LEIASweat clung to his forehead and he was in his shorts and a casual T-shirt. It had been so long since I"d seen him in such clothes. His hair was a disheveled mess, so different from its usual perfection. It made him look younger, a little rougher around the edges.
His brows were furrowed in fury as he pounced on Ammar, who landed on his back with a thud. I watched in utter fascination and part-worry as Zayn plunged a fist straight to his nose. There was a distinct sound of bone breaking and I winced.
"Don"t kill him," My voice was just a notch above whispering.
I just didn"t want Zayn in jail. Though the look Zayn gave me said he could easily get out so he wasn"t worried in the least. I almost rolled my eyes. Rich people.
Zayn did not look amused. No, he landed another punch to Ammar"s jaw, who grunted and thrashed to do some damage to Zayn but was unsuccessful.
"I"ve spent way too much time dislocating pretty faces like yours," Zayn spat, "It"s a pity I won"t be able to kill you today. I don"t think my warning was enough, though, was it?" He shook Ammar by the collar who only groaned, blood pooling out of his nostril and an angry gash trailing over his jaw.
Surprisingly, I felt no sympathy.
Then, Zayn looked me square in the eye, throwing me off-guard with the burning, ravenous intensity. I could only lose myself in the dark pools of his eyes. "What do you want me to do to him?"
It was sweet that he still thought of my opinion when he was deep in rage. I gave him a smile, watching his shoulders relax just an inch, as if just seeing that I was okay was a relief. How was I so lucky to have him?
"Make him go back to the UK," I said, heart thrumming, unable to believe this was finally happening. "He shouldn"t return. Ever."
Zayn nodded, producing something from his pocket. It was a folded up paper and I watched in confusion and beguilement as he slid out a pen too, slamming them both against Ammar"s chest.
Clarity lit up almost instantly as I saw Ammar get up in a sitting position and as his face morphed into a scowl.
"How dare you?" He seethed, making an effort to stand but Zayn kicked him back down with a foot, seeming annoyed.
"I dare," he enunciated the word with a scoff. "because that"s what my Leia wanted. And you will divorce her if you want to get out with your limbs intact. Of course, jail is another option." Zayn hummed, as if that created a pleasant picture in his mind. "Imagine how many years you would be rotting in jail for forced marriage. Is it five? Or ten?"
Ammar quivered, jaw ticking. Though, I saw none of the anger on his face that he directed at me usually. None of his blackmailing. In fact, that was Zayn"s role now. It made me greatly pleased.
"Now sign,"
Zayn held my gaze, asking for confirmation. I nodded, nerves knotted up inside me.
