Chapter Ch50 - Not Worth Mentioning, Indeed

However, White Thousand Degrees had no way to wait for his so-called ‘copyright lawsuit’ to win.
Because Victor then told him that as Lord Four’s legal representative, he was also accusing him of plagiarizing Lord Four’s ‘flash’ technique.
The rights to this technique had always belonged to Lord Four from start to finish!
There would never be any opportunities for a rat who stole things from others to mention anything about copyright!
White Thousand Degrees wanted to fight with copyright lawsuits and win a long, protracted war? Victor wouldn’t give him a chance.
Victor: I said I’d make you go bankrupt, so you should go and become bankrupt first! Since you want to fight with lawsuits, I’m going to leave you with a disgraced reputation. Hmph!
.
So, this wave of attention finally landed on Lord Four’s body.
Lord Four was unlike the other two individuals involved in this matter. As a public figure, he was a frequent hot topic and his popularity level had always been high––as long as the individual compet.i.tion was ongoing, he would always be the center of attention.
The members of the media were all very excited. As long as this matter involved Lord Four’s popularity, how could people possibly not pay attention to it?
Many people tagged Lord Four on their blogs, even knowing that it was very unlikely that this iceberg-like male G.o.d would respond to them. At the very least, they could gain some sense of existence, right?
Since then, many official media accounts also began to tag Lord Four.
Reporters took turns bombarding him with messages, asking Lord Four to express his thoughts: What was Lord Four’s own view on White Thousand Degrees’ ‘instant cut’? Was it a copy or imitation of ‘flash’? If so, what was Lord Four’s att.i.tude towards White Thousand Degrees?
At last.
Lord Four finally seemed to have become annoyed by all the tagging and directly sent out a blog post. The content was:
[ Clay chickens and pottery dogs. Not worth mentioning. ]
.
Many people instantly burst out in excitement!
Lord Four’s fans’ general style was like this: “Mom, my family’s male G.o.d is so domineering!”
“Okay, okay, okay, male G.o.d said that it’s a clay chicken, so it’s a clay chicken. How about I make soup for you to drink tonight?”
“Hahaha! What contempt for his intelligence! That White XX couldn’t even learn it, yet he dared to say that he would compare techniques with the War G.o.d?”
White Thousand Degrees’ fans also blew up in anger. “How great can the War G.o.d be?! Is it so amazing to be a professional player in the compet.i.tion? If our Brother Thousand Degrees went out to compete, would it even become your turn to become acknowledged as a G.o.d?!”
“What ‘flash’. How could it be as amazing as ‘instant cut’? If it is, why didn’t he make a video about it?”
“Our Brother Degrees is so good that he even brought out his technique and taught it to everybody. Some people just can’t tell good from bad and are just acting out of jealousy!”
……
Predictably, the fans from both sides began to haggle and fight.
White Thousand Degrees’ fans thought that White Thousand Degrees was more powerful, and they felt that he had been very generous in explaining how his technique had been accomplished (they chose to selectively ignore that the second half of White Thousand Degrees’s video, which contained the instructions, charged per view);
Lord Four’s fans felt that White Thousand Degrees was doing it all for the sake of popularity. Not only had he copied and imitated Lord Four’s flash, he was even bragging about being able to match up to Lord Four.
Finally, they started a trend: #Fight! Flash vs Instant Cut#
.
Some people gathered together and started a signed pet.i.tion, wanting to invite Lord Four and White Thousand Degrees to compare techniques.
However, White Thousand Degrees was now mired in a troublesome lawsuit with a large group of users of his pirated site busy biting at his heels.
So, White Thousand Degrees’ fans finally latched onto an excuse and said, “Our Brother Degrees can make so much money per minute. Is he someone that will compare just because you asked him to? That’s treating him too cheaply! Having one of Brother Degrees’ disciples go up and compare is about right!”
Therefore, they pushed out a second-tier contestant, who could be considered the most powerful person amongst those who had learned from White Thousand Degrees’ instant cut video. His task was to compare techniques––he was to use ‘instant cut’, and nothing else.
Lord Four’s fans: “Hahahaha I’m dying of laughter! They’re so scared of Lord Four that they only dare to compete for a single second? Our Lord Four’s flash can be used continuously, but your instant cut can only be used once and even requires a lead-in and backwards shake. If the match only lasts for a second, it’ll cover up instant cut’s weakness. Isn’t that too unfair?”
However, after secretly receiving White Thousand Degrees’ instructions, the fans still continued to push out that second-tier player and clamored for Lord Four to show up or find someone who could use flash to compare with.
This seemed like a big joke. Other than Lord Four, who else in this world could use flash?
How could someone as cold and n.o.ble as Lord Four personally come out for such a small thing?
Lord Four’s fans: “See, our Lord Four’s too lazy to bother with you guys. There’s no need for us to instigate him, Lord Four’s playing in the individual compet.i.tion finals tomorrow, how could he have time to concern himself with you all?!”
White Thousand Degrees’s fans: “After talking back and forth, just admit that he’s scared!”
Lord Four’s fans were about to die from anger. They really couldn’t justify calling Lord Four out to deal with a small bug, it was like using a big cow butchering knife to kill a small chicken; but there was n.o.body else who could use flash, and it was even less of a possibility that they could ask Lord Four to really do an instructional video for others to compare with.
White Thousand Degrees’s fans were full of glee. They spread through the entire network that Lord Four was afraid of coming out to fight, and White Thousand Degrees would win by default.
However, they weren’t happy for long before someone actually stepped out.
––Victor.
.
Victor really stepped up and published a reply on his blog, “h.e.l.lo, everyone! I learned ‘flash’ from Lord Four yesterday! Can I go up on stage to compare?”
Everyone: “……” Representative-kun, is this alright?! Although you’re very impressive, you aren’t very powerful in this aspect! For better or worse, the other party is still a professional player. As someone who has never partic.i.p.ated in e-sports, do you really dare to go up?
Everyone was in a panic.
Later on, Victor added another sentence, “Lord Four agreed.”
Everyone’s hearts immediately turned steady.
.
This custom entertainment match was determined in such an amusing manner.
The match was opened up to the audience, meaning that everyone could enter the room directly and watch it. Of course, it wasn’t the same as sitting in an auditorium. In order to save s.p.a.ce, there were no audience stands and the people in the audience were unable to see each other.
If the audience wanted to communicate, they had to do it through the public screen.
At the start, there was someone who said, “This is White Thousand Degrees’s apprentice vs Odin’s apprentice.”
White Thousand Degrees’s apprentice was a professional player, while Odin’s apprentice was a handsome president.
When they stood face-to-face in the arena, the contrast was very clear: One side was full of a murderous aura and it was obvious at a glance that they were a skilled player who had partic.i.p.ated in several games. The other side had Victor, who was observing the arena curiously. He appeared both tall and handsome as he stood there like a n.o.ble and rich aristocrat about to make a speech at a high-cla.s.s banquet.
Everyone: “……”
Victor even stepped up to shake hands before they began the match, putting on a practiced smile as he said, “I’m glad to meet you. Let’s chat over a cup of tea when we’re free.”
His opponent had a grim expression on his face as they shook hands.
Victor’s smile was still very pure as he continued, “Don’t worry. I won’t do anything to you in secret regardless of whether I win or lose this game.”
“……”
His opponent shuddered involuntarily, suddenly realizing that this guy wasn’t a newbie player. He was a corporate president that was fully able to use his power to bully others…
.
Victor certainly wasn’t trying to bully others. In fact, he was actually, genuinely using his power and influence to threaten them.
Tyron was always teasing and threatening him. Victor had been bullied too much that he had learned these means!
This could only be blamed on Tyron’s evil tastes!
Victor tried it and found that it… really, felt, particularly, awesome!
Therefore, before the match began, Victor deliberately picked up the two daggers in a clumsy manner and sliced the air. Showing an uncertain expression, he said, “It was agreed that we would only compete for one second. Please show me mercy after instant cut and flash have been sent out!”
The player opposing him saw that he was nervous and immediately grew confident. He even became rather excited in his heart. If he was able to defeat Odin’s apprentice here, then he would become famous with this one match no matter what, right?
Then, after the thirty-second countdown ended, he raised his sword in excitement!
Running lead-up!
Instant…
No instant cut!
Victor’s flash had already killed him!
The match lasted a total of 0.97 seconds!
Everyone: “……” EXCUSE ME???
.
Since it had been agreed that this match would only be a comparison of the ‘flash’ and ‘instant cut’ techniques, the health volume of both sides had been adjusted so it would only require two hits for them to die.
That meant that as long as ‘instant cut’ and ‘flash’ were used against each other, the difference in damage would immediately be reflected in the health bars of both sides.
However, in this situation, ‘instant cut’ hadn’t been released at all. That man had still been in the lead-up stage and Victor had already sliced him up in the blink of an eye!
Victor was smiling widely as he said, “Thanks for taking it easy.”
His opponent: “I’m! Not! Convinced! I was still running! You took advantage of others’ weaknesses to win without a proper fight!”
“Alright, then. I’ll give you one second to run ahead of time.” Victor was very willing to give him some leeway.
.
Thirty seconds later.
The opponent pulled out his sword, started running, and instant… cut halfway!
Victor flashed and appeared behind him with a broad smile on his face!
His opponent died again!
Everyone: “……”
After a while, someone spoke up on the public screen and said, “Why do I suddenly feel that Lord Four’s representative-kun is also a little scary…”
“Lord Four’s flash is very terrifying in its coldness, but representative-kun’s perfect smile after his flash… always makes me feel just as scared!”
“So if we bring it back to the topic, Lord Four’s flash has only been taught to representative-kun and n.o.body else, making representative-kun into an apprentice-kun… I suddenly feel that this master and apprentice meme is very cute, what should I do!!! [misplaced emphasis]”
.
Everyone felt that the results of this match left no room for discussion.
It was enough that flash won, but it also only required one second to win!
It could still be understood if it had been a more powerful character who had won, but instead, it was a layman who had learned flash only one day ago!
This… How could these results even be questioned?
However, a portion of White Thousand Degrees’s fans were very unwilling to accept this. The more swollen their faces became from being slapped, the more they wanted to resist. They insisted, “You guys are bullying people! You’re bullying us by taking advantage of the fact that instant cut is slower! This match isn’t fair!”
Lord Four’s fans: The other side no longer has any logical arguments or moral integrity. Let’s go.
That being said, only a few people from the audience actually left.
Lord Four’s fans all stirred up trouble collectively, sending an emoticon of Lord Four’s usual posture one after another: arms crossed over his chest, his gaze distant as though everyone was beneath his notice.
They didn’t quarrel. They simply used emoticons to beat the world!
White Thousand Degrees’ fans who were being made fun of were about to explode from anger! They said that they wanted to compete using someone else!
Victor was still grinning broadly as he said, “Sure, sure. Same rules. Anyone who is willing to come up to compete with me can do so.”
By this time, the second-tier contestant who had competed against him before had thoroughly understood that something wasn’t quite right and had silently slipped away while clutching his tail between his legs.
And out of the people remaining, most of them looked at Victor’s appearance and instantly felt that he really didn’t have much combat power!
––In fact, this was indeed true. Victor only knew how to flash, and couldn’t even execute the most basic attack. If this was any other type of match, he would’ve lost long ago.
However, this arena had special rules. They were only comparing one second worth of technique and their health would drop as soon as they were hit! As long as Victor brainlessly used ‘flash’, he would be invincible.
Many of White Thousand Degrees’s fans didn’t understand this truth. Instead, they were all eager to line up and give it a try.
……
Five minutes later, Victor had reached six consecutive wins!
The crowd: Everyone who went before me were all garbage. I can win if I go up!
……
Ten minutes later, Victor had reached seventeen consecutive wins!
The crowd: It, it seems that something’s wrong.
……
Thirty minutes later, Victor killed the thirty-second person. Each match only took one second, and most of the time had been spent waiting for the next person to come up and the countdown to finish!
Victor waved his daggers and said, “I’m a little tired. I didn’t even spend this much time learning flash from the War G.o.d. Are you guys still fighting? Next.”
The crowd: trembling in fear.jpg
After waiting for a long time, n.o.body continued to question Lord Four’s flash. They used frightened gazes to look up at the domineering president who was still standing on the stage.
Victor tossed away the two daggers. They made two crisp ringing sounds as they landed.
“’Clay chickens and pottery dogs. Not worth mentioning.’, indeed.” Victor showed a very pure smile as he spoke these words.
