Charlie nodded in understanding and got up, leading the group into his office. Hailey"s eyes followed them as she watched Jason speak to her boss and then they entered her boss"s office. The office was quaint and straightforward. With a simple grey cabinet in the corner and a cheap wooden office table with a black rolling chair, papers were on top of the table thrown about at random. The office seemed like a typical office you could find in any backroom, but that was the whole point of its design.
"There"s just a false panel right here" Charlie gestured to a panel of wood on the table. He smoothly pulled the board back and underneath was a small switch. As soon as Charlie hit the switch, the wall beside the desk pressed back and opened to reveal a staircase leading down. Charlie walked down the stairs into a second store. The store had redwood floor panels and red everything else. It looked like a jewellery store but with drops of red blood and certain ores and creature material instead of gemstones. On the opposite end of the store was a gla.s.s wall with a door, and through the wall, you can see other stores, and it was practically a monster strip mall underground.
(Looks exactly like how someone who has never met a vampire would decorate it and yet it was designed by a real vampire what a joke)

Charlie approached one of the cases and grabbed out a bottle of blood and opened it. The bottle was ornate and made out of gla.s.s, and there was also a crystal stopper on top which Charlie just removed. The bottle came forward and offered Jason a whiff of the blood inside the container.
"This is the B+ we offer I can guarantee the quality of the blood you are purchasing. The bottle is just a sample for you. We can send the blood to your address if you like, or we can retrieve it for you now." Charlie was interested in which option this stranger before him would choose. If he decided to have it delivered, it proved he was confident in his strength that if his location is traced, no trouble will befall him or that he could handle any crisis. If they chose to retrieve it now, then it showed that he is cautious and does not wish for his home to be found. But taking it now did not exactly mean he was afraid or weak.
"We will take it right now." Jason was uncertain about a lot of things concerning his vampire side, and he wasn"t looking forward to more intruders in his home, even if he got two decent subordinates out of it.
Jason waved with his hand to command Ashley and Michael to get the blood. Seeing the twins walk forward, Charlie disappeared into a backdoor before reappearing shortly with a black barrel. While the barrel was sizeable with the strength being a vampire afforded him, Charlie could easily lift it with one hand. While the blood was pa.s.sed off to the twins, Jason stood alone in the store and started to browse the displays. Within one of the cases was a red crystal, it shined in the light and quietly called to Jason as he looked at it. Jason felt urging deep inside that made him want to possess this crystal. But all the money had been spent, and he knew better than to try to rob this store and try to make it out. It wasn"t even a certainty that Jason could break the gla.s.s here. He could see faint glimmers of gold within the gla.s.s, and thin rune-like patterns carved onto the gla.s.s. As expected, if you didn"t have some tricks up your sleeves, you wouldn"t be able to do business around here. Giving up, Jason pulled himself away from the crystal and walked over to Charlie, who was standing alongside the black barrel.
Pulling out bundles of money from his waistband, he handed it all to Charlie " Heres your cash. There"s a bit extra there you can keep."
"Thank you, and it was a pleasure doing business with you. If you would like to use our other exit, there is another door behind you that will lead you to an alleyway by the coffee shop, but if you would like, you can leave through the way you came. I will be leaving now." Saying his piece, Charlie turned around to count his money peacefully behind a counter.
Seeing Charlie leave, Jason turned to the twins and ordered them to take the barrel back to the condo and after they were free. There was a particular person in a coffee shop that is probably very confused right now.
After giving his orders, Jason turned around to leave as well, heading back up the stairs and into the office. As soon as he entered the office, the wall behind him sealed up automatically and closed, leaving him standing alone in the office. Jason took a peek out the window trying to see what Hailey was doing. She was standing by the register cleaning the counter. The coffee shop was empty, leaving her to be the only one left in the shop. Jason"s phone lit up as he checked the time. It was 6:00 pm it seemed that his little time out in that world with his supposed grandfather took more time out than he had realized. Jason took a second to clean up his appearance before he stepped out of the office and made his move to the counter to speak to Hailey. As he walked toward her, his hands drifted into his pocket, and he felt his fingers brush up against a crystal that was the pocket. Reaching deeper into his pocket, Jason quickly realized what was in his pocket. It was the red crystal he had seen in the store. How it had gotten into his pocket though, was a mystery. Holding the jewel in his hand, he could feel it slowly get softer within his hands. Gradually as the crystal got softer and softer, it merged with Jason"s hand and disappeared into his flesh. Eventually, Jason could no longer feel anything in his pocket.
(Okay, well now apparently I"m a thief. f.u.c.king great, I just stole from a vampire that I don"t know, and it melts in my pocket. Perfect! Hopefully, he never finds out it was me.)
