Crystal stood alongside her twelve skeletal-minions, looking at her two unconscious prisoners through the bars of her ship"s brig.

One was a beautiful female elf with green eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair. She wore a black collar made of metal, and a tattered, knee-length, white dress.

Crystal thought she looked like a cliche elven slave with an overly-tragic backstory. The imp was correct in her a.s.sumption.

The other person was a small obese man with cliche villain-like facial hair. He wore an overly luxurious purple suit which just screamed "I am an arrogant n.o.ble."

Crystal felt he somehow looked both greasy and sticky at the same time. Once again, she was correct in her a.s.sumption.

Not one to a.s.sume things based only on looks, however, she would wait until they both awoke before cementing her opinion on the matter.

The sleeping elf then suddenly began coughing and gasping uncontrollably as she lay there. She still remained unconscious, however.

The imp took a couple of steps back.

"Is she... gonna be alright"? Crystal asked Alexa worriedly, "she"s, uh, not sick or anything, right?"

The dungeon a.s.sistant stifled a laugh, slightly, in response.

"No silly, she"s just being strangled by her slave collar," Alexa said in a worry-free tone, "she must have disobeyed her master before falling unconscious."

Crystal breathed a sigh of relief.

"I"m sure she"ll be dead shortly," Alexa then added in a rea.s.suring tone.

"Give me back my sense of relief!" Retorted the dungeon core.

Crystal didn"t really like the idea of suffering, in general, and felt it only came as a result of a previous failure.

If the wolves who killed her hadn"t been starving. If the wolves" usual prey wasn"t so scarce. If poachers hadn"t been so prevalent near where she lived, poaching much of the wolves" prey. If she didn"t live in a cabin in the middle of a forest. If the cabin hadn"t been inherited by Crystal and her sister. All failures bred from other failures.

"Well, what can we do to make her, you know, not die!?" She inquired frantically.

If no way was available to save her, Crystal would feel obligated to kill the elf herself, rather than watching her be strangled to death for the rest of her life, however long that may be.

Alexa thought a moment before replying.

"There are only two advisable ways to save her at the moment," she began, "dominating the elf into a dungeon minion, allowing you to resummon her after her death."

"Or," she continued, "have the purple one order her release. I can feel a master-slave connection between him and many other people nearby, including her, all of whom will die if he does,"

Crystal frowned slightly upon hearing that. Her options were suddenly limited to either enslaving the elf herself, or torturing the human should he refuse to release his slaves.

Her opinion on the two was quickly cemented, as well.

"...Wake him up," she ordered one of her skeletons.

In response, said skeleton immediately walked to the brig door, gently pulling it open before stepping inside and closing it in an equally gentle manner.

Crystal found it strange that he didn"t need a key to do so. But before she could comment on the matter, something strange happened.

The man, who had been pretending to sleep until that point, suddenly leaped to his feet and attempted to dash past the approaching skeleton and out through the seemingly unlocked door.

He impacted loudly with it, and it didn"t budge an inch. He, however, collapsed spectacularly onto the floor.

"Guess it doesn"t need a key," she commented while stunned.

"I temporarily gave that skeleton the position of guard," replied Alexa, "a key will appear on his body if he"s killed, allowing whoever has it to open the door which he guards."

"At least one such guard must always exist, or the cell"s durability will plummet," she added.

"Interesting," thought Crystal, before turning her attention back to the man.

"Could you release your slaves for me, please," she said to the man in purple, "n.o.body likes a slaver, y"know."

The man then, once again, leaped to his feet with surprising swiftness, this time with a broken nose. He was very angry.

"You dare speak to me, you filthy abomination!" He spat towards Crystal as he held his nose with one hand, "you dare continue to exist in the same world such as myself!?"

He glared at Crystal as if she was the vilest thing he had ever seen. The gaze was so unpleasant and full of emotion that it immediately sent a chill down Crystal"s spine.

"I am Sir Patrick Halfsbane," he gloated, giving a smug smile, but received no reaction from the imp.

Seeing that, he grew even angrier, "It was my ancestors that made sure to wipe every last one of your filthy kind from Null."

"In fact, it was- Mmph!?" He tried to continue, however, a skeletal arm suddenly reached over Crystal"s shoulder and shoved something into the man"s mouth as he was speaking. Daisy had arrived.

Her hand then gripped his face tightly as he violently struggled to break her grip, to spit that something out.

"Mistress," Daisy said softly, "I have sent Tina to collect her crew. They should be arriving at the ship shortly."

"I would appreciate it if you would quickly find a place to hide your core," she continued, "I"ll say here and negotiate the release of the slaves, alright?"

Daisy had somehow, not only finished her business with Tina, but traversed the thirteen spatially-nonlinear-floors, as well, all in less than half an hour.

It was a distance of nearly 5 kilometres, or 3 miles, something which Crystal considered impossible.

"How did you-?" began Crystal. But she was quickly interrupted by Alexa.

"She had me install teleportation circles on every floor," the a.s.sistant said proudly, as if it were her own idea, "the option for them came free with the spatial control trait."

The man in purple"s face was now changing colour, but crystal didn"t notice, as she was currently facing away from him, towards Daisy.

"Really, cool," Crystal said enthusiastically. It immediately solved the issue of her having to walk all the way back by herself.

She then quickly left the brig to see what a teleportation circle actually looked like, planning to immediately return once she had done so.

Daisy watched her go.

"Keep her distracted while I deal with this, alright, Alexa?" She whispered.

"Yup," the a.s.sistant replied immediately, "I hope Mr n.o.ble enjoys the plums, I hear they"re unforgettable."

"He"d better," thought Daisy, "they are his last meal after all..."

After checking out the teleportation circle, which looked like a three-meter wide, yellow glowing pentagram, Crystal had intended to return to the brig to finish dealing with the n.o.ble. Alexa, however, a.s.sured her that her presence was no longer required, and that she would only complicate things.

She then, instead, provided Crystal with a list of issues that needed resolving before Tina"s return.

Thus, Crystal traveled around the ship, doing various tasks that required her attention. She was accompanied by Alexa, of course, as well as the small monkey, which she had found playing with Skully in the map room.

She added lockable covers to the orlop deck"s portholes, so no one could sneak in in the same manner that she herself had, and skip almost every floor. They were white and made of oak.

The dungeon core then repaired the damage inflicted on the ship prior to the ship becoming indestructible.

She moved the staircase which led below deck to the inside of the living quarters, rather than having it be outside, she didn"t really see the need for this one, but a.s.sumed there must be a reason for it, such as preventing water from getting in.

She tidied the map room and the captain"s quarters as well, the former of which contained a strange map. It looked a bit like a dragon.

"Map of Null," said a blue box as she touched it.

"Ah, so that"s what Null is," she thought, remembering the n.o.ble"s words, "I wonder what the story behind that name is."

Crystal stored the map in her inventory.
