Chapter 78.2 - His legitimate consort

His originally dark and solemn eyes were a bit brighter.
If he really had to marry someone, he hoped that person, would be her.
Even though empress-mother had already asked her opinion, if he wanted to vie for the position of the crown prince, he’d have to get married first.
Mother had thought about it and decided to use this rose hibiscus festival to choose a legitimate consort for him.
After a few days, if she thought it through and was willing to become a side consort or even a concubine, even if her rank wasn’t right, no one would say anything.
There was no one else in the whole capital who he wanted to marry.
Originally, he’d been worried that she wouldn’t go.
But if she was willing to go, did that mean &h.e.l.lip; that she wasn’t so opposed to marriage?
Even if her reputation wasn’t well because of what happened three years ago, he didn’t care at all.
As long as he schemed a little during the festival, it wouldn’t be impossible for her to become his legitimate consort, just as long as on mother’s side &h.e.l.lip;.
He thought for a bit longer as his eyes grew deeper, he would definitely persuade his mother.
Lou Qingwu was completely oblivious to Xiahou Rui’s thoughts.
She only thought it was a simple rose hibiscus festival but who knew that once she entered the palace, she’d change a few people’s fates.
And it would change her own plans irrevocably.
Lou Qingwu and Lan Bai sat in the Night Prince’s carriage on their way to his residence.
Lan Bai was still angry about how Xiahou Liuyun pulled her away from Lou Qingwu’s side, complaining, “Master, who did you see today. That Liuyun gentleman was really annoying.”
But after she finished asking, Lan Bai immediately covered her mouth, feeling as if she was speaking too much.
If master didn’t want to tell her who those two people were, and she asked so brazenly, would master dislike her?
“If you find him annoying, don’t bother with him next time. As for his ident.i.ty, once you enter the palace with me in a few days, you’ll know.”
The empress prepared a festival and according to the seventh prince’s personality, he definitely wouldn’t miss this chance to be rowdy.
She waited a while for Lan Bai’s response but she was still silent, so Lou Qingwu turned to look at her.
Seeing at her small face now, she didn’t have even an ounce of that proud and lofty expression that she had back at the black market.
After all, she was only 13-14 years old, and was still a child at heart.
“Don’t worry, if there’s anything you want to ask in the future, just ask.”
“But &h.e.l.lip;”
“What, you don’t believe me?” She couldn’t tell her straight forwardly that she trusted her, but time would tell her.
She would give her the best life possible, not allowing her to die so obscurely.
Maybe it was because Lou Qingwu’s eyes were too clear, too sincere, that they were able to wash away the torment that she’d suffered this past half year.
Lan Bai finally laughed again, “Okay, Lan Bai will remember.”
When Lou Qingwu reached the Night Prince’s residence, Feng Yege had already arrived.
Feng Yege lived at Qingge Little BUilding so Lou Qingwu asked for the housekeeper to settle Lan Bai somewhere else, before striding in herself.
Like she thought, there weren’t any maid servants or servants at all.
It was completely silent, a rare type of clear and calm silence.
When she was close to Feng Yege’s rooms, she heard a zither sound from outside.
It was relaxing and clear, as if some spring water was flowing to the tip of her heart.
It made your whole person feel as if you were submerged in it, all of your pores opened up and as if your mind was instantly cleared.
She knocked and hearing a response, opened the door.
She saw Feng Yege sitting on the couch, with a seven stringed zither on the desk in front of him.
His long fingers slid over the zither strings like water.
She leaned on the doorframe as she looked at the cleanly handsome person in front of her.
The tightness that she’d felt today, from the moment that she saw him, instantly dissipated.

TL note:
I knew the author wouldn’t abandon Feng Yege *relieved breath*.
