Chapter 383: Shredding the Dragon King
“Do you think I have a choice?” That dragon king continued with a rather exasperated smile. “I was once just a little lizard. Under normal circ.u.mstances, I would have probably lived and died without knowing any better. It’s the great ancestor who bestowed me with such an opportunity, making me a king of a region and a monster king who could travel the world. My life is no longer mine. It belongs to the entire race of demons.”
Lu Xuan felt his heart warm up with emotion hearing what the dragon king just said. If Lu Xuan remembered correctly, that dragon king was probably the one that went about killing countless innocent people in North America, nearly bringing about the collapse of the US back in his past life.
It was every man for himself.
More importantly, the US government was powerless against a dragon of such a high level back then. It was thanks to the efforts of the ancestor of the vampires, Cain, that the dragon king was finally repelled.
That dragon king was tasked with doing its best to wreak havoc on the entire human race, and the US was one of the most powerful countries in the world. Killing more people in the US would be enough to greatly impact human society.
The vampires, however, relied on human development to spread their influence. The collapse of the US and the order that their government built might have been convenient for the vampires to go about killing anyone or anything they could find. However, that was not what Cain wanted to see happen.
Infiltrating the American society and controlling the country from within would, to a certain extent, equate the interests of the US to those of the vampire race as a whole.
As such, a great battle was fought between the demons and vampires. The battle shocked the entire world, and Lu Xuan watched the battle happen through satellite broadcast back then.
The dragon king currently before him paled in comparison to the one of ferocious presence and power that Lu Xuan knew back in his past life.
The battle between both parties had almost destroyed an entire city and resulted in countless casualties.
However, Lu Xuan remained unfazed by the dragon king’s words. After all, the hero of one race could be the menace of another.
Lu Xuan grinned and said, “Do your worst. I’d love to see how long you could hold me back.”
With a grim expression, the dragon king said, “Even just a brief moment would be better than nothing. The human race is the one that had been ruling the planet for hundreds of thousands of years after all. The history and resources of humans are unmatched; the emergence of an unparalleled genius like yourself further proves my point.”
“For the sake of the demons, I have no other choice.”
Lu Xuan continued to grin as he looked at the dragon king and said, “Where could you people run to anyway?”
His expression remained unfettered as he looked at the dragon king. A tinge of murderous intent was somewhat visible in his eyes. He then extended his hand right away, allowing it to transform into a dragon claw huge enough to block off an area within a radius of several kilometers.
That dragon king remained unhesitant when facing that attack. Instead, he instantly went into his original form: a terrifying western dragon that was over five meters tall, the height of a two-storied building.
He burst with towering demonic power all over his being. Every single scale on his body shimmered with a crimson sheen.
Roar!
The dragon king roared and breathed fire immediately afterward, which seemed like it was out to burn the sky down. The fire engulfed Lu Xuan’s entire dragon claw as he brought it down upon him.
However, the move proved useless. Despite the move being among the core techniques that the dragon king had at his disposal, he still stood no chance whatsoever when facing off against Lu Xuan. Simply put, his efforts were utterly futile.
Lu Xuan’s dragon claw was brought down immediately, extinguishing the boundless flames as soon as they became visible. The dragon claw continued to move, coming in hard before clapping down on the dragon king.
Boom!
Everyone heard a rumble erupt. To their surprise, they saw that the dragon king somehow managed to block Lu Xuan’s golden dragon claw. The dragon king held off that golden dragon claw to the best of his ability.
“He stopped that claw?” The expression on the faces of the human cultivators changed when they saw what happened.
Lu Xuan’s invincibility was etched so deeply in their minds that they were all frightened to the core at the sight of someone managing to block off Lu Xuan’s attack at that moment.
Roar!
Before the human cultivators had the chance to process what they had just witnessed, the dragon king then burst with pulses of fiery red energy all over him. The signature of energy was near-identical to that of the woman in the fiery red dress before. That dragon king was practicing fire-based powers as well.
While such fire-based powers usually worked best as offensive moves, the dragon king instead conjured a shield that shrouded him within, siphoning all fiery demonic power that the dragon king could muster.
That dragon king’s current expression looked rather pained. Despite being a dragon, everyone was still able to see that the dragon was in genuine pain.
“That is some defensive power, indeed. No wonder he managed to escape the nuclear bombs that the American government used against him.”
Many were able to witness the battle that the crimson dragon king fought. The eagle king was simply moving too fast for the European governments to even think of deploying nuclear weapons against him after all.
That giant bear up north, on the other hand, ended up being bombed to death by the Russian government using nuclear weapons instead.
In comparison, that crimson dragon king had been surrounded by the US military and nuclear weapons that were used against him, yet he was still able to escape.
The only other being who showed such a record was Lu Xuan.
If the dragon king did not have more tricks up his sleeve than most people antic.i.p.ated, the US military would’ve killed him a long time ago.
Despite suffering serious injuries during its escape, it nonetheless caused a huge commotion to the world back then.
However, the crowd did not manage to feel that way for long, as they all saw how that dragon king’s protective barrier proceeded to crumble inch by inch. It seemed that the dragon blood would spit a bit of blood from his mouth as the crumbling worsened.
Boom!
That fiery red shield was brutally crushed right away as the dragon king spitted out large amounts of blood from his mouth.
Lu Xuan’s golden dragon claw continued to fall towards the dragon king without slowing down until the attack connected on the dragon king’s body.
Everyone saw the scales all over that dragon king’s body beginning to crumble. The disintegration continued quickly down to the hide beneath, then to the muscles and eventually the bones. The attack engulfed everything until the dragon king was reduced to a ma.s.sive b.l.o.o.d.y mist.
Lu Xuan killed the dragon king with a single hit, reducing the latter’s body into countless fine, tiny pieces.
The entire place was filled by the remains of that dragon king for a while.
Another huge hand was seen extending outward, grabbing all of the remains that had yet to disperse far enough. The hand belonged to none other than Lu Shanshan, who went out to grab all the bits of flesh and blood.
She then chuckled and said, “Well, guess we got more ingredients for dinner tonight. I’ve heard people say that nothing tastes better than dragon meat from the heavens. I wonder what grilled dragon meat would taste like.”
Lu Xuan was exasperated towards his sister’s antics, wondering since when was Lu Shanshan such a glutton.
Lu Xuan shook his head and activated his golden Delusion-breaker Eyes. He amplified his vision by 10 times over, catching the sight of the two demons running away without any trouble.
