Chapter 132 The Beginning of Hunting

Chapter 132 The Beginning of Hunting

It was Parkland"s killer! Other than him, who else would write down such words? The ma.s.sacre of the Semitic tribe was a threat to Ling, but it also warned the other barbarian tribes in the Death Ridge against interfering in the war between him and Ling.

However, Ling had never expected that just by staying in the Semitic Clan for one night, he would bring about such a disaster to the clan.

The men who had been nailed to the stakes wore surprised expressions. However, the bullet holes on their foreheads fixed their expressions at the moment of their deaths. Perhaps they didn"t even know why they were ambushed till they died.

Ling looked at Gutner again. It seemed as if he could still hear the old man"s murmuring yesterday.

"All my life, I"ve been searching for the pure land in my heart. Now that I"ve found it, I would not leave!"

Ling"s hands had already clenched into a fist at some time. Monnie, who was standing beside him was shocked to discover that Ling"s entire body was emitting a high temperature. In fact, the mud beneath Ling"s feet became soft under the effect of the high temperature and sank down.

Ling seemed that he didn"t notice it.

Atessa knelt on the ground with two traces of tear stains on her face. The old home had been burned down. The familiar faces had became cold corpses, she s.h.i.+vered.

The teeth chattered in her mouth, and suddenly, with all the strength she could muster, she let out a shrill cry toward the sky.

The sound wave circles rolled away. Those who got in contact with it, whether they were mutated plants or beasts, subconsciously retreated far away.

Finally, she came to Gutner"s corpse. To her, Gutner, who had watched her grow up, was like an elder family member. She admired Gunter for his vast knowledge, and everything he did for the village earned him respect. Since childhood, she had been willing to become a personal bodyguard of the Prophet when she grew up.

But Gutner left her forever as her bar mitzvah was less than two months away.

For this old man, like her father and teacher, she would not tolerate any torture to him, let alone the brutal killing of him. In her heart, she swore by the Semitic tribe that no matter what was the price, she would kill the killer. Not only for Gutner, but for everyone in the village!

But before that, she had to keep their corpse so at least they would not be violated by the hungry mutated beasts.

She wiped away her tears and stood up. For a moment, the girl looked as if she had grown up for ten years. Her face with bloodshot eyes was filled with fort.i.tude and maturity.

She reached for the wood peg that nailed into Gunter"s body and tried to pull it out.

something. His expression changed and he disappeared. When he reappeared, he was already by Atessa"s side. Atessa was pressed down by Ling as she was taken aback by Ling"s appearance.

At the same time, the sound of Ling"s movement that was close to the speed of sound, as well as the sound of an explosion, simultaneously rang out.

In front of Ling"s broad chest, amid the swirling shreds of hair, she saw Gutner"s body explode. A huge shock wave blew the prophet"s upper body into smithereens. Blood and flesh danced in the air, blocking Atessa"s vision.

"No!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

The two of them fell to the ground, and at once Atessa broke off Ling. She ran to the corpse of Gutner which was only the lower half of his body, the girl sank to her knees. At this moment, Monnie cried out from behind her. Only then did she realize that if she hadn"t been pressed down by Ling, she would have been a corpse now.

She quickly looked towards Ling, who was lying on the ground, seemingly knocked out by the shock wave at close range. His back was covered in blood, and he looked badly hurt. She gathered herself and walked over, pulling away Monnie and took off Ling"s battle suit.

There were seven or eight fragments of hand grenades stuck into Ling"s back. It was obvious that the murderer had set up an ingenious trap. This trap should have been made for Ling, but it was unexpectedly triggered by her. However, in order to save her, Ling had fallen into the trap of the opponent.

It had to be said that the battle suit Ling had bought was indeed worth it. When he was bombed within a meter away from the explosion, the shrapnel from the grenade still couldn"t penetrate into his body.

The metal coils in the layers of the battle suit provided a certain buffer, so that the pieces were inserted only into the surface of the Ling"s muscle. These were small wounds. What made Atessa frown was that these few shrapnel were coated with a layer of blue liquid. If she remembered correctly, this thing should have been the Death Flower"s fluid which must be used to wipe the grenade"s surface.

The Death Flower, with its intense radiation, had penetrated into Ling"s back. There was already a faint blue color spreading near the wounds on Ling"s back, a sign of radiation infection and necrosis of the muscles. If not dealt with timely, Ling will soon die.

Then, to Monnie"s surprise, Atessa pulled out a crude blade tied to her thigh.

"What are you doing?" Monnie cried out and pulled out her own pistol and pointed it at Atessa.

"I"m trying to save him, don"t get in the way. Otherwise, don"t blame me if he dies!" The sharp blade in her hand struck down like lightning as she said in a haste.

Her skills was excellent, however. She managed to force the knife into one inch of Ling"s flesh, following the trail of muscle fibers along Ling"s back. Atessa was no less skillful than a surgeon, she used the homemade blade to remove the shrapnel from Ling"s body and to cleanse his necrotic muscles. Finally, she took some powder from her and sprinkled it over Ling"s wounds.

Monnie then took a bundle of sterile bandages from the kit Ling had prepared for her and bound Ling"s wound tightly with Atessa, so as to prevent a second infection. When this was done, Atessa moved Ling to a place which was not burned by the fire in the valley, and began to collect the corpses for her people.

She had done everything she could. As for whether Ling could survive the radiation, that would depend on his willpower.

At the same time,Ranger was lying flat on a raft, following the current.

The white-headed eagle had been following Ling and was waiting for an opportunity to make a move. However, Ling was highly alert. For several times, when he intended to snipe Ling,he was immediately detected by Ling. Nevertheless, Ranger was not discouraged. He knew from the start that it was not an easy task to snipe Ling as who was also a professional in the domain. But he was patient. He believed that as long as one was human, one would make mistakes. Furthermore, Ling did not have a heart of stone .

According to Ling"s past, Ranger was certain that under the indifferent surface, Ling had a warm heart. This could be seen in the late Leigh and all the other things that Ling had done. Ranger was convinced that Ling"s chivalry was in compatible with the cold new era, which would also be his fatal weakness.

In Ranger"s eyes, if it had been him who had clashed with Sauron that time. The White Eagle would not care about a woman"s life or death, but instead he would kill Sauron in the ruins by other means. However, Ling couldn"t. He even put himself in a disadvantageous position for a woman. To Ranger, this was an absolutely foolish act. However, the more stupid the opponent was, the higher the probability of Ranger"s success.

So Ranger successfully slaughtered the village today and set up a horizontal bomb inside Gutner"s body. He was convinced that, with Ling"s personality, Ling would put the old man down, even if he was already a corpse. What Ranger didn"t know was that Atessa had triggered the trap, but the result was not much far from Ranger"s expectation.

Still, Ling was injured, and it was hard to predict if he could survive.

As for Ranger himself, he slaughtered the village, set the fire, and designed a trap. All of this consumed a large amount of energy and stamina of him. For a short period of time, he was unable to conduct close stalking or sniping of Ling. So he built himself a raft and floated down the Ramason River, which ran half of the whole Death Ridge.
