Chapter 62.2 - Reopening a wound
As long as Lian’er could sit steadily as the legitimate wife, Qingwu’s marriage wouldn’t be a problem.
Furthermore, Qingwu had feelings towards Li Jingsheng and it’s not like sisters have never married one man before.
The mocking in Lou Qingwu’s mouth corner grew deeper, “As a concubine?”
He really didn’t care about anything except for Lou Lianxin.
Otherwise, was it the Ruan family that made him ready to abandon everything to suck up to them?
“Father, do you really think I’m heartless?”
She never asked for anything in her past life because she knew that Lou Qufeng didn’t like her.
So she’d always step back and never provoke him.
But even if she didn’t do anything, it didn’t mean that her good little sister and stepmother would think like that.
It wasn’t enough for them to personally torment her to death in her past life time, they also had to kill her child.
She hadn’t paid them back for that affair, and now, they wanted to add another affair onto that?
The hurt in Lou Qingwu’s eyes was too deep.
Lou Qufeng opened and closed his mouth before finally spitting out, “Father’s doing this for the family.”
“But the family you speak of has never had our place.”
She said “our” and not “my place”.
For some reason, Lou Qufeng’s face suddenly paled, “Qingwu, you …”
“Back then, for the sake of enticing the Ruan family, you married second mother. She hadn’t even come into the residence for a few years before she forced mother to jump into the lake and die of sickness. Even up until now, her corpse is missing and there’s only her clothes left. So now, you want to force your daughter to die too?”
Lou Qingwu’s voice was soft but every single word was like cold ice piercing Lou Qufeng’s heart.
His face was frighteningly pale but in the end, he forced himself to hold it in.
His eyes flashed anger, “Qingwu, is this the type of att.i.tude you have when speaking with your father?”
Even if it was his fault, so what?
If she married into this Lou family, then she would be his Lou family’s person in life and in death, hid Lou family’s ghost.
He couldn’t just marry one person and that Ning family had declined years before.
If he didn’t marry Ruan Zhen, how else could he fight with everyone else?
So even if he was wrong, it wasn’t up until this brat to teach him a lesson!
Lou Qingwu didn’t say anything else.
Even if she did say anything, it still wasn’t strong enough to beat the word “power”.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have just left her mother to die.
She suddenly turned around, her slender finger bringing a sense of loneliness and coldness.
“Father, I’ll pretend I didn’t hear anything today. The reason for the last lifetime is the result of this lifetime. Lianxin little sister and second mother originally wanted to scheme things, so they should’ve been prepared for this outcome. Your daughter isn’t a saint and can’t repay in kindness for a grudge.”
“If you can persuade the emperor or the people of Dongyu to believe that it was your daughter who had a poisonous heart and schemed to harm Lianxin little sister, then your daughter won’t have anything to say. Otherwise … don’t blame your daughter for not taking into account family.”
Lou Qufeng hatefully glared at her, “You …”
“After all …. the first to be heartless was them.”
She was also human, she had a heart too.
It’s not that she didn’t know hurt, but her heart was already numb.
But this didn’t mean that she would let them bully her however they liked!
“Father, after last night’s affairs, I don’t think it would be good for Lianxin little sister and me to meet up again. When I leave the palace, I’ll go the Jingxin temple that is ten miles out, to eat vegetarian for a few days and temporarily, won’t come back to the residence.”
She didn’t turn around to look at Lou Qufeng’s expression before stepping out of the garden pavilion.
Right until she stepped out of the residence’s door, as she bathed under the sunlight, she felt her whole body so cold that it was shaking.
She lifted her head and looked at the piercing sun, dazed.
Her eyes hurt so much that they wouldn’t open but she still continued to look up.
She widened her eyes until the wetness completely went away and only then, did she calmly close her eyes.
When she opened her eyes, they returned back to normal.
She calmly walked to the front of the carriage, stepped on the stool and walked inside, leaving without even turning her head back.
She’d lost all of her relatives before in her past life.
But she still couldn’t believe it, and just had to reopen her wounds.
It was only a pity, that they were still fresh and dripping with blood.

TL note:
Reminds me of that scene in Palace when the fourth prince says that whenever he wants to cry, he looks up until he doesn’t want to cry any more.
