The rest of the days pa.s.sed breezily. Carl was learning to perfect the chicken pasta. It was funny to see him fail over and over again. At first he threw it away, later he forced himself to eat it because he didn"t want to keep wasting the food. And as time pa.s.sed, he improved. He learned to taste the food whilst cooking.

Even though it was just one food he knew how to prepare, he was proud of his achievement. It wasn"t easy to cook, he made up his mind to never waste any food prepared by Kim. It took effort to make a dish, he wouldn"t want to throw away her effort.

Finally, it was the first day of September. He had previously called for a meeting with all the members. With the information provided by Allan, he was able to group the members. They could work to the best of their ability under the new grouping. As there were 100 persons after the spies we"re removed. He divided them into ten groups. Each group had ten persons.

He would send them to each state to gather information and also scout the area, for good businesses and gangs they could take over.

This was an easy way to spread into each state and build his influence. The gang were privileged to know his face and not the rest of the employees. As they were gathered, they were tensed because the last time they gathered, a few spies were rooted out. It was unnerving to stand in a silent hall. There was only one seat in front of them, they didn"t know what to think.

As the clock ticked, some began sweating. What could the problem be. They didn"t talk as usual as each person was thinking of the possibility of more spies within their group.

After standing for twenty minutes in silence, three men walked in, Carl, Allan and Allen. They were familiar with the H-brothers even though they were told never to call them that again. The change they saw in the brothers surprised them. Originally Allan had long hair, he would tie it up in a pony tail or a bun or even let it down, always styling his hair. He would wear sneakers, ripped jeans, tank top and a leather jacket. But know he looked professional. He actually cut his hair, that was the most shocking aspect. Who doesn"t know how much he loves his hair?

Then Allen, most of the time, he was shirtless, bearing his tattoos, if he even wore something it was just a tank top. But now, he was actually covered. Looking professional. They could only observie the trio to see what they have in store for them.

Carl sat down on the only chair in the hall, his right hand propping his chin with his legs crossed in a comfortable pose. Allan was by his right, Allen his left. They were surprised seeing this. Who was the young man sitting down while their bosses stood by his side. Soon their questions were answered.

"This is the boss, his name is Carl. We work under him and so will you." Allan said with his usual stoic expression. Once he he concluded, the members started murmuring. Asking each other if they knew about the new development and so on.

Carl was displeased by their chatter. Allen sensing his displeasure, shouted, "Quiet."

The room immediately stilled. Like it was before they entered. Carl was looking at each of their faces. He signaled Allan to begin. Allan opened the doc.u.ment he was holding and called out ten names. "Liam, Ethan, Lucas, Conor, Isaac, Alfie, Darragh, Logan, Riley and Alex.. come forward." They obeyed. Soon he called out the rest to stand behind the original ten men.

"From today, this is your team, the one in front of you is your leader. Liam, you"ll take your team and head to the capital." As Allan spoke, Allen went to Liam, handing him a brown envelope.

"Your job is to first gather information about the workings of the red district, you"ll have to report at the end of every week except in cases of emergency. If you see a local gang that can help us expand, you"re permitted to take over that gang. You"re to also scout for profitable businesses and inform HQ too. The rest is in the the doc.u.ments."

After which, he a.s.signed the remaining teams to the different States excluding State A with the same instruction.

Carl was still sitted but his eyes that were closed, opened when Allan concluded. He looked up at them, scanning their faces. He knew the gang would be the best for the mission. They were used to the crude life of the lower province so they can easily blend in.

"Nothing much has changed, you"ll still report to Allan and Allen." He said nonchalantly. Seeing there was no objection, he was rather pleased. May be Allen really scared them.

"Any questions?" He asked solemnly.

They all had questions but they didn"t have the courage to voice it out. Carl was their new boss, they knew nothing of his temperament and power so they couldn"t afford to annoy him.

"Good. I expect total loyalty." He said in a montonous voice. Not long, his voice changed, like they were laced with poison. The air turned stiff. "If you dare betray me..." That was all he said, he didn"t issue any threat, just a simple incomplete sentence. It shouldn"t hold any wait but for some reason it made the members shiver.

His voice returned to the monotonous tone he had used earlier, it was like the threat never happened. "Your destination is already in the doc.u.ments, you"re to leave immediately after collecting whatever you need from Allan." With that Carl got up, leaving them behind.

He didn"t talk much, apart from deceitful people, what he hated most was people who talked too much. He found it annoying, Ryan and Kim were the only exceptions. Just f*cking go straight to the point.
