Young Master Gu, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 988: I Will Never Let Go of Your Hand Anymore

Chapter 988: I Will Never Let Go of Your Hand Anymore

What would happen to her Ah Yan if she fell unconscious?

Her Ah Yan was a warrior, he had fought alone for far too long. He had helped so many people, giving them the light while he could only stand in the darkness. He could only become a phantom, becoming a legend that no one knew about.

He was so hesitant in front of his own happiness, the nation and her were on each of his hands. He could only place himself last.

If she really fell unconscious, who would be responsible for loving him in the future?

An angel?

An angel could never replace her.

How could she bear to just leave him behind in this world, all by himself?

Her entire body hurt, she was suffering in so much pain that she shuddered, almost feeling numb. But she told herself, An’an, just hold in there for a bit, just for Ah Yan. She had to, she must.

Lu Yan smiled while his tears continued dropping on her face. He wiped them away for her, till her makeup was all smudged and she looked like a kitten.

His voice was husky as he said, “If we really have a pair of twins, you’re responsible for naming them. I’m not as cultured as you, you shall give the babies a good name, hm?

“We’re all going to listen to you, no matter how small the matter is, you’re going to make all the decisions. The same goes for me, you’re going to make all the decisions on my behalf.”

An’an ran her fingers over his chapped lips. “It’s a deal, you can’t go back on your promise. I’m going to be the boss of our family from now on.”

Lu Yan nodded, pleased, as the neon lights continued to s.h.i.+ne through the car window and onto his face. “Yes!”

At the hospital.

An’an was pushed into the emergency operating theater. Lu Yan wanted to charge in too but the doctor stopped him from doing so. “Mister, please stay outside.”

Lu Yan instantly tugged on the doctor’s elbow.

He was so strong that with just a light tug, the doctor’s face blanched because of the pain. Adding on Lu Yan’s tall build, it scared the wits out of the doctor. The doctor started stammering, “Mi-Mister, wh-what are you trying to do?”

Lu Yan glanced at the operating theater’s door in front. “You must save her, you must!”

The doctor went in and the door closed with a loud boom. The red light outside the operating theater was switched on and Lu Yan just stood along the corridor. He slumped against the wall with both hands in his pockets and a knee bent. His fringe covered his brown eyes and he didn’t even make a sound at all.

He was waiting.

All he could do was to wait.

The surgery went on for 12 whole hours, the nurses went in and out, bringing in six bags of blood. The sun slowly rose as time pa.s.sed.

Bam! The door opened, the doctor had been drained of all his energy as he staggered out.

Lu Yan quickly ran forward, his lips were so chapped there was an obvious layer of dead skin on it. “How is it?”

The doctor took off his mask, nodding his head. “Mister, the surgery was a success. The patient’s will to live was so strong, I’ve performed surgery on so many people and if any of them were to sustain eight stab wounds, they would have all died. But this patient is so different, she continued persevering, she wanted to live on so badly. I can only say, she’s a miracle.”

The nurse pushed An’an out of the operating theater. An’an had changed out of her b.l.o.o.d.y clothes into a set of loose, striped hospital clothing. Her face was drained of all color and underneath those long lashes, her veins were visible. She lay on the pillow and was extremely drowsy. She just appeared so pitiful and invited everyone’s sympathy.

Lu Yan crouched down by the bed, looking at her. He had never been so soft-hearted before.

He held her cold hand, calling her name with a husky voice, “An’an.”

His An’an.

If it was possible, he wanted her to fuse with his blood and bones so she could become one with him.

An’an was pushed into the ICU and many people had rushed over. Gu Mohan, Tang Mo’er, Fu Qinglun and Lin s.h.i.+yu.

Tang Mo’er and Lin s.h.i.+yu’s eyes were red and teary. They had cried long before they came to the hospital. An’an was going through life and death and they hadn’t known about it at all.

Tang Mo’er looked through the tiny window and couldn’t stop sobbing. “Three years ago, An’an had to undergo an entire day’s surgery after slas.h.i.+ng her wrist. I stood right here and looked at her back then. Lu Yan, sometimes I really wish that An’an would love you less, or maybe, just not love you at all. I wish she had never even met you.”

Lu Yan stood tall beside Tang Mo’er. He looked at An’an, who was in the ICU. Three years ago, he hadn’t stayed by her side. It was only after the entire incident pa.s.sed then he knew that she had slashed her wrist.

“I was the one who caused all of this to happen to her.”

“But,” Tang Mo’er glanced at Lu Yan and spoke up, “You were the one who made her grow up. You were the one who gave her the courage and strength. Three years ago, she wanted to die but three years later, she wants to live. You were able to make her choose between heaven and h.e.l.l.

“Lu Yan, not everyone can meet a girl like An’an in their lifetime. She grew up by your side, it was her purest vision to protect you, her entire youth was filled with you only. If you meet a girl like her, please don’t hesitate. Do you know how ridiculous your deliberation is? She doesn’t want anything, the only thing she wants in life, is you.

“Hold her hand and you two are bound to have a future together. Remember to never let go of her hand, only then you’ll have the possibility of leading a happy life with her in the future.”

Lu Yan felt his heart being shot by those words. He finally understood it all.

As he looked at the lithe figure on the hospital bed, the corners of his lips. .h.i.tched up. “I’ll hold onto her hand tightly forever, I’ll never let go.”

Li Si and An Xi had rushed over to the hospital. Lu Yan and Li Si had a conversation near the stairway.

“Yan Zi, Delia is dead. The leftover powers that had been left behind by international drug lord Henry have been wiped clean. This case has managed to deter international crime organizations, they have all laid low after hearing of the news. However, all of the credit has been accredited to Lin Shun. Lin Shun’s name has been made in the police force. Just two days later, he’s going to receive a promotion. It’s said that the General’s daughter, Qianqian has already agreed to his courts.h.i.+p and everyone has sent their congratulations to them. They’ve become an overnight legend with all the fame and attention they’ve received.”

Li Si felt really indignant for Lu Yan. Lin Shun wasn’t a capable man at all, it was all because of Lu Yan and An’an work that Delia was finally gotten rid of. Now An’an hadn’t even gotten out of danger and yet they’ve already set up a celebration party outside.

The hospital was silent while Lin Shun and Qianqian were enjoying themselves with all the fame and attention that had fallen to them.

Lu Yan didn’t have much of an expression on his face. He had been staying in the hospital all night, he hadn’t even changed out of his clothes and they were filled with creases. He smiled. “I got it.”

He then turned to leave.

“Yan Zi!” Li Si shouted out from behind. “I know that you don’t care for this fame and superficiality but do you really not want to put on your uniform? Uncle always asked for you to be an upright man. You should step out of the darkness and come under the light! You should let everyone see you, let everyone know that, oh, this is Blood Eagle! Lu Yan is Blood Eagle!”
