The sword glowed slightly, before the spirit left the sword, appearing in front of me.

"Don"t worry, no one except you can see or hear me. If you talk out loud now as well, no one will be able to hear you as well, so you don"t have to worry about looking crazy."

"How can you do that? I get you are a spirit, but how can you make people not be able to hear me?"

"Well it is a kind of magic only usable by spirits. I know you want to know everything you can about me, but you can"t, at least not everything. As I said earlier, my power is contained behind seals. There are five of them in total. Depending on which seal you unlock my appearance will change."

"So is that why, when I stopped channeling mana into you and your seals, your appearance changed back to as it is now. I guess that makes sense, but how do I break the seals?"

"What sort of sword has its power sealed in the first place, what kind of idiot would seal the sword"s power. It doesn"t make sense at all. I wonder what seal the black sword is then."

"In my black form, that is the form I take after the third seal is broken. It has been a long time, since all of my seals have been broken." The spirit seemed nostalgic.

"Anyway, the way to break each seal is different. The first just requires a certain amount of mana, which once you get to the condensing stage you will be able to do. The second needs your bloodline to be awakened up to the fifth awakening. The third seal needs you to have seen your soul and after that I can not tell you yet."

"What is the condensing stage and what do you mean by seeing your soul? I have never heard of that before."

"They relate to certain stages as the mana path and the soul path. The other path is the Qi path. A dragon lord is someone who uses all three of these paths. You will be able to find out more about the paths as you progress. For now I would suggest becoming a member of a mage tower so you can work on the mana path. The other path"s as far as I know have been lost. Maybe the elves now on the soul path, but I can"t be sure?"

Someone entered the tent I was in, when I looked back after seeing it was only a doctor, the spirit had left and was back inside of the sword.

"Damm, where did you go? I thought you said that no one can see you?"

"It is fine, I have told you most of what I can anyway. You have to meet the duke right? It will be more interesting than talking to me. Plus, keeping an important n.o.ble and your commanding officer waiting is never a good idea. I need to rest. Appearing in front of you, used more energy than I thought."

"What does it mean by energy? It has never mentioned that before. Damm spirit, as usually it is not telling me everything. Anyway I wonder what the duke is like?"

Getting out of the bed, with the doctor"s help. I am able to stand on my own.

"It seems like you are fine. Normally, I would have you stay here for longer but we need as many beds available as we can here. There are too many wounded soldiers coming in from the front line. It would be good if everyone learned a basic healing spell."

The doctor started to talk more to himself at that point. He was going on and on about how the medical staff were always over worked when a ma.s.sive battle happened as no one apart from them knew any healing magic or basic medical skills. It seemed like from what he was saying, it was a really major problem.

Then some servant walked in and handed me clothes to put on.

She said, "You will need these if you are going to be meeting the duke. My master, Erebus says he will see you in the duke"s tent."

The clothes the servant pa.s.sed me were one of the sets I bought when I went shopping with uncle Paul. It was a one made of a black colored silk, with a white dragon on it. It felt so nice to wear when compared to the armour, I have had to wear recently.

Once I had the clothes on. I left the tent, once outside, I could hear the loud noise of the camp. Lots of people talking and the sound of footsteps and drums. I could also just hear the sound of the battle.

"I wonder how, when I was inside the tent I wasn"t able to hear any of this."

"There was probably some kind of sound cancelling rune inscribed onto the tent somewhere." The spirit must have recovered its energy that it spoke of, due to the fact that it was talking again and I could just feel another presence in mind.

The servant who handed me the clothes was standing outside of the tent. Seemingly waiting for me. She was in all black, but compared to my loose clothing, here"s fit her body tightly, allowing her to show off her curves and all of her a.s.sets.

"Follow me, my master said, that you are important and that I should treat you well. Honestly, I do not see how at all."

I just smiled at the servant girls, little remarks. Finding them slightly funny as well. She led me through the camp. There were hundreds of different banners around. Some I recognised, some I didn"t recognise at all.

Seeing me looking around at all of the different banners, the servant girl started to speak again. "While you were out, the kings and the rest of the va.s.sals arrived with their troops. Then this morning, the other kingdom"s troops arrived. This is why there are so many banners now."

"The other kingdom has sent its troops?"

"Yes, all of them, except the empire. It was a shock for all of us here, when they marched in earlier. I thought some fights would break out. Lucky they didn"t. Any way we are here."

The dukes tent was bigger than all of the other tents around it. As well as having a ma.s.sive empty s.p.a.ce outside of the front of the tent, which could be used for a range of things. There was also two banners outside. One was the duke"s own banner. The red dragon with swords on a black background. There was also the kingdom"s banner. Which was just an ordinary looking sword, on a white banner. The tent itself was black.

As I arrived outside the tent flap. I heard someone inside announce my arrival.

Then a rough voice said, "Enter."
