Chapter 1261: She Died for You
There was no way he would ever mistake her voice. It was Tang Mo’er!
He thought that she had left, that she didn’t want him anymore.
It turned out she had never left.
She hadn’t forsaken him.
She hadn’t abandoned him.
The darkness over his face lifted as his thin lips curved upwards into a gentle smile. He wanted to speak.
At this moment, he heard someone shout, “Yeming, remember, Elder Sis will always love you!”
He felt himself being pushed forward as Tang Mo’er rushed up behind him and pushed him away. It was as if things were moving in slow motion, yet speeding up all around him at the same time.
Bang! The car crashed straight into her and all that he could hear was an endless ringing that didn’t stop.
He looked back. The car had crashed straight into Tang Mo’er and sc.r.a.ped across the guardrails, leaving scorch marks all over it. The guardrails were broken apart as the car drove straight into the ocean with Mo’er against it.
A cold breeze blew past him. All that was left of her was a pink skirt. Sound seemed to come back in a rush as his senses were a.s.saulted from all ends, but he couldn’t hear anything at all.
“There’s been an accident!”
“Someone call 110!”
“She fell in as well! There’s no one here!”
The entire street was in chaos. People were buzzing away. Lu Yeming had no idea what they were saying.
All he could hear was that gentle voice in his ear.
—-Yeming.
—-Elder Sis will always love you.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to scream more than anything. But the word ‘Sis’ was caught in his throat, as though someone had impaled it there and he couldn’t pull it out.
It hurt.
The pain engulfed him, threatening to break him apart. He lifted his legs and forced himself forward. There was a metallic taste in his mouth, and a streak of blood flowed down the corners of his lips.
He left a trail of blood behind as he walked forward.
Everything will be fine, Elder Sis. Don’t be afraid.
I’m here.
Yeming is coming over right now.
Lu Yeming ran over to the ocean and prepared to jump in.
“Master!”
Fan Men ran over and struck Lu Yeming behind his neck. Darkness took over as Lu Yeming closed his eyes and fainted.
…
Gu Mohan had rushed back to the Capital. As he got into the Rolls Royce, Yan Dong asked him respectfully, “President, are we going to fetch the Young Master?”
“Yes.” Gu Mohan nodded. He stepped on the accelerator and the car sped away.
In the car, Gu Mohan leaned lazily against the back seat and shut his eyes.
He fell asleep and had a dream.
He dreamt of Tang Mo’er. She jumped into his arms with a pink dress on and wrapped her hands around his waist, calling him sweetly. “Hubby.”
He stroked her hair gently. “What’s wrong?”
“I miss you Hubby… I can’t bear to leave you, so I decided to come to have a look.” She smiled at him happily as she spoke. She was so beautiful.
Gu Mohan’s lips curved upwards. He wanted to wrap her tightly in his arms.
But all he held was cold air.
Tang Mo’er was gone.
Jerking awake immediately, Gu Mohan was covered in a cold sweat.
“President, what’s wrong?” Yan Dong asked concernedly from the driver’s seat.
Gu Mohan frowned. He was extremely awake now, but her voice still rang in his ear — I couldn’t bear to leave you, so I came to take a look.
Alarm bells were ringing in his head. He hadn’t felt so anxious in a long time. Gu Mohan took his phone out and dialed that familiar number.
His call was soon connected.
“h.e.l.lo, Mo’er.”
“I’m sorry, the caller is currently unavailable.” He was greeted by a cold and robotic female voice.
Gu Mohan’s brow furrowed as three lines formed between them.
It was at this moment, Yan Dong’s phone rang. He picked up the call. In the next second, the Rolls Royce screeched as it came to a sudden halt.
Yan Dong turned around to look at Gu Mohan. “P-President…”
Gu Mohan lifted his eyes from the phone and looked slowly at Yan Dong. Looking at his terrified expression, his heart fell to the pit of his stomach.
“Has something happened to Mo’er?” he asked harshly.
Yan Dong nodded sadly, his voice choked up. “President, Miss… she…”
…
—-Yeming.
—-Yeming.
Lu Yeming heard a gentle and familiar voice calling him. He moved his lips, wanting to say something, but his throat was parched, as though someone was preventing him from speaking.
Mo’er!
He opened his eyes slowly.
The first thing that entered his sight was a chandelier. He was in his room and had been out for three days.
“Master, do you want some water?” Fan Men brought the cup of water over.
Lu Yeming sat up, his chilly eyes were completely devoid of any warmth. He swiped the cup from Fan Men’s hand and it landed on the carpet.
Fan Men’s expression changed as he quickly knelt down and apologized. “I’m sorry Master. It was my fault, please punish me.”
After all, he was the one who had knocked Master out.
Lu Yeming glared at Fan Men coldly, then ripped the blankets off him and got out of bed. But pain pierced through his heart. There was a metallic taste in his throat.
When he lifted his hand to wipe his lips and saw that it was stained with blood.
“Master, the doctor said that you’ve been vomiting blood due to the pain of losing your sister. Please take care of yourself and take your time to recover.”
Vomiting blood?
Lu Yeming looked at his bloodstained palms and shut his eyes.
“Master, you’ve been out for three days. We haven’t stopped searching the waters. We found the car with the driver dead inside but… we couldn’t find Elder Miss.”
“The waters are moving upwards, but Elder Miss could have been washed downwards by the fierce waters…”
Before Fan Men could finish his sentence, Lu Yeming suddenly got up. He was in a thin v-neck knitted sweater. His face was pale and his heart hurt so much that he was panting in pain. He couldn’t stay here.
He needed to get out.
Lifting his feet, he wanted to walk.
But in the next second, Lu Yeming stopped.
There was another person in the room. Gu Mohan.
Gu Mohan had been sitting on the sofa all this time. It was dark where he was sitting and his face was half in the shadows. Yeming had no idea how long he had been quietly sitting there. His aura was so oppressive it was hard to breathe.
Lu Yeming found that he couldn’t take another step.
At this moment, Gu Mohan got up and walked towards him. Gu Mohan rolled his sleeves up slowly and his st.u.r.dy fist landed straight on Lu Yeming’s handsome face.
Bam! Lu Yeming neither dodged nor returned the blow. He allowed himself to be hit as he collapsed against the carpet.
“President Gu!” Fan Men yelled out.
Gu Mohan bent down and grabbed Lu Yeming’s collar, wanting to hit him again.
At this moment, the room door opened and a slim figure ran in. Jun Xiqing held Gu Mohan’s hand gently and said, “President Gu, don’t hit him anymore. Elder Sister Mo’er loved the two of you the most.”
Gu Mohan’s eyes were red and Lu Yeming was none the better. His blood was all over the carpet.
“Lu Yeming, I won’t hit you anymore. Your sister exchanged her life for yours and she’ll be upset if I hit you. But remember this. Your sister spilled her own blood for you on your road to being Emperor, so don’t you dare let her down. Take up the Murong name and rule over the world.”
With that, Gu Mohan pushed Lu Yeming away roughly, turned his back and left.
…
Gu Mohan had left and was about to vanish into the dark night. Following behind, Fan Men slowly retreated and only Jun Xiqing and Lu Yeming were left in the room.
Jun Xiqing offered her small hand to him and said, “Get up.”
Fine hair covered his red eyes as he pushed her hand away and got up by himself.
