OK, this should do it.
I’m adjusting my clothes in front of the mirror.
OK. My clothes are perfect.
Oh, of course, I’m still a girl.
I’m still short and cute.
I’ve never worn accessories until now, but it’s another matter now that I’m a girl.
Although, personally I don’t want to be praised, isn’t it a waste not to wear accessories since I am so cute? Oh yes, isn’t it like dressing up an avatar?
Today is the opening ceremony for school, so I’m dressed conservatively.
It’s long pants rather than a skirt that I borrowed from Kaori. Are these called chino pants?
I’m wearing long-sleeved blouse topped with a light coat. It’s early spring and still cold today. Really, to be honest, it feels colder than before.
Your wallet would be quite a bit lighter if you bought just this. Although, it’s enough to say that.
However….
“My hair is a mess.” (Kei)
I put my hands on my hair and pretend not to see it. I tried to do something to comb it out with my fingers, but it tangled up almost at once.
It’s all tangled because I slept on it.
I towel dried it after my shower and fell asleep with it still damp. Is a hair dryer necessary? Do I own one?
I didn’t have a comb in my house. I never needed one; I had short hair as a guy. I didn’t have time to buy anything else yesterday.
“No way. Do I just go like this?” (Kei)
I grab my school bag.
This bag isn’t suitable for my present self. I place a black shoulder bag on my shoulder.
A bag without textbooks is light.
“Let’s go.” (Kei)
As usual, I’m alone.
I wear the ankle boots I just bought yesterday. I bought several different types of shoes, but high heels were not good and that made it easy to choose. Maybe you can walk in high heels, but it’s impossible for me.
The nearest station is only 7 minutes away, so I still have plenty of time
I go through the residential area out to the main street. Luckily, I didn’t get caught by the signal.
The station came into view. I should arrive without meeting anyone familiar, unless it’s Kaori.
As I walk to the gate and the train is pulling up to the platform.
“What?!”
I run down the stairs, while taking out my smartphone.
I should have had time to spare! Had the train been delayed?
I barely caught the train, but there was no broadcast about a delay.
Looking at the time on my phone, this is the normal departure time of the train.
“It’s dangerous if you get caught by the door signal.” (Kei)
It has to be because I’m shorter, so my stride decreased as well.
Well, let’s increase the time I allot myself by half again.
Now is not the time to barely make it for the train’s departure.
The train going to school was empty, so I’m saved. If it were crowded, I wouldn’t have had a place to sit.
The school is one station farther along than the mall I went to yesterday. People who seem to be students get on the train there. Most of them are in private clothes, so it is difficult to tell whether they are high school students simply by looking at them.
Next stop, the schools station.
I got off the train and pa.s.sed through the gate. I found the back of a familiar head walking in front of me. Its Kaori, apparently she was on the same train.
“Good morning Kaori.” (Kei)
I say, as I tapped her shoulder. Kaori stops and looks at me.
“Hmm?” (Kaori)
I stopped as well, while people continue to pa.s.s around us.
“Your hair looks like it exploded.” (Kaori)
She said, while her shoulders shook with laughter.
I couldn’t help it, but my hairstyle makes me want to vomit.
“It was like this when I woke up.” (Kei)
Kaori tried to straighten out my messy hair with her hand.
“I’ll fix it for you after school.” (Kaori)
She gave up quickly.
“Thank you.” (Kei)
The two of us then head to school together.
“Did you use a hair dryer?” (Kaori)
“I don’t have one.” (Kei)
“Huh?!” (Kaori)
“Naturally, I don’t have a comb either.” (Kei)
“Don’t say that with a smug look!” (Kaori)
Kaori says forcefully and then sighs weakly.
“Ummm, it’s like this, yesterday was awesome.” (Kei)
I say while trying to smooth my hair.
“I took a bath yesterday.” (Kei)
“That’s expected, don’t you think? Don’t be obnoxious.” (Kaori)
“How did you wash your hair?” (Kaori)
“How did… normally with shampoo.” (Kei)
What? Is there a specific way to wash your hair?
I have a bad feeling; the likelihood of me being hit is going up, as Kaori gets angrier.
“Then after that?” (Kaori)
“After that?” (Kei)
“Conditioner or treatment?” (Kaori)
“I don’t have those things.” (Kei)
“Don’t be stupid! Have some sense! We are going shopping today!” Kaori)
Kaori exploded on the road in front of the school.
