Chapter 7-3

DECEMBER 31, 2016 / ALBERTKENOREIJOU

Currently Albert House was rumored to be second in authority after the Royalties. However in reality, there were a lot of low rankings folks sucking up to Albert House and reaping benefits.

Rather than receiving oppositions from other n.o.ble houses, contrary wise they’re trying to be on equal footing with the royalties.*

In that circ.u.mstance, from young ages Mary had perceived many n.o.bles attempting to curry favor with her.  Hence, she was compelled to reflect.

Albert House has become excessively big.

Before it’s too late she had to divide its power.

“If we let things proceed Albert House will be an equal of the Royalties…….. No, possibly overwhelming them. If things turn up like that……….”

What do you think will happen? Being asked by Mary’s stare, wrinkles appeared on Addie’s eyebrows.

He didn’t know what precisely will transpire regardless he knew it’d not be a desirable outcome. Despite his status as a servant, he’d been involved in the twirling world of n.o.bilities.

There’re people who adopted a domineering att.i.tude by ensconcing behind their social statuses, and not once or twice they’d preposterously demanded something outrageous.

Fortunately, his master was generous ——- the word ‘generous’ probably didn’t do the justice —— He’d never been treated unjustly nevertheless he had a friend who worked in another house lamenting that ‘even carriage-horses are treated better.’

By flourishing their inherent lineage as aristocrats, they controlled tremendous advantages and could brandish their power.  A country which internal regimes were ruled by n.o.bles’ houses was bounded to be like that, in case that Albert House overcame the Royalties, this country would transform into ‘a country of n.o.bles’.

“Otou-sama and his close devotees seem to not have any incentive but those aristocrats-supremacists are clearly zealous to exploit him. If we let them do as they please, Albert House will be their head representative to overthrow the royalties.”

“……..It can’t be. Nonetheless why does Ojou wish to stop them? In case Albert House evolves more than ever, won’t you have a better lifestyle?”

Addie then added in a small voice, “Well, as a crocket chauvinist, you indisputably already had a satisfying lifestyle right now.” At this, Mary cleared her throat.

“For instances, without being ridicules by other students, you can eat crockets three times a day.”

“No, if I’m willing to I can eat them three times a day. I won’t do it though. Well, setting aside the crocket stuff, it’s true that by standing on top of the country can lead me to a more glamorous life…….notwithstanding it’s only for the beginning.”

“……only the beginning?”

What’re you implying? Addie tilted his neck. Mary downed another sip out her Black Tea.

The taste was different to the one she usually had.  As a lady of the prodigious Albert House, Mary could tell from a single swig that it was of an inferior quality.

Mary sighed; it’s the so-called low-grade tea for commoners. Yet in the corner of her head she thought that her tongue has a complication to deem it as delicious.

“At present the Royalties still hold the reign, to topple them; those aristocrats-supremacists are sponging off Albert House. When Albert House’s standing becomes an inconvenience for them, they’ll absolutely relief all their fidelity.”

“No way……..”

“Otou-sama is a talented man, had there’s a need to, he can easily expand his business overseas. As far as abilities goes, no one more adept than Otou-sama to develop our house, ‘just developing it’ being the keyword here”

“Just developing?”

“Exactly, by nature Otou-sama is someone who sincerely welcomes other with both hands.  It seemed that those dealings were patched with agreements and such, albeit he’s been fooled a number of times.”

“Danna-sama is a benevolent person, affluence with compa.s.sion and someone who’d believe in others without any scruple.”

“As usual you’re blinded by your judgment, it’s seriously creeping me out. In fact, ‘believing in others’ is out of the framework, he’s outright gullible, you know. “

“True enough, as he let his eccentric daughter to do as she pleases without reproaching her.”

“Precisely, to even absolve her daughter’s loutish servant “

A sarcasm for a sarcasm, both backed away as they inhaled deeply.

Taking a sip off her tea, procuring another sweet by extending her hand, Mary resumed her dialogue. “Still…”

“At least if it’s a conflict within n.o.bles’ houses, Otou-sama and his steadfast factions will do just fine.  What I’m fearful about is……. tempting the ire of the royalties.”

“Albert House will attract the royalties’ wrath?”

“You see, in the land they rule over, a single house is engaging an idea of rebellion. They at any cost won’t let it slide for sooner or later. Even in case the head of royalties is crushed, a single n.o.ble family, Albert House has no means to defense itself.”

While presently Albert House was hailed at its peak, at that time there’s no guarantee those houses would lent their supports. By Mary’s calculation, half of them will withdraw as soon as developments turn sours, and the other half will play pretend as neutral party.

In preparation for Albert House’s downfall, it’s best if she could shrink the expanse of damage as much as possible.

“That’s why Ojou is eager to seek the destruction end?”

“Exactly. Inside the game’s ending, Albert House received a huge blow but it’s not a complete annihilation. The ‘perpetrator’ Mary was home-confined in a rural area, half of our establishments were retrieved by the royalties and I seemed to be socially disowned. With just that Otou-sama can still make a comeback.”

Rather than being obliterated as the representative of n.o.bles houses, or incurring the wrath of the royalties and be punished for, the destruction-end caused by Mary would leave a room for a future.

In a certain route of Dora-gaku sequel fan disk there’s a scene of Mary’s parent entreating for clemency from Alicia, furthermore swearing their allegiance to the royalties.

Having vast connections outside the country, Albert House that had been establishing business dealings across the seas naturally held an ace in case of emergency. Unquestionably when it’s crushed Albert House perhaps would be pushed toward the cliff; nevertheless illusorily speaking it’s only the edge of the cliff. It still had a return path.

The scariest consequence is if they tumble from the cliff and can’t hang on. Once something was banished by the royalties’ wrath, there’s no second chance to get up.

“And so Ojou…….”

“Right, what villainous lady Mary had done was met with punishment, but alas those were paltry fight over a man, the final decision laid on Alicia’ verdict. Hence, it’d entail some leeway from emotional perspective………end of my conjecture”

“But, because of it Ojou will be sent alone…..to a bucolic land……a bucolic land!?”

Ostensibly remembering such fact, Addie raised his voice. Mary gaped in surprised.

“What did you mean by a bucolic land!?”

“What you said………..it’s explained in the game epilogue.”

Been judged by Alicia, villainous lady Mary was repudiated by her family and was sent away to live with her distant relatives in distant land toward the north. All this time being an egocentric individual who did things as she pleased, no one was there to send her off………they’re written in the epilogue.

Despite getting those elucidation, Addie eyes were still unfocused*, he could only mutter ‘is that so’ and ‘why Ojou’.

After a while he allegedly started processing them, nonetheless couldn’t fully accepted them emotionally, thus to regained himself he drank his tea in a gush.

“A land in the north, mayhap they’re Okugata-sama’s relatives?”

“I don’t know the detail, well it’s possibly so. It’s not a bad place. It’s less convenience than here, yet it’ll be swamped by tourists when migratory-bird season came.”

“Despite so to be evicted to such a place……….isn’t that simply too cruel?”

“Is that so, it’s not a categorically nasty region. The sceneries are exquisite, migratory-bird season is a sight to be behold, and the boarding school must be pretty adequate……moreover”

“Moreover?”

For Mary who outwardly had a strong sentiment toward the North region and looked somewhere afar, Addie t.i.tled his head in antic.i.p.ation.

(Maybe after she’s driven out to the North region, she’d already prepared a plan to return back)Addie……he started to embrace such expectation.

Ignorant about Addie’s hopefulness, Mary’s...o...b.. were glittering as she clutched her fist.

“Opening a migratory-bird rice bowl business in the North, I’ll build a huge fortune!”

No doubt it’ll sales like hotcakes! Mary beamed fervidly. Addie blew a long breath and dropped his shoulder.

His body losing its entire verve, however none could blame him for this. He was picturing her constructing a strategy to return after being expelled to the North, and yet she decided to settle in.

Why she……..Addie mumbled lowly, well within her earshot Mary puffed her cheeks in displeasure.

“What, do you have any problem?”

“No, there’s no such thing……..”

“Come on, no matter where I was exiled to, I’ll act freely to my heart content. Moreover I consider myself similar to father who have keen eyes for commerce and sagacity!”

“Ah yeah, okay. So in the fan-disk while Alicia-chan was here, we’re dealings with migratory-bird rice bowl elsewhere, huh. Even though she’s a villainous lady, truly what a pitiable state”

“………..Eh?”

Addie saw Mary gawked at his statement. Her expression articulated that she wasn’t expecting it; Addie directed his gaze on her and thought ‘was it such a bombastic revelation?’

“What’s the matter, Ojou? Did I say something weird?”

“Eh….uhm……no, I’m fine. Right, fan-disk……….fan-disk………..”

Mary held her forehead with a slightly upturned voice.

Her complexion looked waxen, taking notice of it Addie tried to check on her condition.
