“Well? What really happened?” (Kaori)

Kaori demanded, while I was playing a game on my phone with a serious expression once we arrived in her room.

“Huh? What do you mean?” (Kei)

It was nice to come home without stopping, but I ate dinner over at Kaori’s on the weekends.

Shiori had somewhat aggressively invited me, and I had no way to refuse, not that I had a problem with it considering she was a good cook and I could save money on food.

I thought it would be nice to have Shiori teach me to cook, while I tried to ignore what Kaori had asked me, but as usual, she was rather pushy.

“Don’t try to bulls.h.i.t me. Something really happened, didn’t it?” (Kaori)

Kaori persisted while looking anxiously at me as I involuntarily looked up from my phone to Kaori and furtively scratched my cheek.

“Well, nothing happened.” (Kei)

I said, lying to Kaori. Well, of course she’d be suspicious. I knew it wouldn’t work and I couldn’t play this off as a misunderstanding.

I’ve been in this situation with Kaori many times before.Lies rarely ever get past her.

“Hmm?” (Kaori)

Kaori intoned, her eyes narrowing with suspicion, while I nervously looked at my phone without saying anything.

I played with my phone, trying to act innocent, but I was so nervous I could hardly keep from glancing at Kaori guiltily.

“Don’t lie to me! Something happened! So, tell me!” (Kaori)

Kaori demanded angrily. I should have known it was impossible from the beginning.

I fearfully continued to act as if I was playing a game on my phone, but I couldn’t concentrate enough to make it believable.

“Umm…” (Kei)

I wished I could fool her, but as usual, she was really sharp at times like this.

Kaori was always persistent like this.

I tried to remember a time when I lied and Kaori didn’t found out. Honestly, I couldn’t think of a single time.

“Come on! Tell me!” (Kaori)

I had felt like she was worried about me, but now, she’s become belligerent.

“Well, I guess I have no choice.” (Kei)

I said weakly and sighed, giving in to the inevitable.

“Well, then what happened?” (Kaori)

Kaori said as she moved closer to me with a smug expression.

“It’s the same thing as I told you at school.” (Kei)

I admitted to Kaori in a light tone, as if to say what had happened really didn’t matter, and looked back at my phone.

“Eh?” (Kaori)

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kaori’s eyebrows wrinkle as she tried to remember exactly what I said had happened at school.

“Well, some of the girls from PE cla.s.s apparently liked me when I was a man.” (Kei)

I said and looked at Kaori, who stared at me in wide eyed shock.

Well, I guess I should explain that it boiled down to making a ‘friend’ because she was a girl after all.

“What?” (Kaori)

Kaori’s “What?” sounded as if she was confused.

“So someone likes Kei. I was curious.” (Kaori)

What is this? I thought she was worried about me. I had told you the truth because you were so persistent but only ended up more confused.

Kaori’s face turned blue, as she seemed to recall something.

“Hey! Speaking of which, at school, didn’t you say that you were stripped naked!?” (Kaori)

Just when I thought Kaori was going to grab me by the shoulders, she gently touched my cheeks as if checking for something.

“Stop it! That tickles!” (Kei)

I tried to push away from Kaori, but unfortunately, my arms were too short to reach her shoulders, so her hands remained on my cheeks.

Finally, she seemed to realize what she was doing. She took her hands off my cheeks and stepped back, blushing furiously.

“Well alright, but are you really okay?” (Kaori)

“I’m fine. I told you it was nothing. Plus the ones that did it were also girls.” (Kei)

Well, at least nothing can ‘happen’ by mistake.

(TN: Kei had best think a little harder about that.)

Well, of course, that isn’t the whole story of when I was stripped, but it wasn’t a problem because I didn’t care about myself. Yes, that was right. I didn’t care.

“Is… Umm… Is that true?” (Kaori)

Kaori was acting really fl.u.s.tered.

Maybe she had eaten something strange?

Although, I might have been the one that ate something strange. I was feeling a little tired all day.

“Honest? Are you sure you’re okay?” (Kaori)

Kaori asked, looking at me rather anxiously. I thought I’d convinced her for a moment.

“Really Kaori, I’m fine.” (Kei)

“If you’re sure...” (Kaori)

Kaori said seeming to accept my statement, although she still giving me worried glances.

Hmm. I wished you’d calm down.

That said I still appreciated her concern for me.

“Dinner is ready!” (Shiori)

Shiori announced loudly from downstairs.

“We’ll be right down!” (Kaori)

Kaori yelled back, standing quickly, seemingly in a better mood.

“I"m hungry, let’s go.” (Kaori)

“Umm, right.” (Kei)

I wasn’t really all that hungry, but I had no choice but to eat with everyone, so I stood up to go to the dining room and put my phone in my pocket.

I was heading downstairs with Kaori while holding my stomach, which had started to feel quite uncomfortable under my hand.
