"Envy!" Crystal stated without even a hint of doubt in her voice. This despite not knowing what an imp actually looked like, or how they functioned.

"Good, I don"t wanna be stuck as a paperweight the rest of my life after all..." though Crystal, referring of course, to her current, fragile, orb-shaped body.
Then, as Crystal was considering her second starter trait, with her omnidirectional vision she noticed something slightly strange come into view.
There, a few dozen metres down the beach, having emerged from behind a medium sized, smooth-looking white rock, sat a dark red hermit crab, roughly twice the size of Crystal"s core. However, instead of a pair of claws like the hermit crabs Crystal knew of, it only had one, possessing a small tube the same colour as its sh.e.l.l in the place of its right claw.
Upon spotting Crystal"s core, it then stopped and stared at it for a moment. After which it, using its left claw, picked up a small black pebble from the sand, and placed it into its tube-like extremity.
"A rock holder? What a useless mutation for a crab!" Crystal declared the moment she saw it, somewhat feeling pitying for the crab in question.
Crystal then quickly turned her attention back to the menu. She only had 36 seconds left after all.
"Now then... greed or pride, greed or pride, which should I-?" She thought quickly, but her thoughts were immediately interrupted.
[You have taken 22 damage! Durability remaining: 78/100]
"Ouch!?" She shrieked, as a pain similar to stubbing all her toes at once suddenly surged though her body, it was accompanied by the appearance of the small black stone which the crab had previously been holding. It dropped to the ground with a thud after having, apparently, collided with her core.
Crystal, seeing the pebble, quickly looked back to the crab in disbelief. It now stood with its tube-like extremity aimed directly towards Crystal"s core, a small amount of smoke floating around its end.
The crab then reached for another pebble...
[Default acceptable damage threshold surpa.s.sed!
Switching to survival mode!]
"It was a gun!?" Crystal thought in disbelief as her consciousness dimmed...
Though, in what seemed like an instant later, her mind immediately returned to the exact same condition it had been in previously. The same was not true for her surrounings however.
It had only felt like an instant after all.
[Threat eliminated!
Survival mode disabled!]
Crystal was somewhat startled by the sudden change, one moment she had been sitting at eye level to the crab, dozens of metres away from it, and the next, she was standing over it, smashing it with the smooth white rock it had previously been standing next to.
"Ugh, what the h.e.l.l was that... and how can I never do it again?" She mumbled groggily as she dropped the rock off to her side, and rubbed her head in confusion. Such were the first audible words she had truly spoken in her new life.

Crystal looked over each sentence one by one, then, upon reading the last section, she walked closer to the now partially crushed crab... and began stomping on it with her bare feet.
"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d, you"ve ruined everything!" She yelled as she pulverized its remains into a fine paste.
Of all the starter traits that Crystal had been considering, l.u.s.t was dead last by a huge margin.

Crystal, after another minute or so of stomping, chose to convert what remained of the crab, the gross looking mess vanishing completely upon doing so.
She also stored the smooth black pebble which the crab had fired at her as well, for no other reason than she thought it looked rather cool.
"Haa..." she let out an exhausted sigh as she stretched her body, somewhat satisfied having released all her pent up stress on the crab interloper.
It was then that she realized just how much her situation had actually improved to the one she had previously been in a moment prior, a rock on the verge of death, and at the mercy of a crab. In comparison to Now, she had just acquired a body and smooshed said crab into a paste.
How could that be anything but a huge step forwards?
Choosing to try and think on the bright side for the moment, she, instead of continuing her tantrum, quickly made her way to the ocean to see her reflection. Her omnidirectional vision was ironically no longer working now that she had actually acquired eyes to see with.
Upon looking into ocean water, what she saw reflected took her a bit by surprise.
She was a humanoid with skin almost as dark red as that of a "red delicious" type apple, pointed, elf-like ears existed on either side of her head, and a long tail with an arrowhead-like tip, about thirty percent longer than than the length of her legs, protruded from the base of her spine.
The tail, despite its length, did not drag on the ground as it was curled upwards near the tip. Her hair was waist-length, a red so dark that it bordered on becoming black, and her irises were hot pink.
None of these features, however, were what had taken Crystal by surprise, she hadn"t expected an imp to look this human-like in the first place after all.
"I"m nineteen... so why do I look like a little kid now!?" She yelled as she drew closer to her reflection, making sure that what she was seeing was indeed real.
The appearance of magic-based creatures such as imps were determined by rank rather than age, the equivalent age appearance of a lesser imp like Crystal, when compared to humans, was roughly the age of eight or nine.
"Ugh, whatever, at least I"m not an infant... I suppose should find some clothes or something pretty quick," she then mumbled upon realizing that she was currently naked.
"Oh right, I"m a dungeon... Um, open DP menu, erm... clothing section?" She said hesitantly. And somewhat to her surprise, it actually summoned the menu in question.
