“h.e.l.lO! I just came here! I’m not taking your accusation. Ugh! I can’t believe there’s someone who dared to steal targets from me. I’m so going to kill that person!” Yan Se marched towards Lu Bai, “What’s that in your hand?”
“Evidence.”
Yan Se then took a walk around the room, frowned as she spoke, “Lu Bai, honestly speaking, I can’t see you through. You don’t look like a bad guy at all. You don’t have the look of someone who would take over a terrorist group. A man like you might be better off as a kept man.”
“A ‘kept man’ huh?” Lu Bai’s raised his brows as his eyes went straight upon her, smiling naive like a child.
“Yeah, I mean, you’re armle-” Her hands were locked down before she could finish. Her entire body tumbled and fell upon Lu Bai.
That was how Lu Bai was caught by Yan Se at the cherry plantation that morning.
“Aren’t you a quick-learner?” Said Yan Se relaxingly, though her wrist ached.
“Tell me now. Where’s Ol’ Jiu?” Lu Bai’s tone was grim as he spoke. The smile was no longer found on his face.
Wen He was nowhere to be found and Ol’ Jiu disappeared. If that man was gone for good, his life would be peaceful once again.
Yan Se scowled as she gave a thought on the sequence of events.
Did Huo Li catch Chen Jiu before me? Wait, what? Why am I even here if that’s the case? Well, that’s one thing done.
“Have you learned how to negotiate with people? How would I ever confess if you never loosened the grip? It’ll be more efficient if you go get your cherries washed and made me some delicious food. Maybe I’ll tell you if your cake tastes good.” Her expression changed jolly as she beamed at the scroll on the floor, “You better calm down. We are on a one-on-one now if we fight and you’ll likely lose the fight.”
“Just tell me where the man is!” Lu Bai’s press became firmer as he panicked.
Yan Se hissed in pain, “You don’t even know how to be gentle with a beauty. I’m seriously worrying about your future.” The more he panicked, the more relaxed Yan Se was, knowing that her words worked.
Also knowing that Chen Jiu was caught away by someone else too.
Lu Bai was irritated by her att.i.tude as he dragged her to the sofa, pulled out a long rope along with a blanket from somewhere and wrapped both things around her, shoulder to toes. Yan Se, in a matter of a few minutes, had been mummified. She was going to compliment the young boy’s kind gesture, till she heard the deadly beep as Lu Bai turned off the air conditioner. Her jaws froze.
Soon her sweats crawled through her back. A very ticklish feeling yet she could only wriggle on the sofa helplessly as she watched the young boy walking towards her with a tray full of washed cherries. He sat down and started biting one cherry off the stalk after another.
Yan Se could hear her inner self shrieking.
“Who taught you all these? You ruthless boy! Is everybody else in your organization this heartless too?”
She was hot, wet, tired, hungry and it was totally unreasonable!
“Tell me where Ol’ Jiu is.” Lu Bai picked a cherry and brandished before her, “And I’ll reward you this.”
“Hmph, just one?”
Excuse me, do I look like I was born yesterday? One cherry and I’ll comply to your request? Hmph, if it’s really Huo Li who captured Chen Jiu, no way I could convince him to return the man.
“Fine.” He placed the cherry into his mouth and chewed, “Yum, yum, yum. So sweet.” He looked like he really enjoyed the cherry a lot and Yan Se’s face was coated with her cold sweat as she gulped, “You are evil, aren’t you? Then I shall never surrender…never…ever…ever…” Her words slowed down, her eyes still wandered upon those cherries.
“Sure, I salute thee. Keep up the good work,” added Lu Bai.
Yan Se gave in as she fell upon the sofa and closed her eyes in despair.
“Can you please turn on the air-con at least?”
