"Something is wrong with your stronghold… The core system keeps spamming some sorts of notifications…"Instead of my vision returning, the first thing I experienced during my travel through the darkness occasionally enriched by a single look at my own perception instead of using Bonger to observe the world around me. wasn"t the sandy beach of the new island with various colours of nature and settlements filling the view, but the voice of a Bonger.
To make things worse, he was clearly distressed!
*Speak to me! What sort of notifications? What"s going on?*
With no other sensory feelings, Bonger"s voice was the only thing that lighted this dark world around me, but with how pressing the issue was, I couldn"t help but feel worried! Flying through the air in an unknown direction, over the seas I never visited before, with my entire body set on going on a rampage as soon as it sees any target, and now I learned something wrong was going on with my stronghold?
Just how much those d.a.m.ned coincidences can stack!
"From what I see, the number of inhabitants, or rather, the amount of the energy stored by the core is reaching the limit. At first, it was just a slight warning, but since more and more people keep coming inside, it"s now in a critical phase!"
Well, that was worrying. Not because I really cared about the majority of the people present there, but because if something happened to the stronghold, it would endanger Eve! But there wasn"t really anything I could do about it at this moment! Even if I pushed the burden of the system back on bonger, I had no idea how long it would take me to get back to the stronghold to fix whatever was causing the problem! My best bet was to stay tuned, upgrade the system as soon as I can and get back as soon as it would be possible for me!
*Is there anything you… we can do? What"s the status of my tower?*
Unable to do anything at this moment, I could only hope that Bonger would somehow come up with some ideas.
"For now, the alerts are only increasing in number… No, wait! Now there is a counter!"
Wait, counter? What the h.e.l.l, does a f.u.c.king shop table appeared there, or was it now counting something? Counting up the number of people that were over the limit? Counting down the people that upon reaching zero would cause the entire place to collapse?
*Bonger, for f.u.c.k sake, can"t you be even a bit more precise?*
"I"m sorry… It started from one hundred and is going down. Currently at twenty-three… Nineteen… Eleven… Seven… Three… Wait, what the f.u.c.k?!"
*Bonger? What the h.e.l.l happened? Bonger! SPEAK TO ME!*
Before I managed to receive any sort of response, my already dark word exploded with a pleiade of lights, with a powerful voice announcing that:
"System upgrade will now begin!"
Just like all the lights suddenly erupted in front of my eyes, everything turned dark once again as my consciousness faded away.
*****
The first thing I felt when I came back to my senses, Was a soft, warm breeze caressing the skin of my face. Considering how I was just flying through the air, being able to enjoy a soft touch of a moisty wind had to mean I was already on either the ground or in the sea!
But I lacked the feeling of water surrounding either my entire body or leaving only my head alone in case I somehow managed to float on top of the water. And that could only mean one thing.
I somehow ended up on dry land!
Even though it sounded nice, in reality, it meant a huge number of potential troubles! With how I was going to visit the island from where Overlord"s reinforcements came in the first place, landing there was aking to stepping inside a lion"s cage! Additionally, if I somehow ended up on a completely different island, I would have no way to navigate my way back to my own island, with how I had no idea where I was compared to its location!
"Is he awake?"
While I tried my best to maintain my position for as long as it would take me to a.s.sess my situation, I guess my excitement and worry ended up making me flinch and notifying the nearby people. Once again, this was just as good as it could be bad. For once, I would have any way to somehow calculate where I was and where I should swim to get back to my stronghold…
Right! What happened to it!
*Bonger, are you here?*
"Yeah, sorry for that. I woke up just as you did, and I was kinda busy exploring my new abilities…"
*Wait, abilities, what do you have in mind? Or actually forget it. Can you check what happened to the tower? On the other hand, I will try to gauge our situation…*
With my newly found resolve, I slowly opened my eyes, only to be met with the sigh of two, lovely mounds, of a slightly brownish colour. At the same time as I opened my eyes, I could feel a soft finger touching my exposed chest, as if someone was tracing down the lines of my muscles.
What the h.e.l.l was this situation?
"Excuse me?"
As soon as I said those words, the set of the nicely tanned upper body of some kind of girl jiggled upwards, as she jumped away from me in a scare. With my vision now freed, I could see a blue sky above me, with some kinds of birds dancing gracefully in the air.
Moving my body up, I realised that I was on the sh.o.r.e, barely a fewteen meters away from the line of water. Looking around, I saw some kinds of leaves under my body, as if someone made a sleeping place just for me!
With this notion in my head, I turned around, only to see a group of young people, only dressed with some sort of skin around their hips. While I could only use the b.r.e.a.s.t.s as the reference, from the looks of things, the girl was having fun around my chest was still there, flas.h.i.+ng her delicious looking upper body as if it was the most natural thing in the world!
"Erm… Where I am?"
With no better way to start the conversation, I scratched my head and looked at the group of half-naked younglings, keeping themselves together, as if I was the scariest thing they saw in their life.
