Jun Mosheng’s gaze riveted on Tang Chenyi, that was his first time meeting him. It was said that this child wasn’t able to talk.
Jun Mosheng heart ached, he felt guilty and bad for him. This child’s destiny shouldn’t have ended up like this.
It was all because of the complicated relations.h.i.+ps and feuds from the past generation that spilled over to implicate them.
Lu Jinwen looked at Jun Mosheng coldly. “I didn’t want to harm this child either, or rather, I wouldn’t have harmed him and so you’d better back off. Young Master Jun, you have a good understanding of me and you probably know that rather than seeing your family of three unite, I would much rather ruin you all right now.”
Family of three…
Jun Mosheng, Lin Xuanji and also Tang Chenyi.
Lu Jinwen had always a.s.sumed that they were a family.
Jun Mosheng didn’t utter a word. “Fine, we can back off. However, Young Master Lu, I’ll never allow you to leave. You’ll never be able to bring Xuanji out of Miaojiang.”
Lu Jinwen scoffed derisively at him in response.
Tang Mo’er then walked in front, examining Tang Chenyi all over carefully. “Chenyi, are you alright?”
Tang Mo’er would never have expected Tang Chenyi to have biological ties with her. He was indeed her younger brother. Tang Hai had once told her that they were biological siblings, it seems like Tang Hai knew the whole truth.
Noticing that it was Tang Mo’er in front of him, Tang Chenyi’s gaze turned gentle, however, he wasn’t able to utter a word.
“Let’s go.” Lu Jinwen carried Lin Xuanji in his arms and left.
…
There were a few bamboo houses around the Pa.s.sion River and Butler Ye had purchased all of them. Lu Jinwen had brought Lin Xuanji there.
Although Jun Mosheng and Gu Mohan had backed off, their men had already surrounded the region and Lu Jinwen still wasn’t able to leave the place.
The atmosphere was still stifling and oppressive although they were at a truce.
But Lu Jinwen wasn’t bothered at the least, it was a minor issue in his eyes. The matter of utmost importance was to get Xuanji to regain consciousness, he would have to make use of Tang Chenyi to do that.
It was almost time for Lin Xuanji to regain her consciousness after blocking herself from the world.
He would never allow her to continue being unconscious. He had waited for so many years, but he no longer wanted to continue waiting, even if it was for a single second.
In the bamboo house, Lin Xuanji lay on the bed while Tang Chenyi stood beside her bed. His long lashes were lowered as he looked at the woman on the bed. He continued to just stand there and watch her for an entire hour. The room was silent and no one spoke or even made a sound.
Lu Jinwen stood outside the door, he slumped against the bamboo wall and had one hand in his pocket while the other was fidgeting with a lighter. He lit the flame and blew it out again. Over and over again.
His chiseled features were brightened up by the flame but it darkened at the next moment.
Butler Ye then walked over and respectfully reported, “Sir, Madam Xuanji hasn’t regained consciousness yet.”
Lu Jinwen’s eyelids twitched but he didn’t show much emotion on his face.
“Sir, Tang Chenyi is not able to talk. Is he really able to make Madam Xuanji regain her consciousness? We can’t just watch and wait for Madam Xuanji to regain her consciousness without doing anything…
Lu Jinwen hesitated for a moment, he kept his lighter in his pocket and straightened his back before entering the room.
Bam! He opened the door loudly and the silence in the room was broken.
He walked over to her bedside and knelt with one knee on the bed, lowering his eyes to look at Lin Xuanji. She was still unconscious and he stretched his calloused fingertips out to caress her face. “You’re still continuing to put up an act, hm?
“I’ve already granted your wish, you’ve already met your son. You’re still not planning to regain your consciousness, are you planning to reunite with Jun Mosheng?” Lu Jinwen showed a wry smile on his face.
Two bodyguards then entered the room, they had held Tang Chenyi down and Butler Ye handed a gun over into Lu Jinwen’s hands.
Lu Jinwen took out the loaded bullets inside the gun and only left one inside. He bent over and planted a kiss on Lin Xuanji’s hair before continuing to say, “There’s a single bullet in here. I’m going to treat your son like my target. If this bullet shoots past your son’s head, you only have yourself to blame. You can’t blame me, it’s because you’re unwilling to wake up. You are the one… who harmed your own son.”
Lu Jinwen then lifted his hand, aiming the gun barrel towards Tang Chenyi’s head.
The Lu family was an established family. Although Lu Jinwen was a businessman, his younger brother, Lu Fan was a commander in the armed forces. The men in the Lu family grew up learning how to handle guns, and so did Lu Jinwen.
Su Yan stood at one side and watched with her eyes wide open. “No, Master, please don’t! You’ll kill Chenyi if you continue!”
Su Yan wanted to charge forward but before she could even move, Butler Ye had already pressed her down.
Tang Chenyi was held down by the two bodyguards and he stared at Lu Jinwen coldly, he didn’t seem to fear Lu Jinwen at all.
Lu Jinwen pulled the trigger.
There wasn’t any sound of shot being fired.
It was an empty shot!
Su Yan’s legs went weak and gave way. She collapsed on the ground, her master actually fired the shot.
Lu Jinwen raised the corner of his lips into a sardonic smile, his fingers were still on Lin Xuanji’s smooth skin and he looked at her while her eyes were shut. “It was an empty shot earlier, why don’t I try a continuous firing this time round? Xuanji, what do you think about five continuous shots?”
His voice resounded around the entire bamboo house. He sounded gentle as he said that, but his words were s.a.d.i.s.tic, sending one right into the depths of h.e.l.l.
Su Yan shook her head in agitation. There were only seven shots in his gun, but only one bullet inside. If he were to fire five continuous shots, the probability of a bullet shooting through Tang Chenyi’s head was going to be extremely high.
Tears couldn’t stop streaming down Su Yan’s face. She started to kowtow to Lu Jinwen and didn’t seem to have the intention to stop at all. “Master, please don’t! You’ll kill Chenyi, he was born a mute, please just pity him and stop this. I’m pleading you to stop it, please!”
Tang Chenyi didn’t have much of an expression on his face, but his eyes turned a little red. He was just like a little beast that was having a face-off with another beast, Lu Jinwen.
Lu Jinwen held the gun, pulling the trigger again.
The trigger also made a sound even if there wasn’t any bullet in that shot, that sound made one s.h.i.+ver in fear.
“Ah!” Su Yan screamed.
Five shots.
Lu Jinwen really stuck to his words, he fired five continuous shots.
But there weren’t any bullets firing out of the barrel.
There weren’t any bullets.
The bullet must be left for the last shot then.
“Master, please don’t shoot Chenyi. Madam Xuanji, please just wake up now, are you really going to watch your biological son die in front of you?” Su Yan screamed hysterically.
Two drops of tears trickled down the corners of Lin Xuanji’s eyes.
She was crying.
Lu Jinwen touched the two drops of tears with his fingertips and his cold gaze suddenly turned tender. “Baby, I’m counting to three. Three seconds later, if you’re still not going to open your eyes, I’m firing the shot.”
“One…”
Lu Jinwen lifted the gun, aiming the barrel as Tang Chenyi’s head. If he were to pull the trigger, a bullet would shoot into Tang Chenyi’s head for sure.
His finger was on the trigger.
There wasn’t a single sound in the bamboo house, the atmosphere was so heavy it was stifling. Everyone’s gaze was fixated on Lu Jinwen’s finger, as long as he pulled the trigger, Tang Chenyi was going to die.
“Two…”
Before he could continue counting three, Lu Jinwen’s sleeve was tugged on. A tiny hand lifted up and tugged on his sleeve.
