Da Tian Ting took her shredded heart onto the dark streets. She was a lost small boat in a vast ocean. She didn’t know where her home was.
Da Tian Ting couldn’t go to her uncle’s home or the Shang family home. She didn’t want to return to her lonely apartment.
Da Tian Ting stood at the bus bay. She didn’t know what bus to catch. She wanted her mum to hold her and have a good cry. But she knew it was impossible.
Da Tian Ting sat on a bench, and cried alone. Her heart felt colder than the cold windy night. She thought there were people who cared about her even if she didn’t have her parents in her life. She was wrong, she was alone in the world.
Da Tian Ting’s phone rang. It was a number she didn’t recognise. She thought it was a prank caller to mock her when she hit rock bottom.
‘Right now I want to die,’ Da Tian Ting said. ‘Don’t bother me. Go and find another person to prank tonight.’
Da Tian Ting hung up the phone.
Feng Kai Ze took Da Tian Ting’s careless words seriously.
Feng Kai Ze had to explain until he was blue in the face for him to be released from the psychiatric ward. Then he drove to Da Tian Ting’s apartment, and waited all day for her to come home.
Feng Kai Ze was worried something happened to Da Tian Ting. He called her several times before she picked up her phone. Hearing her say she wanted to kill herself made him forget about being angry at her for lying to the doctor.
Feng Kai Ze didn’t care if Da Tian Ting was being serious or not, he had to find her before she didn’t anything to harm herself.
Feng Kai Ze called Yang Fei’s phone.
‘Yang Fei, I don’t care what method you use,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘Within two hours, I want you to find out where Da Tian Ting is.’
