"Ancestor…?""Yes!"
*SNAP*
As Lucille said that, she snapped her fingers, prompting the servants to go out of the room with the Knights following behind them, making sure that no leak of what happened there would happen from them.
*THUD*
The giant door that served as the entrance to the throne room closed behind the receding traces of the servants. And with the sudden thud from the door, Cole woke up from his stupor.
"Ancestor…? That doesn"t make sense… The only way that would actually be possible would be if…"
Cole revealed a shock expression on his face but quickly recovered his usual composure.
"Calm down, Cole Steward. She could just be talking about the original Cole--"
"No. I don"t mean Cole Steward, the Mechanica... I"m talking about..."
Lucille revealed an all-knowing smile on her face and that just made Cole feel a sense of dread he had never felt before.
"The Hero and cause of the first〈Inergalactic War〉 renowned weapon master across the entire s.p.a.ce and reaches of the〈Avant Zone〉Cole Steward."
"!!"
Cole"s eyes widened and the shock couldn"t be evermore obvious and present on his face. His mind raced to find an answer why the woman before him would know and tell him such a thing when he had only lived in this world for at most a few weeks or some days.
"I"ll tell you all you want to know, but let"s have a bite first. You must be hungry, no?"
"... Yeah..."
Cole could only follow her for now.
.
.
.
.
.
"Aah...! As always, the royal xhefs dishes are divine!"
"..."
"And to think that even the simple orange juice I drink is made drom only the finest ones found in the entire 〈Demon Realm〉!!!"
"..."
Once again, inside a pointlously huge dining hall with a ridicuslouly long dining table which would just make someone feel lonely and friendless in life if they were to only use it by themselves, was Lucille and Cole eating a fine a.s.sortment of〈Demon Realm〉delicacies sich as Minotaur (The unintelligent kind) hamburger steak or Pheonix scrambled eggs.
And fortunately, everyone in the room had common sense and Cole was sitted to the left of Lucille for if they were sitted across from each, they wouldn"t ne able to hold a propee conversation.
As well as demons with varying skin colors and species characteristics dressed up in maid and butler uniforms lining sides of the hall.
All of them had dead fish eyes and a deadpan look on their gace which made them feel and look like experienced workers despite their seemingly appearance of 20 amd up.
"...? Cole, you"re already finished?"
"Yes. Because I would like to know what excatly you want to tell me."
Seeing Cole" eagerness, Lucille finished the last bit of her Minotaur steak and wiped her mouth with the nearby table napkin. All her actions and moves were done with a majestic grace and dignity.
Well, not that Cole cared though.
"Well, all I can tell you is that basically each zone is the past or future time of one of the other zones. The demon researchers worked off their a.s.s these entire 20 years just finding that out."
Lucille dropped the info as if they were simply talking about the weather, the other people in the room were also calm and composed as ever.
It was as if that was common knowledge among them.
"I see... I guess you probably don"t know how it came to be though, right? Consodering that it took 2 decades to find out just that. "
Cole didn"t seem bothered by it that much as well, as if he had already expected such an answer.
"You"re right. But that"s not the question you actually want to know the answer to is, is it?"
Lucille showed a glint in her eye as she threw the question. Cole helplessly sighed and nodded to her.
"*sigh*... You"re right. What I really want to know is how you knew I transmigrated and how you knew it was me."
"It"s simple, it"s because I formed a contract with your mother while you were still a wee little baby."
"Mom?!"
*CLINK CLANK*
When Cole heard his mother being mentioned, he stood up from his chair and slammed his hands down onto the table causing the plates to shake.
His sudden action caused Lucille to widen her eyes ever so slightly, making it unnoticeable to the people around her.
"I-I"m sorry... Please continue."
Noticing his sudden outburst was rude, Cole calmed down and sat once again on his seat.
"There are still so many things I don"t know about this boy..."
"So, what was it you and my mother formed a contract about?"
"I cannot say, all she asked was to... make you do something."
Hearing the vague answer, Cole slumped his shoulders a bit and the sight of him sulking with a sad expression on his face made him look sorrowful to the female servants in the room invoking their pity and care, reminding everyone that he actually really looked good.
Cole quickly got over it just as he did many times before in his life and left his chair and walked throughout the exit of the dining hall, and once again, lost in his thoughts.
"Looks like I"ll just fetch Eva first."
