It was a little over twelve. The sun was glaring at people moving to and fro. This was specifically why Kim decided to wear something small. She was not really fond of exposing her body, it was only just to entice Carl, if only he knew that. The weather was becoming unbearable. It was tougher for people who had businesses that require being under the harsh weather especially traders at the local market.
Candidates for seat in every sphere of government had also began campaigning. They could be seen moving from market to market, from one public place to another. The smarter ones dressed casually, they even had a cooler of cold refreshing drinks and hand fan to go but the others dressed formally could not be considered smart. This drew up critique, if they could not tell what to wear for the occasion, are they truly capable of leading them?
As she walked down the streets, she saw many posters and manifestos pasted by the road side. The billboards had running advertis.e.m.e.nt for the seat of the head of government. She wasn"t really paying attention so she almost missed a detail. "Charles Stan.. the man you can trust." Seeing the ad, she paused in her steps, examining the man, he looked familiar. Sudden realization struck her, he looked like Isabella.
He was definitely over forty, but he looked young and refreshing. The ad only had those words along side a picture of him smiling warmly. He was dressed formally, his aura was that of a kind uncle.
Though he appeared warm and nice, Kim felt he was one of those "uncles" who had ulterior motives. He would definitely lure you into his trap with a little candy. Thinking that, she shuddered.
The other candidates did not stand out as much as he did. He had this aura that made people feel they could get close to him, he was like every other normal person. His countenance outshined the others, they could only serve as backdrops, especially when they were placed side by side.
She felt he would definitely win the election if it goes on. She shook her head then she quietly flagged down a taxi.
Arriving at her destination, she paid her fares before heading into the café.
It was a branch of a very popular chain of cafés. And it was also close to the university. Though she had never been to the café, she had heard stories about how good the coffee and cakes are. The fact that they even let customers study while drinking a cup of coffee for hours made it a frequent joint for the undergraduate students.
She placed an order for a cup of coffee before taking a seat by the window overlooking the door. It was so she could tell when Isabella and Sean arrived.
Not long after she began sipping her coffee, Sean walked in. His eyes quickly ran across the room, searching for Kim. She waved at him with a warm smile plastered on her face.
"Isabel isn"t here yet?" He questioned. "Where are my manners," he asked no one in particular before adding, "Sorry I"m late."
Shaking her head, Kim replied, "Not a problem, I"m just early."
As Sean made to order, Kim observed his every action, she had not really taken a close up look at him.
Even though, they"ve known each other for a few months, his face was not imprinted in her mind. She was someone who never considered anyone being a constant in her life so she stopped looking at faces. Because of this, she easily forgot faces, sometimes names. They weren"t going to be in her life for long, so why bother? Most times, there was little or no eye contact with whomever she spoke with, how could she remember people she hardly spoke with, look at or recall their names?
Sean was coltish. He was taller than her by a head, he looked "long" standing by himself, especially because he was leggy. He had a crew cut that was cleanly shaved into a fade, it suited him. His oval eyes were comforting and his lips were pressed into a thin line. His aura though dignified, was approachable.
"Did he always have a crew cut?" She wondered. She had never taken notice of his amazing features.
As she admired him, she failed to take notice of Isabella who had already arrived and was standing before her. She followed Kim"s gaze, and she spotted Sean. Isabella smiled, thinking Kim liked Sean.
She cleared her throat, Kim quickly reverted her gaze, "You"re here."
Isabella nodded, then she smiled meaningfully, before adding, "How would you notice me when you only have Sean in your eyes."
"What?"
"Stop pretending, I saw you checking him out. It"s fine though, you match each other." Isabella beamed.
Kim did not know what to say, deny it or keep quiet? She was indeed looking at him but that did not mean she liked him romantically. Even if she denied, Bella may not necessarily believe, thinking that she made no further comment.
