Chapter 48: ReviewTranslator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Hamon immediately remembered the words he said to Su Ye just now. His legs turned limp in shock. “Sir Kaerton, I was merely kidding just now. How would I bear to give him 200 Gold Eagles?”
“Tell me the truth!” Kaerton shouted.
Hamon could only say, “Then don"t be angry.”
“I won"t be angry.”
Hamon answered honestly, “At the start, I only wanted to teach him a lesson. But I later realized that he was more mature than the people his age and thus wanted to develop a stronger relationship with him. I did that partly to help Hutton, but I also wanted to be acquainted with a mage from the Plato Academy. Two hundred Gold Eagles is not a lot, but unfortunately, my son was too foolish. He definitely would not agree to interact with Su Ye on equal footing, so I had to treat Su Ye a little unfairly. You saw what happened in the end. An exceptional mage like Su Ye would never lower his head in front of a cra.s.s man like me.”
“In other words, you owe Su Ye 200 Gold Eagles?” Kaerton asked.
Hamon was dumbfounded. What kind of math was that?
But Hamon let out an elated look the next moment. He said, “No, no, no. I do not owe Su Ye 200 Gold Eagles, but sir, you would have to match my investment of 200 Gold Eagles. I will send the money over to him tomorrow.”
Kaerton said mockingly, “Do you think I lack the money?”
Hamon froze. “I"ve misunderstood you.”
Kaerton stroked his snake-shaped ring gently with his right hand. He said sometime later, “I cannot let Su Ye feel that I am beneath you. Let"s do it this way, I"ll invest another 100 Gold Eagles. Send it together with your 200 Gold Eagles tomorrow.”

Hamon froze. He cursed in his heart. Kaerton was cruel indeed. It was no wonder that he was influential and had such a status as a Silver Warrior, while Hamon could only be bullied by the n.o.bles.
“Don"t worry, I"ll send 300 Gold Eagles to Su Ye"s house tomorrow.”
Senat, who was standing by the side, felt a little pity for his old friend. He had lost a house in the workshop district over dinner.
“What about you?” Hark suddenly looked at Senat.
Senat froze for a moment. He frowned as he said, “I am only a Bronze Warrior. I have a huge expenditure because of my training, but I do not have Mister Kaerton"s wits or Mister Hark"s strength. There"s no way that I can invest in a future n.o.ble mage like Su Ye.”
“Send over your dagger.” For some reason, Hark felt great after he said that.

“d.a.m.n…”
“Hm?” Hark let out a soft grunt to interrupt Senat.
“Don"t worry, I"ll definitely place the magic dagger in Mister Su Ye"s hands tomorrow!” Senat said furiously.

Kaerton was a little depressed. Was Su Ye that charismatic? Why did both his able a.s.sistants favor him this much?
Should I get my a.s.sistants to stay further away from Su Ye?
Su Ye returned home after getting out the carriage.
Su Ye suddenly felt a little uncomfortable after he took a few steps.
He realized after some time that he was all alone in this house.
In the past, he at least had servants and followers in the house.
“I have no time to do the housework. I should hire a servant if I have the time,” Su Ye thought as he washed up. He then found a bottle of wine in the house and made a simple offering to Zeus, Athena, and Vulcan in the living room.
Then, Su Ye left the living room and returned to his bedroom to meditate.
Su Ye felt revitalized after he absorbed a sufficient amount of Divine Realm Light. He listed the things he needed to do for the night. He first wrote in his diary to record the events that happened today.
Su Ye deleted this item from his to-do list after he was finished with the diary, and then he added a new item. He asked himself Lakein"s question as he looked at the incomplete checklist. He scrutinized his next course of action from a macroscopic perspective.
Finally, Su Ye realized that there was something more important than preparing for cla.s.s, studying, and completing his homework.
That was to review his battle against the three cheetahs. That also meant to recount the process of the battle using a correct method so that he could summarize the event, formulate rules, and search for the true lesson behind the battle.
Su Ye first split the entire process into three large sections in a mind map. They were: “my method of fighting,””the cheetahs" method of fighting,” and “other things to note,” respectively.
He further divided the “my method of fighting” section into a secondary content page. This page included: his psychological state, battle methods, learning methods, incantation usage, the formation of magic, etc.
He then further split “the cheetahs" method of fighting” into “their methods of attacking together,””direct attacks,””attacks from behind,””dodging techniques,” and so on and so forth.
“Other things to note” included the other points that he had to pay attention to, which included the pointers Teacher Niedern gave him.
Su Ye once again further divided the second category and made the third category even more specific. By the time he reached the fourth category, he was recording the event down to individual actions.
Through specific a.n.a.lysis, Su Ye revisited the battle.
Then, Su Ye explained and researched every specific action and movement using different frameworks. He came up with ways to improve his shortcomings and placed them into his plan of deliberate practice. He then came up with a new way of judging the cheetahs" attacks and dodges and also put them into the section for deliberate practice.
Su Ye followed the framework that he was used to and finally called it a day after he finished six steps: Record, categorize, a.n.a.lyze, reflect, course of action, and practice.
Then, Su Ye recorded the time. He would review this plan four times, tomorrow, in a week, in a month, and in half a year to combat the forgetting curve and move the information into his long-term memory.
Su Ye had an even more sophisticated review method, but he chose completion over perfection after he considered the factors of time and efficiency.
Su Ye looked through what he wrote another time and started to think.
He thought for a long time before he added another sentence on the page and bolded it.
“When fighting against a speedy, beast-like enemy, what method of thinking should I use to guide the way I fight?”
Su Ye did not mind if he forgot everything he a.n.a.lyzed just now. He cared most about the last sentence.
Su Ye looked at this question. He could not come up with an answer no matter how long he thought. He realized that this question might be out of the scope of his knowledge and decided to leave it for the time being. He was going to do a word a.n.a.lysis on this question with the method he grasped in half a month. He would ask Teacher Niedern if he still could not come up with an answer in a month.
Then, Su Ye started with his homework.
During that time, Jimmy sent him another magic message to ask about how the animals should be deciphered. Su Ye"s reply was still “guess.”
Su Ye meditated every time he felt tired, then continued to study after he recharged his energy.
Su Ye only closed his book at midnight and prepared to sleep.
Su Ye did not know if Magic Meditation could replace sleep in the future, but he felt that he should at least be able to manage on six hours of sleep for now. This had to do with the brain"s operations at night, which was to deal with memories. This was also the core function behind learning.
Su Ye opened his spellbook to display Plato"s projection and placed it by the door before he slept.
Then, Su Ye continuously recited in his heart, “Wake up at six, wake up at six, wake up at six, I cannot be late again. I am going to buy a magic alarm clock…”
Deep in the night, a shadow suddenly flashed through the yard and suddenly disappeared a few seconds later. Everything returned to normal.
At dawn, Su Ye slowly opened his eyes. He looked out the door. The sky seemed a little darker now than it did the past few days when he woke up.
