Before their lips could connect, he moved away. "I"ll cuddle with you if that"s what you want but this.. we both know you"ll regret it." He said, getting up from the bed. Kim was both shocked and embarra.s.sed when he rejected her. But he didn"t wait for her to explain as he quickly left the house. He had no idea how to get her to talk, to tell him why she was acting this way. But he didn"t want to stay in that house with her anymore before he"s forced to do what they"ll both regret. He drove for a while with no destination in mind. Finally arriving at the park they went picnicing. He alighted the car and began strolling. As he watched the families, he recounted those happy times with her, now she was just plain moody. Too indifferent, he didn"t like it, recounting everything that happened, from the fight with Judith, to the kiss, to their argument, he couldn"t pick out why things turned out this way. Lost in his thoughts, he b.u.mped into a girl riding a bicycle. "Aii!" She exclaimed as she fell on the ground. "I"m sorry, I wasn"t watching." He quickly apologized to her as he helped her up. Dusting her hands, she said, "Yeah.. I wasn"t watching either, sorry." When she made eye contact with him, she was stunned, her heart skipped a beat.
With mouth agape, she stared at him. As he was about leaving, she held him back, "I"m Isabella, you?" He wasn"t really interested in knowing her, just out of courtesy he replied, "Carl." Before gently tugging his arm away from her. As she watched him leave, she shouted, "It"s nice meeting you, hope we meet again.. Carl." She ended in a whisper. She watched Carl leave with sadness because she knew she wouldn"t meet him again and if she ever did, she couldn"t possibly have anything to do with him because her marriage would be decided by her her. "Belle, let"s go, we"ll be heading to the airport now." She heard Chamberlain say. She sighed, picking up her bicycle. She had managed to convince her brother to bring her to the park for a picnic because if she returned to the capital, she would not be allowed to. She would have to go from one social gathering to another, organized by the elites.
Sometimes she wished she was ordinary, she wouldn"t have to worry about these things, then again, she wouldn"t live in luxury. Returning a sad smile to her brother, she rode the bicycle to where their car was parked. "Holidays are for partying, for socializing, networking, making contact with your next breakthrough." she thought, trying to console herself.
While Carl walked through the park, Kim took out the gift Carl had gotten her. When she saw it, she started crying, she couldn"t tell what was wrong with her and why she was like that. She began to question herself, but she had no answers. She just felt burdened, tired and h.o.r.n.y. And the fact that she wanted to use Carl to satisfy her s.e.xual need made her re-think her earlier a.s.sumption. Did she really like him? Or is it because he"s available. If it was someone else, would she do the same? If someone better came along, would she leave him? Can she really say she likes him? As she thought of these, she became more detached. May be she needed a little break, to go soul searching. She need to stay away from him. As she thought of these, she took out her phone to search for places she could go to. After picking a scenic place, she took a bath, packed up a little, leaving the house without a simple note to inform him of where she was headed to.
She took a ferry from the jetty leaving the city. Her destination was Phoenix, it was a city in State C. It was home to many dormant volcanoes, there was also a beach, you could watch the sea. And at night, the galaxy of stars made it even more magical. It was a popular tourist spot with so many hot spots. She was looking forward to the trip.
Star country unlike most countries is not landlocked, it"s surrounded by water. It"s a huge island located in the Pacific ocean, between Asia and Australia. Their way of doing things, their customs and tradition is a little different from but also similar to both Asia and Australia. Rivers and streams also connect the ten states, including the capital, they empty into the Pacific. As such, fishing is one of the major industry in the country.
As she sat in the ferry, she could see the beauty of the wild. Taking out the polariod camera, she thought of him, she had not told him where she was going, he would definitely be worried. Rather than call, she sent a message. "I"ve not been fair to you these few days, I"m really sorry. I"m leaving, I don"t know when I"ll be back but it"s certainly before resumption, you don"t need to worry about me." After typing, she clicked send before turning off her phone.
When he received the message, he tried calling her but her phone was turned off, he rushed back home only to be greeted by an empty apartment. He drove quickly to Madam George"s Restaurant to inquire if they know her whereabouts but they were unaware. He didn"t know what to do and how to find her as her phone was turned off. Taking out his phone, he read the message over and over again until he calmed down. He drove back home exhausted, he laid on the bed regretting. He shouldn"t have left her alone.
