The girl in the mirror has brown eyes, tiny lips and long black hair. She is not breathtakingly beautiful, but is certainly a beauty if she dresses up. Poverty has left its mark on her as she looks a bit thin. Looking deep into that face in the mirror, she decided to claim her new ident.i.ty."Amy!" a voice of a woman called. Judging by her host"s memory, it must her mother. She opened the door of her room and walked out. Their house itself is a very small one with only four rooms. The side of the living room serves also as a kitchen. Another room is also divided into two to make some s.p.a.ce for her younger brothers. Amy herself got a small room, because her parents thought that as a woman she must need her privacy. Near her room is the bathroom.
Amy reached the kitchen to see a kind looking woman smiling at her. Her heart is suddenly filled with warmth and she is not able to control her tears.
Her mother, Regina, is startled to see the tears on her daughter"s face, as she knew that Amy is a woman with a strong heart. Even when her father"s business had collapsed, she remained strong. To her mother, Amy is the emotional support of her family. She hugged her daughter. "Don"t worry about not getting a job. Even if we have to work hard, we will provide for the family," she said.
Amy understood that her mother of this life has mistaken the reason for her tears. But she has decided to keep it like that. While she is thinking like this, a man walked behind her and patted her head. Amy turned and found her father smiling at her. In a low voice he said: "We are always with you."
Amy smiled. She is happy and in her heart she has decided that she"ll do anything to make this family happy. With this pleasent mood, her mother has started arranging the table for breakfast. Their breakfast is a simple congee, but nevertheless Amy felt happy looking at that.
Her mother again shouted in a high voice to call her brothers, as it is time for them to go for their school. Both of her brothers are in highschool. Her first younger brother, Aran, is in 12th grade, while the other, Alan, is in 10th grade. Though her parents are poor, when it comes to education they have done their best to them. Amy has finished her business management studies at college and is searching for job.
Suddenly she heard a sound of footsteps behind her, and there she saw her two brothers. Both of them have black hair and brown eyes. As soon as they looked at her, they smiled brightly. Amy sighed and thought: "We really are a family."
