Chapter 755: The Pills are Finished
Within the path of cultivation, being at the peak of Divine Transformation Realm was already considered being at the very top of the cultivation world.
However, that didn’t mean that everyone was capable of reaching the peak of the Divine Transformation Realm. It seemed to have involved luck in some way; many cultivators who had gotten to the ninth tier of the Divine Transformation Realm would’ve still faced countless problems getting to the peak.
Even a goliath of a cultivation force like the Immemorial Path couldn’t get around such a problem.
That was because they were not yet at a high enough level to look at the problems from a higher perspective.
Lu Xuan was different. His level put him in a position that enabled him to easily see everything clearly and easily. It was simply a problem with the foundations of their training.
The methods that they trained with had problems that they were entirely oblivious to. The way Lu Xuan saw it, being able to get to the peak of Divine Transformation Realm in such a state was only possible because they were lucky.
The only other way was that, like Xiang Tianfang, they had used a very extreme method to do so.
All in all, it was still due to their foundations being lacking.
That was what Lu Xuan actively tried to avoid throughout his journey in cultivation.
A lackl.u.s.ter foundation was definitely not good for furthering one’s cultivation in the future.
Such flaws in their foundations were almost irreversible for those from the middle cla.s.s, but it was a piece of cake for Lu Xuan.
That was hardly deemed anything difficult because he hardly stuck to any one method when he trained in his past life; he reversed-engineered each method one level at a time. He often figured out how training methods at high levels worked when he was still at a low level.
Doing so came with a lot of undesirable aftereffects, which severely damaged his foundations.
It was thanks to his born Taoism apt.i.tude that he managed to survive through all of that.
However, it was also precisely due to such experiences that he managed to easily locate the gist of the problems.
Xuanyangzi cupped his hands and said, “Very well, I shall leave the rest to you, then. Here is the recipe. Please source what is written on it for me. Other than the herbs written above, I’ve also added subst.i.tutes as well. The effects are almost just as good as the original ingredients. Just get me whatever you can from this recipe.”
Lu Xuan drafted a recipe and handed it to Xuanyangzi.
Xuanyangzi clapped his chest and confidently said, “Don’t worry, I can get the herbs. I dare say that if even we are unable to find the herbs, you wouldn’t find anyone else in the entire continent capable of finding them.”
Lu Xuan nodded, knowing that Xuanyangzi wasn’t bluffing. Given that the Immemorial Path’s powers were capable of reigning supreme throughout almost half of the Holy Sun Continent, hardly anyone else could find all of the necessary herbs even if they couldn’t find anything else on the list.
After Xuanyangzi made up his mind, that goliath of a cultivation force got to work right away. Once the recipe was distributed, the fighters searched the entire continent to gather the necessary herbs.
One by one, all of the usually rare herbs were being delivered to the sect.
Given the sect’s influence, there would still be people who would deliver the herbs to the sect even if there wasn’t anything in it for them; it would only be to get on the sect’s good side.
Many of the herbs in the recipe itself were found inside the sect already as well.
The dispensary of the sect, which had acc.u.mulated all manner of herbs throughout the years, was now of great use.
All the required herbs were gathered within just three days.
Many people out there even grew curious as to why the sect was going all out to gather herbs like that. Everyone wondered if they were out to craft some kind of incredibly frightening medicine.
Given the sheer size and wealth of the Immemorial Path, there was hardly any need for them to search outside en ma.s.se, after all. It didn’t matter what kind of medicine that they were planning to craft.
One could’ve even said that all the necessary herbs would have been found in the sect’s own dispensary by now.
The place was more than enough to handle crafting any common medicine.
However, the sect remained secretive about all of that.
Not even those of higher ranks knew what those herbs on the recipe were for, let alone those at middle to low ranks.
That was especially so given that the recipe was divided into different parts. Only a handful of people knew what the full recipe looked like.
To those of higher ranks of the sect, those few days were definitely the toughest ones of their lives.
A spy was discovered among them, after all.
It seemed reasonable to find spies in their midst, as the sect itself would employ spies as well. Meanwhile, several other forces outside actually harbored spies from the Immemorial Path.
However, n.o.body would have thought that there would’ve been a spy among the higher-ranking members who would go so far as to become one of the elders.
That was bad news like no other to the higher-ups of the Immemorial Path. While not everyone had become suspicious of one another yet, there had been internal investigations undergoing secretly now that Xuanyangzi took charge of the sect.
Many of them actually harbored secrets that could never see the light of day. While they probably wouldn’t have gone so far as to betray the sect, there was still far too much that those people couldn’t afford to let others know.
That elder who was caught red-handed became the target of curses, deeming him the menace to all.
Many of these higher-ranking members were in no mood to care about the recipe. It was obvious that n.o.body bothered to tell those outside much about what happened.
Investigations had gone underway, looking into every member regardless of their standing. Meanwhile, a storm was now brewing.
As such, n.o.body knew that Lu Xuan had now entered the alchemy room to begin crafting medicines.
Lu Xuan stayed inside for 10 whole days, while Xuanyangzi waited anxiously at the door outside.
Xuanyangzi pulled at his beard so often that he had almost ended up pulling the beard off of his face. If the outsiders saw Xuanyangzi being so anxious, they would have probably been frightened to death.
The way that outsiders saw Xuanyangzi, he had always been calm and collected as the sectmaster of the Immemorial Path.
Very few things could faze him. It was even more so given that he was one of the eldest of the elders, which meant that he would’ve seen it all.
It was impossible to think of a reason for him to look that anxious. Even when he went out to take out Xiang Tianfang, the leader of the Divine Blood Church, he had looked very calm and collected.
However, what was currently happening in the alchemy room had rendered him very fl.u.s.tered.
Xuanyangzi paced back and forth. He was the only one who knew why he had been so anxious. The success of getting those pills crafted was more than just about whether Lu Xuan could make it to higher levels.
Lu Xuan’s success with alchemy was also tied to the very future of the sect.
Lu Xuan had promised that the trade was to enable the Immemorial Path to reach further heights. He was willing to hand over the crafting recipe to Xuanyangzi.
The Immemorial Path could use that recipe to produce an endless supply of fighters at the peak of the Divine Transformation Realm unceasingly from then on out. Even if those people were to not reach his level, they would still be considered true fighters at the peak of the Divine Transformation Realm.
Only by having countless cultivators at the peak of Divine Transformation Realm could there be geniuses like no other emerging, thus making breakthroughs to higher levels.
The entire limit within the Holy Sun Continent had almost capped at the Divine Transformation Realm. The very reason for that was because there were simply too few cultivators capable of making further breakthroughs.
Only by having cultivators at such ma.s.sive levels could stronger fighters emerge.
Xuanyangzi was so anxious because what was happening in that alchemy room was tied to the future of the Immemorial Path. Any common happenings wouldn’t have fazed him at all.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open to reveal a young man wearing a white robe walking outside. A stunning whiff of medicinal fragrance leaked out shortly afterward.
