Back to the present. Beyond the gra.s.sland, there was a huge field of flowers ahead. This flower field was not here before. It was a product of the change that the world went through. Most of the flowers were sunflowers. These sunflowers were not just regular sunflowers. They were very large and tall, doubled the size of a regular person. They all uniformly faced one direction: the sun.
The wind blew and the sunflowers moved in the direction of the wind before rebounding back to its original place. Surrounding the sunflowers were smaller flowers of myriad shades. White, purple, pink. These different hues decorated the gra.s.sland.
The sun was still high in the sky. There were barely any clouds. It was a nice day. The shadow of the sunflowers provided a cool shade.
Spring-Autumn laid Rainmist down. His aged eyes were staring off into the distance. He lifted his hand up to feel the surrounding mana.
"Such thick mana… I"ve missed it,"
The world had just recently changed. It had not been a year yet since all the changes had happened. Mana was always abundant in the air in quant.i.ties that made it practically tangible.
A piece of gra.s.s flickered and suddenly transformed into a huge plant monster. It roared and pounced onto Spring-Autumn who was enjoying the shade of the sunflower.
Spring-Autumn chuckled and flickered his hand, rendering the plant monster into dust. With such dense mana, monsters would sp.a.w.n in by itself even without the a.s.sistance of dungeons.
Time pa.s.sed by slowly. The clouds drifted and the wind continued to blow. Rainmist began to wake up.
Spring-Autumn closed his eyes and smoke covered his body. When Rainmist completely opened her eyes, the "present" Spring-Autumn had returned.
Poof!
The smoke dissipated to reveal his body. Spring-Autumn looked around the flower field before landing his eyes on Rainmist who had just recently awakened.
Rainmist could still remember the huge crowd that was out for Spring-Autumn before she blanked out. Her heart was relieved when she saw that Spring-Autumn was safe and sound. There was no need for unnecessary questions.
"Where are we going now?" She asked as she sat herself up.
Spring-Autumn had already regained his composure. "We"re going to find Sirius,"
"Do you know where he is?"
"No…"
"..."
"We"ll just keep wandering around and we"ll find him one day," Spring-Autumn said in a carefree manner.
To that, Rainmist could only sigh. "This place is quite beautiful. Where are we?"
Spring-Autumn sniffed the air to smell the wonderful fragrance of the flowers around them. "No idea,"
"..." Rainmist was speechless.
"Let"s find a place we can stay for the night. The sun will fall in a couple of hours and bad things will happen," Spring-Autumn stood up and patted his b.u.t.t.
He then offered his hand to lift Rainmist up. She took the hand and they began to walk through the flower field.
Sirius…
Spring-Autumn recalled what he encountered in the future.
"Teleportation Gate? Who made this?"
"Oh, it was Lord Sirius,"
"Floating islands?"
"Yeah… it was made by Lord Sirius,"
"What about this ugly car?"
"You already know,"
From that moment, Spring-Autumn knew. He had to leach onto that man!
[Genius of a Generation]. t.i.tles did not lie. If he could not leach onto the man, he had to at least establish some sort of connection with the guy.
The world he had seen in the future had far exceeded his imagination. Most of this appeared to be possible because of the inventions of future Sirius. Teleportation Gates that linked the world together. It would not be wrong to say that it was the main tool used by humans to unify together.
Spring-Autumn and Rainmist walked through the flower field at their own leisurely pace. The temperature was starting to cool down. Night was coming soon. He took her by the waist and jumped high into the sky.
[Attribute Cloak: Glider Form]
They glided through the sky.
"Ah, there"s a tree," Spring-Autumn said as they flew through the sky.
The cold wind brushed against their faces. Rainmist"s hair fluttered freely, some strands going into Spring-Autumn"s mouth who just opened his lips to speak.
With the use of a glider, they were able to traverse through the flower fields quickly to locate a tree. Under the effects of the apocalypse, most trees were gigantic now. This tree they found was no exception.
It was a lone tree in this flower field. Towering so high that it would require one to crane their neck to see the top if they were standing on the ground.
The leaves of this tree were a beautiful pale purple color that had just bloomed from the past spring.
"How gorgeous!" Rainmist exclaimed.
The sun was falling quick, dying the clouds streaks of red which acted as the perfect background for this huge tree.
"Yes, quite nice," Spring-Autumn nodded. "We have to kick out the owners before we go in though,"
They began to descend from the sky and arrived at the foot of the tree.
As one would expect from such a huge tree, the foot of the tree was dark from the overcast shadow of the tree branches.
A few nests were visible from the branches of the tree. The nests had an illuminating property that lit up the bottom of the tree slightly.
Unexpectedly, the nests did not house birds. Instead, there were glowing chickens inside although one could argue that chickens were birds.
"Cuck?" They tilted their head in confusion at the arrival of Spring-Autumn and Rainmist.
"My house now!" Spring-Autumn laughed as he kicked out these glowing chickens one by one.
"Cuck! Cuck! Cuck!"
A dozen glowing chickens floated down from the tree pathetically after getting kicked out by Spring-Autumn. They were incapable of flight and it was unknown how they managed to get up to their nest in the first place.
Spring-Autumn laughed loudly as they floated down slowly, like burnt out lanterns on a festive night.
"They look cute. You should"ve left some here," Rainmist pouted.
"You"re quite a fearless one now, aren"t you," Spring-Autumn shook his head implying the possible danger of these glowing chickens.
"That"s because I have you," Rainmist retorted with a smile.
Spring-Autumn could only chuckled, "How romantic,"
