When she finished speaking, she clapped her hands and footsteps sounding from outside.

A few people came in to the main hall.

The first man wore common clothes but when Zhou Chengtian saw her face, froze, “Official Zong Ping, how did you come here?”

The justice department’s Zong Ping wiped away the sweat beading at his forehead, forcing laughter, “Official Zhou should just think of me as a witness.”

He didn’t dare to say anything else..

He only used the corner of his eyes to sneak a peek at Li Miao before silently lowering his head.

Even though the right prime minister was his superior and he normally wouldn’t dare to offend him, the Night Prince was someone he couldn’t offend more.

Zong Ping wanted to cry as he stood behind Lou Qingwu.

Behind him, were the justice department’s jail guards from that night and just like Zong Ping, they also stood uneasily behind him.

Lou Qingwu saw that everyone had arrived and then looked towards Li Xiangluan, “I believe madam Mu isn’t unfamiliar with these people.”

Li Xiangluan’s hands twisted tightly as she looked away, “I don’t know what you’re saying.”

“Really?” Lou Qingwu laughed coolly.

She curled her lips as she looked at Zong Ping, “Official Zong, do speak, who sent Su Sheng over that night?”

Zong Ping wiped away the sweat from his forehead and didn’t dare to look at Li Miao at all.

“It &h.e.l.lip;. It was Li Xiangluan, the madam Mu in front.”

“Oh? When she sent her over, did she say anything?”

“She, she said, that this person was an a.s.sa.s.sin who tried to kill official Mu Yunqing and that there was conclusive evidence so we should treat her ‘well’ &h.e.l.lip;.”

Zong Ping almost couldn’t continue on.

He mumbled and tried to gloss over it before deciding to continue, “She also said that if Su Sheng was stubborn, we could give her some ‘colour’ to see if she still wouldn’t confess, because we had conclusive evidence. She also said that even if we beat her to death, there’d be no problems.”

“Beat her to death, and there’d be  &h.e.l.lip; no problems?”

Those nine words were mumbled by someone behind them.

Li Xiangluan’s face suddenly changed.

She turned around to see Mu Yunqing’s eyes that had somehow fell on her, she immediately began shaking her head, “Yunqing, listen, listen to me &h.e.l.lip;.”

Mu Yunqing didn’t say anything else, he just continued to stare at her, his expression frightening.

Li Xiangluan then began to feel uneasy.

She suddenly turned to look at Lou Qingwu, “What did you do? What is your relation to that woman?!”

Lou Qingwu blew away a strand of her hair off her fingernail, “It’s nothing really. I just can’t stand those who do evil deeds to continue living happily.”

“You!” Li Xiangluan sucked in a deep breath.

Knowing that today, she had Zong Ping as evidence, she wouldn’t be able to escape from the offence of having whipped Su Sheng to death.

She tightly shut her eyes and opened them again.

Her eyes cleared.

“Official Zhou, even if this official’s madam told them to give her a bit of a lesson, that’s all because of my love for my husband. She hurt my husband so I wanted to take revenge for him, is that so wrong?”

At least, that Su Sheng did try to a.s.sa.s.sinate Yunqing.

She’d already admitted to that offence so she couldn’t do anything about that.

Lou Qingwu looked at her coldly but didn’t say a word.

Zhou Chengtian looked at Lou Qingwu and then back at Li Xiangluan, then to Li Miao.

He felt like his head was full of sweat.

This offence couldn’t be described as large, but it wasn’t small either.

After all, she did whip someone to death, but that whipped deceased person was a criminal so &h.e.l.lip;.

This was &h.e.l.lip; hard to deal with.

So he decided to change topics, he looked at Lou Qingwu, “That third offence does have evidence to back it up. But what about the first and second?”

Selling an innocent woman, forcing her into prost.i.tution?

Those crimes were much more serious than the third.

Li Xiangluan laughed coldly inside.

It’s already been so many years, so if she wanted to find evidence, it’d be even harder than stepping onto the sky!

She really wanted to see how this little left prime minister’s daughter that wasn’t even doted on would be able to do anything!
