Returning To Dreamscape

‘Whether it’s the ancient Magi sealed at the core of the Weave or existences of laws outside, none are easily dealt with…’

Leylin stroked his chin, already having a clear strategy in mind. ’So having these two sides control each other seems like a good idea. Whatever it is, when the time comes… With the advantage of having the leader and a tyrant, I’ll still get the greatest benefits anyway!’

For these benefits Leylin had to create a good impression. At the very least, he guaranteed that when the time came and he called out loud numerous rank 7 Magi would follow him to explore the treasures of the World of G.o.ds…

“I’ll still need to wait for the faith to ama.s.s. However, the exploration of Dreamscape can begin soon…”

Leylin muttered under his breath, body gradually becoming invisible before he vanished.

In the vast, boundless cosmic plane, the Magus World and World of G.o.ds were like the larger parts of funnels, taking up the most s.p.a.ce and resources and having the most powerful World Wills and Origin Force.

Numerous small worlds like stars surrounded them like sand, the strongest amongst them being Purgatory, Shadow, Ice and so on…

However, in all these worlds, there was an interesting existence.

It was everywhere and grew with dreams, yet had true forms. At the peak of its World Origin Force, it did not seem lacking in comparison to the Magus World and World of G.o.ds.

This was Dreamscape! Full of incredible and strange phenomenons, bizarre and terrifying, and a world that could even warp time and s.p.a.ce!

Up till this point, Dreamscape was the only amazing thing able to make contact with the World of G.o.ds without being suppressed too much.

In ancient times, the Nightmare King who had the Nightmare Absorbing Physique used the shortest time possible to reach the peak of rank 8, turning up his nose at numerous Magi and becoming the nightmare of the G.o.ds.

If not for his wish for death, there was nothing the World of G.o.ds could do against him.

Now, Leylin, who had inherited his bloodline force, now saw things from the view of the Nightmare King and began to focus on the outline of Dreamscape.

Usually, when traversing through worlds, Leylin could only pa.s.sively rely on the abilities of his bloodline. The elusive s.h.i.+eld to Dreamscape had left him grasping straws on how it all worked

As for now, Dreamscape seemed to treat Leylin as its own child, unhesitatingly showing everything there was behind that mysterious veil.

“This affinity… I’d believe it if someone told me that the Nightmare Absorbing Physique is a reincarnation of part of the World Will of Dreamscape!”

Leylin’s eyes showed his shock as he saw the world in front of him that was seemingly boundless.

The place he was at seemed to be a crevice that had lost ma.s.s and s.p.a.ce. It seemed to be an intersection between a 2D s.p.a.ce and 3D World.

In front of him, an edge was like a monster as it unceasingly twisted, with countless dream planes with s.p.a.ce and time mixed within exhibited in front of him.

At the edges of Dreamscape, large amounts of little dreams kept birthing and then dying away.

In addition, there were many powerful dreams that intersected with each other, forming strange warped regions. The destruction and violence at the core was something even Leylin was afraid of

Most importantly, Leylin noticed that the entire Dreamscape was like a huge black hole, attracting bits of light to enter unceasingly.

Those were dreams from intellectual beings of all worlds being attracted by its might.

As long as they were capable of thought, all intelligent beings could have dreams. With dreams, they would unconsciously be attracted to Dreamscape!

Dreamscape was actually the combined body of most intellectual beings’ dreams. They were from all worlds, including the Magus World and World of G.o.ds!

“This means… that at the very beginning, there was no such thing as Dreamscape. However, with the advent of intelligent beings and taking in the dreams of powerful life forms, Dreamscape was formed?”

This possibility left Leylin speechless.

He suddenly recalled the World of G.o.ds. The situation was similar over there. There had not been any divine beings in the world, but with more faith, G.o.ds appeared!

“For this reason, Dreamscape is so strange, being powerful and weak at the same time.”

Leylin sensed that eh had somewhat grasped the key to the weakening of dreamforce.

“But I can’t conclude just like this. I’ll need to explore move around and see more… Whatever it is, I still have time, and I still need to farm my clone. I still have a thousand years for the Allsnake Contract…”

Crimson rays flashed, and Lelin broke through the boundary of Dreamscape and arrived in a true dream.

*Whoosh…*

Surging, howling Origin Force appeared around Leylin, like a kindly mother after seeing her son who had returned home, dead-tired after times of travelling. [Beep! Discovered large amounts of Dream Origin Force. To absorb?]

At this moment, the A.I. Chip prompted.

“No!” Leylin shook his head, dissipating the origin force around him.

Compared to the Magus World, the World Origin Force provided in Dreamscape was much more generous. Based on Leylin’s estimations, it was equal to what all the Magi of laws had access to altogether, which would be enough to raise him to the peak of what he could be now.

Unfortunately… Leylin did not have the courage to do that.

After all, before the flaws of dreamforce were dealt with, suddenly allowing Dreamscape’s Origin Force into the problem might cause great problems in the future.

“Dreamscape’s right here anyway. If I want to come over, I can just do it. I won’t be missing any chances…”

Having thought this through, Leylin did not lament at sending away the roaring World Origin Force and sized up his surroundings.

Desolate… bleak… a lack of life…

The plains, forests, valleys, lakes and streams from before had completely turned into a yellow desert. Even the air had little water content.

Leylin’s soul force spread far and wide. With his attainments as a rank 7 Warlock, he still could not only find the traces of a few life forms in the vast area.

It was as if the entire Dreamscape had died.

“No, death isn’t quite it. Perhaps a hibernation would describe this better.”

His powerful truesoul of laws and delicate control over soul force allowed Leylin to notice some differences.

Weak, tiny lives were hidden layers underneath the barrenness, like seeds germinating under the safe protection of the hard crust. This perfectly preserved their last chance at life, awaiting the arrival of spring.

A few regions with destructive snow floating down had several powerful and evil soul undulations that were hiding in wait at the centre.

These were the evil G.o.ds of Dreamscape, the Lords of Calamity, the existences of laws who chose to seal themselves while struggling at death’s door.

However, one would be making a huge mistake underestimating them. Any lord that sealed themselves definitely had contacts and could sense what was going on outside. The moment anything happened that went against their benefits or reputation, they could choose to unseal themselves.

While Dreamforce was weakened, the Origin Force in their bodies and the acc.u.mulation of soul energy in their bodies, and the advantage of being natives of Dreamscape allowed them to bring great devastation and death to invaders!

Before noticing this, there were many people seeking treasures while making use of dreamforce being in a weakened state, and had all died.

Of course, those seeking treasures had become much smarter. Leylin could not help but recall the one-eyed dragon race he had met before.

“Come to think of it, is this really the place where Gillian and her people once lived?”

With authority from his Nightmare Absorption Body, Leylin naturally chose an area in Dreamscape that he would be comfortable in.

However, as he gazed at the boundless barrenness, he could not help but look rueful. While knowing changes in the environment of Dreamscape happened quickly, he had not thought it would be so rapid.

In his discussions with the Snake Dowager, he had come over for a while. However, the environment had drastically changed, but the terrain was still somewhat similar. Hence, he had found the place where Gillian had stayed at.

But now?

All traces, particularly the terrain, had completely disappeared.

“The smells in the air tell me that it’s been about fifteen thousand years since I last came…”

Leylin’s nose twitched slightly as he sniffed at the air, and then came up with a conclusion unwillingly, “Looks like this place was unlucky enough to be affected by a terrifying wave of fast-forwarding time…”

“She did say she wanted to go to the territories of the Lord of Calamity in the north… I should take a look…”

Leylin stroked his chin.

The reason he had come to Dreamscape was mainly to solve the issue of the weakening of Dreamscape. Gillian was just something on the side.

After all, now that so much time had pa.s.sed, her great-grandchildren had all died of all age, and perhaps even her whole tribe had died out. That was very possible.

However, Leylin had a strange feeling that before the weakening of Dreamscape, the changes to her people might mean giving him a large batch of helpers and strength if he was in luck.

In Dreamscape, anything could happen!

“Also… this is just on the side. A.I. Chip!” Leylin commanded. [Beep! Mission established. Gathering Dreamscape Origin Force undulations… Current progress: 0.0001%. Estimated time of completion: 3987h 13min. If obtain samples of rank 7 lifeforms of Dreamscape, this can be quickened.]

The A.I. Chip faithfully intoned.

“As long as it’s in Dreamscape, the A.I. Chip’s simulated a.n.a.lysis can still continue… Now, let me see the Lords of Calamity in the north and see what secrets they have!”

Leylin’s body instantly turned into boundless darkness, sweeping towards the north. Two gusts of wind raced beside him, sounding powerful and terrifying.

The last time he was here, he had sensed the auras of numerous Lords of Calamity of the north, but he had been unwilling to become enemies with them. He was also more busy with the World of G.o.ds, which was why he had retreated first. However, things were different now.
