Chapter 96: Something happened to the Ling Clan

It was apparent that the Southern Shaolin Temple did not have the guts to keep delaying payment to a National Guardian.
Even if there were to be a National Guardian emerging from the Southern Shaolin Temple, he would have been just as incapable of going against Lu Xuan toe-to-toe anyway.
When Monk Buyi returned that night and told everyone in the temple what he had just experienced, everyone was shocked about Lu Xuan’s frightening combat prowess.
Even the abbot, Master Bushuo, was thoroughly shaken by Lu Xuan’s combat prowess, which enabled Lu Xuan to kill Aida Ryosuke with just several moves. It was the level of power that he did not possess at the moment, and would not have been near being able to achieve even after becoming a National Guardian.
As such, a consensus was quickly reached among those of the temple—raise that 100 million yuan for Lu Xuan as soon as possible.
Lu Xuan bought a house in the area right away after the cauldron was delivered. That was where the cauldron was placed.
While real estate in that area was anything but cheap, the prices were nothing to Lu Xuan, who had just earned an astronomical amount of money.
That place was made into Lu Xuan’s personal alkahestry workshop.
Lu Xuan was already thinking if he should be buying a manor, as it would have proved more convenient.
A month pa.s.sed before long.
Lu Xuan was enjoying the breeze, his hands at his back, on top of a house in the area.
“It’s been a month since the Falling Star in Mount Tai Incident happened. That means it’s another month closer to when the government will announce the existence of cultivators to the people.”
Lu Xuan was thinking about how long the government would take to make the existence of cultivators public.
He knew that if that were to happen, the golden age of cultivators brought about by the restoration of Spiritual Qi would be around the corner, and it would be an event that no one would be able to reverse.
It took an entire month for the commotion caused by that incident back then to gradually wane.
Yet, the comments saying that the government was hiding something from the people never stopped on the internet.
However, the evidence was difficult to find, and even if someone found something, the page or the site involved would display “404 not found” before long.
Lu Xuan knew that the government was trying its best to maintain the last bit of order under the circ.u.mstances, but those efforts were destined to be futile. The tide was no longer how it was years ago when the Spiritual Qi was beginning to be restored to the world, and the scale was small, enabling an agency like the Special Task Force to keep things under control.
They would have all come to understand eventually, that a whole new world and a whole new era awaited them.
Lu Xuan’s powers grew over the past month, somewhat reaching the edge of Level Eight, and a further breakthrough was just a matter of time.
A Level Seven National Guardian was already strong enough to put the governments of smaller nations on guard, and the power of such a being would be even more frightening if they could reach Level Eight.
Lu Xuan was in no hurry to make a breakthrough. He was polishing his foundations, and the breakthrough would be an easy thing when the time came.
The consolidation pills that he intended to craft took him only a single day to make a bottle that contained 30 such pills.
He distributed the pills to his family members, as well as Shi Danze, Ding Zhuxuan, and Zhang Hongyang, leaving several for himself. The pills had truly proven effective.
Zhang Hongyang’s powers at Level Seven had been completely stabilized. As far as actual combat prowess went, he was every bit on par with that of Aida Ryosuke, whom Lu Xuan killed.
Shi Danze had made a breakthrough half a month ago, and even Ding Zhuxuan, who was the weakest of the lot, had already made it as a Martial Arts Legend just three days ago.
While their levels still needed to be stabilized further, the fact that they made it to become Martial Arts Legends remained. The changes to their powers were fundamental ones.
Other than that, Lu Xuan’s family members saw considerable progress in their respective training over the past month. The one who progressed the quickest was still his mother, Liu Wanrong. She seemed to have blitzed through her cultivation, becoming a Level Five Baodan Grandmaster just days ago.
Lu Shanshan was right after her mother in terms of rate of progress, becoming a Level Four HuaJin Master. Lu Tianxiang and Guoguo had both reached Level Three Hidden Energy level as well.
Such rapid progress was utterly terrifying in comparison to the rest of the world.
The most typical case happened with his sister, Lu Shanshan, who became the boss among the third years of her high school. She had become an idol of many of her peers, after teaching several punks and thugs who did not know their place.
She, no doubt, had a lot of admirers and pursuers as well. However, ever since she beat up someone who tried to make her his girlfriend by force so badly that he had to be hospitalized, no one dared mess with her anymore.
Lu Xuan, knowing how Lu Shanshan was forced to fight in her school, was considerably p.i.s.sed off. He had a very compelling urge to go to the hospital just to break the legs of that *sshole who bugged his sister, but he eventually held himself back.
His phone rang before long. He looked at the phone and saw that the caller was Ling Huang.
Both parties had not been in touch with each other for quite some time. They hardly contacted each other with the exception of sending greetings during festivals and holidays.
“Mr. Lu, we really need your help this time!”
Ling Huang’s tense and anxious voice was heard as soon as Lu Xuan picked up his phone.
“What’s the matter, President Ling? Just take it slowly,” Lu Xuan frowned and said.
“Fei blacked out, and I can’t tell you everything over the phone right now. Could you head over to Fu City, for now, Mr. Lu?” Ling Huang asked.
Lu Xuan then answered, “Sure, I’ll go at once.”
“Danze, head out to Fu City with me,” Lu Xuan then said.
Shi Danze was seen in the shadows of the balcony.
“Will do.”
Shi Danze nodded right away.
Lu Xuan was in the Ling Clan’s compound four hours later.
Ling Huang was pacing back and forth anxiously when he saw Lu Xuan arrive, and he looked as if he had just seen his savior.
“You’re finally here, Mr. Lu!”
“What actually happened?” Lu Xuan then asked, “How did Ling Fei pa.s.s out?”
Ling Huang took Lu Xuan to the second floor right away, where Ling Fei’s room was.
While Ling Fei appeared stoic and capable, her room looked very cute, and hues of pink were seen everywhere.
Ling Fei was on her bed, which looked like it was made for a princess. She looked radiant, just like a sleeping beauty.
Lu Xuan frowned right away. His eyes glinted and asked, “So you people have offended some kind of G.o.d, eh?”
“You really are something, Mr. Lu. I didn’t expect you to be able to tell right away!”
Ling Huang was overjoyed right away, seeing as how Lu Xuan was able to tell the cause of what had happened with just one look. He then continued, “Fei went on a trip to Southern Yunnan days ago. She then fell into a coma right after she came home. She’s been sleeping for days!
“We’ve had all manner of doctors look at her, but none of them proved to be of any use. They were unable to tell what was wrong with her. I got her examined in the hospital, going through a whole range of tests. She checked out just fine, but she’s still asleep.”
Lu Xuan snickered and said, “Of course you people are unable to find anything; someone put a Gu Curse on her.”
