After taking the decision to leave this city and not risk breaking this barrier or something, I waited patiently for the patrolling cultivators to give up and move to the other area. I even forced myself to stay a little longer after they disappeared completely from my view, to make sure they wouldn"t suddenly turn to double-check.
After waiting for a long enough, I pushed aside the rummage that enclosed my former hideout and steeped on the street. I had to be thankful for the patrol for not picking up the few interesting thingies that were lying around right on the ground, but I could only guess that for pinnacle experts of spirit cultivation realm, these bits were not valuable enough to bend their backs in order to grab them.
Since I knew about the seals placed all around the place, I could only retrace my steps back to one of the buildings I visited, while making sure that I would not stumble upon the patrolling guys.
My greatest hope was that they would rush to the hotel, alarmed by the fire that may still be ravaging the upper floors, but it was just a random guess since the blaze could very well die out as soon as I left and stopped paying any attention to the building.
Moving carefully through the rummaged streets, I finally reached the building from where I procured the d.i.l.d.os of mine. While I wanted to rush right away inside and get the h.e.l.l out of this place, I held back myself for long enough to properly scan the place for any aura signatures that I couldn"t recognise.
Since I was unable to find anything extraordinary, I moved inside, tightened the knot of the backpack to make sure that it would be recognised as a part of my clothing and prepared for the jump.
Bonger, can you open unstable teleportation back to the island?
"Blop!"
"Recalling previous inquiries about the creation of stable teleportation window, is host no longer interested in anchoring the place?"
Nah, I"m good. I don"t think any good will come out of visiting this place anymore.
"Blop!"
"... tsk …"
"Preparing the teleportation!"
Noticing the familiar bending on the s.p.a.ce, I chose to ignore the strange reaction of bonger in order of researching how the h.e.l.l was it capable of teleporting me around without any visible effort!
If that was something that I could do myself, I could very well learn the mechanism behind it and use them to deepen my own understanding of the magic! Who knows, maybe I would even be able to uncover the secrets of entropy with it!
Crack!
Too focused on observing the spatial turbulences appearing as the teleportation window was forming, I failed to notice at which point something went wrong.
With the ripples of s.p.a.ce suddenly collapsing back to their natural state, the teleportation window that was already halfway formed suddenly diffused into the air, replaced by the sight of the further part of the corridor I was in.
"Look who we have here! I didn"t expect the silent alarm to work so well!"
As I turned around, I realised how bad the situation was. I didn"t even notice when the front half of the building elevation was torn off, leaving me out in the open. Everywhere around, I could see countless experts no weaker than the duo I spotted before, with their weapons already unsheathed.
This is bad.
While my I could easily dispose of two or three of them, if they were to gang up on me like that, I doubted my control spells would be stable enough to keep them at bay!
"Who the f.u.c.k are you and what do you want from me?"
With my robes being as torn as they were after all the fighting I have done both in this city a few days prior and on the island, there was no way for me to cover my face or body in advance to at least confuse them whether they got the right target.
If they came for me, they had to be prepared!
"What a silly question! Kill him!"
Not bothering to answer, one of the men pointed at me, causing at least ten of the experts to dash towards me with the edges of their weapons reflecting the spa.r.s.e sunlight that this city was graced with.
First, two of the men pushed their spears at me.
I wasn"t so stupid to just wait for them to attack me. Before the enemy even gave the order to engage, I was already casting as many barriers as I could, not daring to spare entire second of my time to cast weak barrier while risking the failure of its cast!
CLAs.h.!.+
The strength of those people was just a bit lower than the aura that this aquatic beast gave.
Instantly pushed back, I could only thank G.o.d that the barriers managed to hold the attack back, giving me an opportunity to strike back.
I didn"t fight the momentum forced on me by the thrust of the spears. Instead of this, I left a small string of concentrated entropy aimed at the bodies of my opponents but didn"t let it free.
Even the slightest moment that this energy was left alone in the world caused the cracking of s.p.a.ce!
When I was pushed back, I made sure to pull on the closer end of this strand, while keeping the other end in place. As soon as I was pushed just a meter behind, those two cultivators clashed against the weak mana coating the stable end of the entropy, destroying the only force that was keeping it together!
As if graced with some sort of consciousness, the entropy instantly pulled itself together, from the extended end all the way to the part clas.h.i.+ng with the bodies of my opponents!
While I gained enough distance to recover my stance, my first two victims were already falling to the ground, with their bodies convulsing as if they got an epilepsy attack!
But even if successful, this attack could only work with surprise!
It was time to bring out the big guns!
