we need their access pa.s.s too."
Sheyan knitted his brows.
"How do they release a distress signal?"
Abreu replied.
"The squad leader wears a black watch on his wrist. It has three b.u.t.tons that represent different situations. One b.u.t.ton represents the highest level of danger, where fighter jets would be sent here in 20 minutes, and serve us a taste of their newest Poisonstinger Guided Missiles."
"Got it." Sheyan nodded.
He glanced at Mogensha and casted a throat cutting gesture. Mogensha"s eyes revealed a doubtful glint but his hand s.h.i.+fted towards the "Silver Sparta Long Spear" by his waist.
Sheyan nodded. Mogensha was a little startled but nodded at once.
The following event of severing a power switch was needless to elaborate.
Not long later, the shuffling sounds of footsteps and vexed voices resounded from afar.
"Those pesky Mussaurus. If I capture them alive, I will carve out their brains and stuff them up their a.r.s.es!"
"I just hope those nasty creatures haven"t caused too much damage. Let"s finish this within half an hour, my game"s waiting for me."
Evidently, the ones speaking were the engineers. By their sides, four trained and disciplined soldiers spreaded to guard them.
All of a sudden, a soldier raised his hand, prompting the rest to halt. That soldier maintained a vigilant aim with his gun which was loaded and ready. They noticed a shadow ahead and slowly proceeded to encircle it.
"Strange, why did a Mussaurus die here? A soldier asked curiously.
"Oh, heavens, guys look here. The way this Mussaurus died.....was it crushed by a road roller?"
The squad of soldiers curiously inched forward.
But at this moment, a vigorous and swift human figure somersaulted out and pulled out a weapon in mid air. Within a flash, electric currents surged as he hurled the weapon forth, before a chain lightning bolted out! With a gloomy whistle, the lightning enshrouded everything within a ten metre square radius!
The chain lightning bounced around, causing those humans to howl in anguish. Electric currents filled their bodies as they convulsed repeatedly on the ground. Still, the current stubbornly lingered and wriggled through their body"s surfaces.
In mere seconds, the tiny squad convulsed and breathed their last. All of them were peacefully sprawled on the ground. Their hairs stood erect as electric current continued to mercilessly bounce around their bodies. Even their electronic devices suffered faint crackles, before some exploded into flames.
This scene appeared additionally tragic amidst the stillness of the night.
