Chapter 131: Let’s tell the world then

Lu Zhaoyang was feeling uneasy after receiving a call from Madam Xue, and Huo noticed it when she entered his office.
“What’s wrong?” Asked Huo, spinning his pen.
“Nothing.”
“Don’t tell dumb lies in front of me. Spit it.”
That was a blatant lie from Lu, as her face literally resembled the typical girl-in-misery expression from a romance genre.
I mean, if you don’t want me to bother your life so much, how about you learn how to keep that expression away from me?
“I was thinking how Huang Dong would spend the money if you sponsored him a billion,” said Lu, a random reason for her expression to dodge the bullet.
“Oh why? You want to join his wealthiness too?” Huo lifted his brows as the spinning pen promptly landed onto the table.
“O-of course not! You are way more worth than a billion,” replied Lu to quickly to save the fire.
Still…Was it Huo Yunting in mommy’s story? Or was she just poking things around to see?
What happened at the ballroom during Mayor’s birthday remained at the ballroom.
It’s not possible that people in Kyoto would know the story.
Lu was terrified by the idea of getting their relations.h.i.+p exposed to flas.h.i.+ng lights.
That was when Huo Yunting got up from his throne quietly. The sudden action caught Lu off guard as she backed a few steps away from his desk, “I’m not sure who told my mother this but she asked me if I have a boyfriend already.”
Huo continued walking towards her, with one hand in his pocket, exuding a wild insanity boiling in his ent.i.ty especially through his eyes. He was smiling hazily.
Huo lowered his back slightly, with one corner of his lips raised to the edge, “If she wants her daughter to be a wh.o.r.e and break into people’s relations.h.i.+p like her, she could just go get herself railed at the hotel. Seriously, why would such a senseless wh.o.r.e exist? When is she going to run a wh.o.r.e cla.s.s? Do you get a discount for that?”
“Can you stop doing this? I seriously have no idea what’s going on right now. I think my mother asks this without any ulterior motive. It’s only natural for her to show her care this way as she doesn’t know we are actually married.”
Lu was helpless. Huo Yunting always managed to say the most harmful words without even understanding the situation.
“I see…” Gradually he squinted his eyes, “Let’s tell the world then.”
Tell…the world?
“No. How about this? I’ll tell her on the phone that I’m not marrying anytime soon, not even dating and I have no interest, no time to invest in a relations.h.i.+p now,” said Lu as she quickly pulled her phone out of her purse, dialing.
“Let me tell her that.” Huo s.n.a.t.c.hed the phone away.
“Give me that!” She reached her hands out to retrieve her phone but Huo raised his arms up high like a basketball player on a teasing feint.
“I’ve told you. If she’s really that kind, she should be more than glad that you have engaged, regardless to whom you married. Given that, why can’t the husband be me?”
“…”
Lu tipped her toes, trying to get the phone back hard as she began leaping with the doc.u.ments in her embrace. The difference in height remained vast nonetheless. She could not even touch his wrist.
The folders fell all over the ground the moment she grabbed his arms like a monkey swinging.
She thought her weight would loosen his grip, yet it did not work. Huo was much stronger than she had imagined.
“If you want to test my stamina, darling, I suggest we test it on bed.”
He then tossed the phone from the left to the right. Lu was demotivated, she let go and sank to the floor.
“You told me that she’s just showing her care, she’s just showing her love. If that’s what she has been really showing, then she should be chuckling when she knew our families had connected much more than before.”
Lu stared at his signature smile that shone bright like a summer sun.
It was a puppet smile, never sincere, never body and soul sincere.

Oh no, it seems like he’s dead serious about it.
What should I do?
“Could you just pretend that all this never happened today? I knew you will get mad… I should have not told you all this…”
“What? You thought of hiding this from me?”
“I don’t get what you mean by ‘hiding’ when you know every bit of my private life.”
She was right. During day, she would be at the office. During nightfall she would be at home. It was only until recently she went out for a few trips with Lin Yazhi.
“I hardly know any bit of your private life,” said Huo grimly with his index finger impaled in the air.
For starters, your ex.
“I never hide anything from you!” Lu looked the same dead serious too when she shouted that, which somehow pleased Huo a little, changing his mind.
But wait, that’s not me if I don’t ask for some freebies from the deal.
Huo thought as he suddenly walked to her and closed his eyes with his head lowered, “Kiss me,” his lips grooving.
Lu’s face furrowed in full denial, with a grimace she was planning to shout a big “No” in his face but her eyes caught her mobile phone being brandished in his hands.
Huo, you rat! Will you stop threatening me?
But, it did not appear that Lu had a choice. The swing continued, the lips remained pursed. She eventually laid her pinky lips upon his, only to be seized. He made a turnabout, as he broke through the fortress once again, slipping his tongue into her mouth, sliding the phone into her pocket.
Lu finally felt relieved, as she had secured the trust of her man (and also her life), once again.
Before things got hot, contrary to tradition, Huo let go of her before she did.
It had already been way over the working hours.
And Lu just remembered the task of the day, as she clumsily picked up doc.u.ments scattered on the ground and shoved them to Huo in a messy stack.
“Sign them.”
“Negative,” muttered Huo as he lighted a cigarette lazily on his throne.
“Fine, Mr.Negative. If the authority hunted us down, I’ll be negative on my liability too, and the president shall take the responsibilities to be executed.”
I had enough with this man today. Like seriously, he has done too much. Could he be at least cooperative for once?
“Don’t worry, I’ll take it just fine. No one would dare to hunt us down.” He pa.s.sed her a glance, before blowing a column of smoke right in her face.
“Ugh!” Lu coughed as she fanned the smoke away and made a swift turn, running away like a terrified rabbit.
Huo sneered as he got up and tailed after her.
Lu darted towards the outside of the building, only to be welcomed by a Rolls-Royce parked by the road.
She turned away sharply and took her phone out to launch UBER. She would rather call for a ride and not to get abducted by one.
The Rolls-Royce, like Muspelheim, backed away rapidly, with a severe brake right in front of her. The window was wound down as soon as the door was opened.
“Get in,” invited Huo, like a devil, he hooked the air with his index finger.
Lu surrendered. She would not want actions any more drastic taken by Huo, as she squeezed herself into the car.
The car immediately zoomed away before she could fasten her seatbelt, as it zigzagged through the crowd on the road skilfully like a flying fish.
——
That night, Huo Yunting seemed to be fully engaged with books, burning the midnight oil at the study room.
Lu was feeling relieved of her freed crotch, she almost wanted to uncork a champagne to rejoice.
The night pa.s.sed smoothly. Everything was calm and peaceful, till the next morning… when she saw that gigantic bouquet of red roses on her table at the office. There were around 99 of them, it seemed? She went to have a closer look to find a tiny card in pale purple.
The office was filled with whispers from the girls as soon as they arrived when they checked out the lady of the show attentively.
Oh wow. The old spinster has her day!
“Yang!” Shouted Lin excitingly as she waddled to her, “Read the card! Read! The! Card! We need to know who sent it!”
Lu pulled the card out and skimmed through the writing, only to frown, very, very, very, dramatically.
It was the name she wanted to see the least on Earth.
Her face twitched, not noticing the man who drifted by the office.
Huo Yunting smiled mischievously.
It was getting interesting.
