〔Black Leather Pocket Belt - Excellent Condition〕〔Has sockets for medicine vials located at the front and two pouches at the back and sides which can be switched with gun holsters.〕
Cole walked over to the belt. Just like the tag said, it was in excellent condition.
Although Cole already had an entire inventory inside his Coat, he still needed a place to put things that he can take out instantly in a crisis.
He changed his belt and decided to look for a gun next.
He didn"t have to look far.
There was a rectangular box that had the words M18A3-SR engraved on the bottom right corner of it.
Cole recognized it as the model number for one of his trusted sniper rifles. Just to make sure, he checked the tag attached to it.
Although he felt it weird for everything to have something telling them what exactly they were, Cole quickly got used to it despite only interacting it for a short time.
Unfortunately, this gave more rise to questions for his AI friend that he had been recently reunited with.
〔M18A3-SR Gungnir (Boxed Form) - Excellent Condition (Empty)〕
〔It was named such by the developers due to their boast of its preciseness even among other models. The A3 variant is said to have the ability to change into a high-damage laser cannon at the cost of transformation and charging time. The SR at the end stands for Sniper Rifle.〕
"Yeah, it"s the same."
Cole picked up the box and slotted it into one of the pouches of his new belt. He then chose a few vials of medicine that came from the〈Huaxia Zone〉and slotted a few into his coat and in his belt.
He also didn"t forget to take more ampoules that served as his gun"s fuel.
For a sidearm, he planned to take something from the〈Times Zone〉and he also wanted to get a melee weapon for when the situation called for it.
Cole chucked in a few throwing draggers and put them in the leg pouches he had also found. There was one strapped on each thigh.
Cole preferred to have everything he needed on his body than have it be a luggage bag he would have to take care of.
It was one of the other reasons why he wanted to bring Felicia along for the Mission. Although he probably wouldn"t always bring her, he had a premonition that it was best to be cautious for this particular mission.
He took a few grenades just in case and put them in his coat. They were ball-shaped and fit right into the palm of your hand. White in color and the b.u.t.ton to activate them was placed right on top. Cole took one in hand and stared at it.
Memories of tossing them into the enemy base resurfaced in Cole"s mind.
The screams of the enemy soldiers. The stench of blood filling the air. The helpless enemy soldiers that weren"t expecting a night raid.
"..."
As Cole was lost in thought, Mini seemed to have finished his restocking and found Cole crouching on the ground while staring at grenade at his hand.
"...What is he doing?"
Mini hesitated for a bit before walking closer to Cole. If he accidentally pressed the b.u.t.ton. Which in consideration of his t.i.tle of Weapon Master and is something he would probably never do, Mini decided to strike up a conversation.
"Hey, Cole, I have a question."
"Hmm, what is it?"
Cole shook his thoughts away and faced Mini.
"You and Felicia really have a habit of using "hmm"."
"Is that so? I didn"t notice that."
"Anyway, how does your coat stay on your shoulders?"
Mini pointed to the black coat that was sprawled over the floor with a few items poking out of the pockets here and there. Cole had planned to properly sort them when he got his a.r.s.enal in order.
"I sewed magnets in them."
Cole pointed to the place where the coat would hang around his neck and the inside of the upper lapel. There was also some sewn at shoulder blade parts.
"I also placed some into my shirt and vest."
"Heh..."
Mini let out a sigh of amazement. There were many different ways to apply your ability. Some abilities in the〈Times Zone〉only had a singular use but the ones that could be applied to different things were always the most interesting ones and tested the Esper"s, or what the residents called themselves creativity and knowledge about their ability.
"Wait? Couldn"t he just attract it to his blood?"
"If you"re wondering why I don"t just attract it to the iron in my blood, that"s because the iron in our blood would have a diamagnetic reaction instead. Meaning that my blood would be repelled instead."
"As for my coat, I don"t have to worry about the magnets getting blast off since it"s been coated with Graphene."
"Eh? Really?"
Mini showed evident shock on his face. He had heard about the material Graphene. It had incredible strength and was even more flexible than rubber and if you laid a sheet of paper on it, you could actually see it. And that was amazing considering they were just a layer of atoms.
"Yeah, My former military uniform was made with the same material."
"But doesn"t Graphene conduct electricity really easy?"
"The nanoplates are spread out so that it"s at a safe level while being bulletproof, so it"s fine."
"Really?"
Mini expressed doubt at such a claim. Even with the reason that Cole gave him, he still felt skeptical.
"The possibilities of the future are endless after all."
In the year 2017, a similar thing had already been created. 300 years later, of course, there would be numerous leaps in the development of such a thing, right?
Cole couldn"t but help and let out a smile at the skeptical yet curious lad. He had already had a good feeling about him when he displayed a wide range of knowledge about weapons.
Although at first glance it wasn"t obvious. When Mini had shown Cole his Spirit Magic the first time, Cole was impressed.
He had already guessed the second catch for Mini"s magic though. He would probably need to know the details of how the barrel was formed. The loading system. And etc., so he would be able to properly replicate them.
Mini was surprised at Cole"s smile. He was emotionless for the most of the time he spent working at〈S.T.E.L.LA〉
"I guess he isn"t a robot or ice cube after all..."
Mini had often joked together with his sister about how Cole was such. They even had a bet on whether or not he could smile. The bet was meaningless though. Because they both guessed the same thing.
"I guess we both win."
"I wonder what the others are doing right now..."
