After he scolded her in the morning making her cry, he promised never to raise his voice at her again. She also promised not drink or go to a club without him. Remembering her friends, she picked up her phone, she saw there was over fifty missed calls from Sean alone. She immediately called him back."Kim are you okay? Where are you? I"m sorry I left you by yourself yesterday. I hope nothing happened to you." Before Kim could say "h.e.l.lo," Sean had began speaking. "Slowly down, I"m fine." She replied.
"Then where did you go to? I couldn"t find you yesterday." He asked again.
"You don"t have to be so worried, I don"t really remember but my brother took me home." She replied truthfully.
"Oh.. that"s a relief then." Sean who was tensed finally relaxed.
"What about Bella?" She asked him. "Her brother also came for her, he was so mad at me." Sean replied courteously.
"Mine too." She giggled. "Let"s talk later, he"s still mad at me." She added.
"Okay, bye!" After which she hung up. She immediately went into the kitchen, chicken soup was definitely not enough to satiate the hunger she was now feeling. Opening the fridge, it was empty. "So he has been eating out..." she closed the fridge before going to get a book to write down a grocery list.
Carl offered to go with her, together they walked out of the house. Kim was not aware he had gotten a car, so she continued walking to the road when he pulled her back. She wasn"t expecting him to pull her back so she fell into his embrace. She quickly straightened, not wanting things to be awkward again. She laughed it off.
He ignored her laugh as he held her hand pulling her to the car. Seeing the car, I eyes bulged in excitement, "When did you get it?" She asked, her eyes sparkling. He remembered her eyes in the cinema, "I guess she likes it." His thoughts stopped as he saw her frown. "And you didn"t think to tell me when I asked what"s new?" She questioned.
Rubbing his neck, he felt guilty, "I"m sorry, I won"t keep anything from you again."
Carl knew how to say thank you and also how to apologize, this is one of the things that made her like him. She nodded in reply and got into the car. In less than twenty minutes, they arrived at the mall. Together the moved from one stall to the order, one aisle to the other getting what they needed. A few older woman admired them, everyone a.s.sumed they were a couple. And as usual, they did not deny or accept, they smiled in response. After that they went to the food court where they ate breakfast before returning home.
"What other thing is new in your life?" Kim asked the question that had been bugging her. He shook his head, "Nothing. What about you?" She shook her head in response too.
"Let me cook for you. Go take shower or something." Kim said. Rather than go to the bathroom, he followed her to the kitchen, "I"ll help out." Together they placed all the ingredients and condiments in the cupboards then the frozen stuff in the fridge. After that, they began preparing food he could preserve in the fridge to eat later.
It was relatively peaceful as they moved in unison. After cooking, Carl showered before joining Kim in the living room to watch TV. Siby she moved to the dormitories, she had stopped watching her dramas, today, she would binge watch whatever she had missed.
Carl took out some snacks for her and a blanket. Not long after, they f noorgot about the "awkward" air as they cuddled on the couch. Carl was never one to watch dramas, soon he fell asleep, leaving only Kim.
In the upper province, Chamberlain was home, he had just scolded his sister for dancing dirty with a stranger. What if their father found out or worse the press? He questioned her on whose idea it was to go to a club. When he heard it was Sean, he felt like beating the boy to a pulp. What if his sister was raped tonight and what about Kim. He called in the man he asked to watch over them, the man told him Kim had gone into the restroom before he came and he did not know where she went after then. Chamberlain could only urge the man to conclude his findings and report to him.
Other than to worry about his younger sister and her friends, he had things to think about. Things concerning the election and how to move from there. He still wasn"t clear on his father"s motive. He could only wait for further instructions. He reasoned he would soon be engaged to someone he"s yet to meet as his father would be seeking alliances. As much as he didn"t care for love, he didn"t want to end up with some spoilt heiress but he didn"t have a say in that.
